Hey Yo!

This question and thread is very simple do you think finally that CM Punk is considered a legitimate main eventer;
- In the eyes of the WWE Universe?
- In the eyes of WWE Management/Creative?

Yes, of course he is!

CM Punk is one of the best talents that the WWE have and I would be very surprised if the WWE didn’t know that. It takes a very special heel to get over and have the fans cheer for him. Randy Orton managed it and now look what he is doing. Randy is one of the most credible main eventers on Raw and I would be very surprised if WWE management didn’t think the same of CM Punk. They have given him a lot of leeway with his current gimmick and it seems to be all-encompassing on Smackdown right. There is nobodies business that CM Punk is not involved in and more power to him for it.

Seriously, the WWE would be fucking blind to not see what kind of talent CM Punk is. He is wonderful on the mic and is probably the closest thing to The Rock that the WWE have right now. He commands respect from the fans and is so entertaining it’s not even true. He is great in the ring and exciting to watch. He has come a long way since ECW and I only consider him to be on the up and up. H is probably the most credible main eventer on Smackdown right now, with the exception of the Undertaker and I fully expect him to ditch the feud with Kane and go after the World Heavyweight Championship pretty soon afterwards.

Your post is spam. Good precedent to set, isn't it?

I think overall you would have to consider him a main eventer, yes. The last few months have really solidified him in the top category of talents on Smackdown, and probably the entire WWE. Outside of The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio, Punk is the next biggest thing they have on the blue brand and he is an excellent heel, who may have surpassed Edge and Jericho. In addition he is very versatile in that he can fit into any section on the card and make it look believable, much like Chris Jericho and Kane. However, with that being said, it is the main event/upper mid card that I feel Punk truly belongs, especially now that he is so over with the crowd at this point in time.

I think CM Punk is a legitimate main eventer, he has been for little over a year since his second World Heavyweight championship.

CM Punk has been doing great with numerous highly thought of feuds, the Straight Edge Society which has been one of the better things going on in WWE in the past half years time, and to top it off CM Punk is wrestling on Smackdown.

Smackdown has lack of big main eventers, giving him an easier time to make it to the main event feuds, because we don't have guys like Edge, Chris Jericho etc. taking up the time for the "upper mid-carders" which I would consider Big Show, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk (until now).

CM Punk could easily be in for another world heavyweight championship, I think that he would do good at carrying it right now on Smackdown, and to think that means that I would definitely think of CM Punk as a legitimate main eventer, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I think CM Punk is actually borderline upper midcard/main event kinda like Jericho. I see him getting the same treatment as Jericho as well. Getting a title run every few years then going back and feuding with midcarders. I wouldnt be suprised if somewhere in the future he wins the IC title again.

Well, the fact is that CM Punk is being used in a main event way and has done a pretty damn good job at holding his own among the others. He hit the main event as a face, sank to upper mid-card, and jumped back into main event once he pulled his heel turn.

I'd say Punk is "lower" main event but he's still fairly new to it and is starting to build. I'd say the SES as a whole is main event, however, given that Gallows and Serena (not to mention the masked what's-his-butt) act as an extension of Punk. As a side note, I've got to say I'm very pleased with the way they've built and handled this group to be so devoted to Punk that they are an extension of him.

Punk is a believable heel and a main event level performer...so yes, he's main event, alright.

Yes, CM Punk is has certainly gained ME status in the WWE. He definitley isn't up there with the top tier guys (Undertaker, Triple H, Randy Orton, John Cena, Rey Mysterio) but he is still main event material.

The great thing about Punk is that he can seamlessly transition from the main event, to mid-card and no one notices (not really) or cares. He is a fantastic, very over heel who, over the past few months has really become one of the best charecters the WWE has to offer and I believe a title run is in the books for him very soon, he sure as hell deserves it.

Hes bottom of the main event in that he wont beat the Cenas, Ortons, HHHs but it is not hard to see him in the ring with them. In the eyes of the WWE universe i think he is, i think he is in the eyes of WWE management, but he is a guy they have no problem demoting, unlike some of the others. I think to really cement that he is a top guy they need to make him beat them, but with his character and everything else the losses dont really hurt him which makes him a rare kind of superstar that is fantastic for WWE to have, he can get the guys really over and then be in the main event himself. If not for him, Rey would not be champ now.

Yeah, so he's kind of like Chris Jericho.

CM Punk is a guy that has developed his character by a landslide since his ECW debut. Look at where he is right now. He's the leader of his own stable, he's a 3-Time World Heavyweight Champion and he's consistently entertaining with his promos/mic work. Although, I have to admit that once he lost to Rey Mysterio and started donning his mask I was rather sceptical about him getting any clean victories. Plus, his botches with the GTS have made me wonder if it'll be a hindrance to his credibility since it comes off looking weak. But, in the end those are marginal problems. It'd be sweet revenge on his part if he were to defeat Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship. He's doing fine where he is right now and is certainly Main Event material as he has all the tools under his belt. All he needs to give him that Sheamus presence are wins over John Cena, Randy Orton and Triple H.

Yes...both universe and management...he is like Jericho in my eyes..(not wrestling wise)...like he jumps back and forth...from main eventing to the upper midcard...and he doesn't need a title to show how good he is..everyone knows he is the future of the "E"...

Ever since 2008, when he won his first World title...i considered him a main eventer..and of course then he jumped back to the upper midcard..and then he came back to the main event the next year... its what some wrestlers do..

I think though he could do with another finisher..but thats off topic...

Yes he is. He is a three-time World Hevyweight Champion. I think when you win three world titles in as many years, you can be called a main eventer.

Oh, and if the fact that he has worn the biggest prize in professional wrestling around his waist three times isn't enough for you, consider this. He is the biggest heel in the company at the moment. I don't think i'd be far off the mark when I say he has had the most air-time on SmackDown this year. He's cutting a ten-minute promo pretty much every week. If these factors aren't evidence of Punk being a main eventer, I don't know what is.

Oh, the irony.
