CM Punk PPV Losing Streak?

I searched didn't see a thread on this.

Was just talking with a co-worker about the last few ppvs and it dawned on us both that CM Punk has not cleanly won or really come out on the winning end of a ppv match since he beat John Cena in Chicago at MITB for the WWE title.

He did pin Cena under controversy at Summerslam, but then got Jack Knifed by Nash and pinned by Del Rio to lose the WWE title.

He then lost to HHH at NOC, yes it was after much interference but he lost again none the less.

He then took the pin from Del Rio at HIAC to see Del Rio gain the WWE title once again.

Just curious as to what others are thinking about this ppv losing streak from Punk? Is it to ultimately build him up more making his next big win more amazing? or is it tearing him back down because Vince and HHH thinks he got to big by going his own route and not following the WWE way?

I believe this is just over-analyzing, to be fair. While he might not have won anything clearly in those past weeks, it was always a good fight.
None of his losses had any "burial" feeling to them.
