Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
Does anyone else see him possibly repeating?

I hate the idea of having the Intercontinental champ in a match like this, but there's still a chance he drops it before then. Possibly like Austin did years ago, in hopes of having "bigger fish to fry". He did great in the match last year, and seems to be set for being the first man to win it twice. He's in the middle of a serious mid-card push, and it wouldn't be too far-fetched to give him another title reign within the year.

There's still too many wild cards involved with this match, so I won't call him the winner yet, but it is an intriguing possibility.

I don't see him winning, but he's a solid addition. Two years ago along with Kennedy & Hornswoggle he was one of only a few who managed to stand out in the match. Last year he provided one of the only shocks of the night.

You'd hope that WWE would build wrestlers up so they don't have to participate in the same match each and every year. But they don't.

Ummmm, maybe participate, but definately not win. Remember the storyline when he won? That whole 'underdog' champion surronding him just destroyed his reign as champion as every week the person challenging would say:'ha, you not a real champion you cheated' because of Punk's face gimmick. However if Puck was suddenly to change heel 6 weeks before 'mania, then it could suit him winning and cashing the briefcase in.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he won again. The mitb match usually has a clear cut favorite to win the match, like the years rvd, and kennedy won. even last year before hardy was suspended it was obviously going to be his year. Then the suspension happened CM punk took his push. If he didn't win last year, i would call punk the favorite this year. I don't think anyone else in the midcard is close to ready for a main event push other than punk.

If he does win I think he will make a point of cashint it in "properly" by saying on Raw a weke or two before a PPV "I will face (champion) at (PPV). He would then get respect for doing it the way RVD did it.

I can see the WWE having someone win it this year and not going on to win a title. If everyone continues to win a title it will become too predictable. Maybe have someone like Punk or MVP win it, cash it in cleanly but get disqualified from the match. They can then either revert to upper mid card if WWE wishes or get an insane push jeff hardy style until they eventually do win the title.

I am not a fan of this guy, so I am hoping that he doesn't win again. Furthermore, I can only imagine the shit that will be said should he win MITB this year. However, having CM Punk win MITB this year would be a great diversionary tactic. Think about it: instead of fans talking about how Cena is shoved down our throats, everyone will lay off him and start talking about how CM Punk is shoved down out throats.

Anyway, I predicted that an African-American would win MITB at WM 26. However, now I believe that it will probably happen this year, and that either MVP or Shelton Benjamin will win it (should they be entered into the contest). If an African-American does not win it this year, I could definitely see John Morrison picking it up (even though they lost their qualifying match last night, I still see both Miz and Morrison getting in somehow this year). If Morrison picks it up, look for Miz and Morrison to break up out of jealousy on Miz's part (if WWE feels they haven't overdone jealousy with the Hardy brothers).

As a long shot, I also see the Hardy brothers putting their feud on hold for WM 25 so that they can both be entered into MITB. If Jeff qualifies for this match, then he will be my favorite to win.

I just hope to God Morrison finds a way in, because in this type of match Morrison is the true star. Punk works better in technical matches, not fast paced, high risk matches like this. He was OK last year but Morrison was the real MVP of that match. On the subject of him winning... he better not. He got his push, and if they do the same storyline again I will be pissed. He showed he's got what it takes, so they can't do the underdog thing, and he's not exactly a dominant champion. I wish they would either keep Punk in the mid-card or give him real shots, not just toss him back and forth so suddenly.

This year's MITB is incredibly tricky. There are TONS of people that could be worthwhile participants, and a lot of people aren't being set up for any kind of feuds right now, but they'll still have to be ignored.

Punk was one of the 6 or so faces that I figured had the best shot at being involved. The rest were MVP, Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne, Mr. Kennedy, and the off chance that Finlay and R-Truth had to fill two positions. The heels this time around I can only see being locked in at Shelton, Morrison, Miz, and Kane...but that still leaves Big Show, Kozlov, JBL, and Umaga out of the show.

I'm still sticking by my "Morrison, MVP, or Shelton will win it this year, in that order of probability" estimation, but I'm a little more worried now that Morrison might not, as they made him lose to Punk...rather than have Punk beat William Regal to get into the spot which would've made much more sense in my mind, unless they did this so Morrison beats Punk during the MITB match to win. Punk won't win it twice in a row. He's there because they have nothing else for him to do and he's important enough that he should have a spot on the card.

It's too soon to say if Punk will be repeating. I love Punk, but I really don't want to see him win MITB again. He had his moment last year and definately benefited him as he has held every title possible on RAW in the past 12 months.

With that being said, anything is possible in the WWE. They have done a good job making the MITB match matter. Every winner has gone on to have tremendous success (Kennedy has been in line for numerous pushes with injury holding him back). Whoever the winner turns out to be, I will be looking for big things from him.
