Chael Sonnen finally gets under Anderson Silva's skin

Andrson Silva finally breaks down and speaks about what he will do to Chael Sonnen.

“First of all, Chael is a criminal. He’s been convicted of crimes. He doesn’t deserve to be inside the Octagon. And when the time is right, I’m going to break his face and break every one of his teeth in his mouth.”

I hope Anderson Silva will beat the living hell out of Chael. Chael took this fight and made it personal. Going all the way to make insulting comments about Silva's country, friends, and most importantly his wife. Chael Sonnen is a trash-talking ******, who thinks he is better then anybody else. I hope Anderson Silva will shut him up for good. Chael Sonnen doesn't belong in MMA ring, but more in a WWE type wrestling show. F*ck Chael!

You can hope all you want. On July 7th, Chael is likely going to beat Anderson Silva all over the cage for 25 minutes. It kills me how people don't respect Chael going into this fight, much like the last one, when Chael proved that he can put Silva on his back and pound the crap out of him.

Chael Sonnen deserves respect? For what? For bashing every MMA fighter he can? For making Japanese Mixed Martial-Arts promotions look like crap? For making stupid remarks about Wanderlei Silva and Nogueira brothers, that will obviously fuck him up if they ever had a fight with him? Why should I respect a trash-talking whiny bitch like Sonnen? He kept whining how Anderson Silva only won because of the submission, well, guess what? He still WON! So his claims are pathetic at best.

There is a big difference between talking shit to only Anderson Silva, and getting his entire family involved in this. I dare you, Heisenberg, to stand across Chael and hear him bash your family, your ancestory, your personal life. I'd love to see you accept that kind of treatment. Again if his 'schtick' is to go involve someone's family into this, he can go and shove that 'schtick' up his ass. When Tito Ortiz was feuding with Ken Shamrock, you didn't see him trash-talk his family, right? All you heard is him bad-mouthing his training camp. Tito knew where to stop, but Chael doesn't.

Agreed. He is the #2 in the division. But I'd like to see him for once, take a fighter he fights against seriously.

You know why? Because this is the first time I seen Anderson Silva getting pissed off. And we all know that he is still undefeated in UFC, and obviously, him getting pissed off isn't a good thing for Sonnen. Yeah, Sonnen has gotten into the man's head, and many people actually believe that emotional fighters often do mistakes, but I can see how Anderson Silva will still win. Anderson Silva needs this win. If he loses, be sure to hear how Chael Sonnen keeps talking trash about everything that moves in MMA, except himself. And that's not something I want to see. I want Chael Sonnen to shut up, and start taking his opponents seriously.

No, that makes it business. Insulting the guy and his family makes it personal. Or to put it in a different way, killing someone because they raped your wife isn't the same thing as killing someone because someone paid you a lot of money to do it. The outcome is the same, but I wouldn't call them the same.

And it's a good move for Chael. Being a dick and pissing off off Silva increases interest in the fight (therefore more buys and thus money) and if he succeeds (which he seemingly has) in pissing off Silva then he might make a mistake that he wouldn't if he was calmer [insert suitable cliche here].

I go to a pretty good university myself. On student nights in town there have to be busses filled with first aiders to make sure that nobody falls into the river or dies from doing something stupid. A degree doesn't stop someone from being a mouthbreathing dumbass. Also, Stephanie Meyer has topped the best seller list. Make of that what you will.

However, I agree that Chael isn't an idiot. He's smart enough to realise that acting like a trash talking ****** is a good business move. There's a reason why pro wrestling needs heels. Chael may or may not be an asshole off camera, but he's almost certainly turning it up to 11 for the cameras. Look at PSach, he legit wants to see Chael get his ass kicked and he'll probably pay to see it. Hell, all Chael needs to do is insult the crowd and get a catchphrase and he'd be more of a WWE heel than a UFC fighter.

Unless he got his ass kicked in a humiliating fashion. Hypothetically, if he got KOed with the first punch, I'd have trouble buying that he's the second best guy in the division. Which is so unlikely that it's not worth mentioning in a serious fashion. Barring the ludicrously unlikely, yes he would be.

UFC loves heels. MMA fans (not necessarily the ones on here, but in general, the affliction shirt wearing ed hardy hat douchebags) like to act like they're above pro wrestling, but the biggest selling fighters have all been classic heels like Lesnar, Tito, or this new fish, or classic babyfaces like Shamrock, Couture, Liddell, and Silva.

I don't really care who wins this fight. I think it's 90% a work. Chael is making his brand stronger and might be in Silva's head. Either that or Silva was more motivated than ever and is going to rip his throat out.
