Cesaro vs Swagger

Quote the Raven, nevermore.
So tonight on RAW, Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter cost Cesaro the chance to face Wade Barrett in the finals of the Intercontinental Tournament. Later on in the night, it was announced that Cesaro will face Swagger this Friday on Smackdown.

My question is this. Do you guys think the WWE is wasting this match on Smackdown rather than having it at Extreme Rules? Will there be some kind of false finish which ultimately leads to a match at Extreme Rules? Do you even care?

Let me know what you think.

I thought about it because first I was a little disturbed by it. But I'm ok because what the rest of Raw showed me with that later interaction with RVD and Heyman is that they may be building towards a battle of the Heyman/ex-Heyman guys that will be around the Intercontinental title. I see RVD beating Barrett and Big E at the PPV to become the new champion. By then Cesaro will finish his program with Swagger and be free to feud with RVD with the backdrop of RVD's bitterness towards Heyman. I like the slow build up of Cesaro and I think WWE is still trying to figure out the dynamic of heel Heyman paired with a wrestler in Cesaro that fans want to cheer.

At least I hope it goes that way.

With the Extreme Rules PPV so close, I see some type of finish which will mean that a match between Cesaro and Swagger is repeated at ER. I doubt they will just end it after a mtach on SmackDown, it isn't a normal break-up rivalry like Titus and Young was, tbh.

As for the RVD segment. They could use that as a catalyst for a future rivalry between the two guys with Heyman as a focus, or it could have also been a forewarning of a Cesaro-Heyman break-up sometime down the line.

I agree. This feud has been brewing since WrestleMania season. I could imagine the video package is going to be great.

I'm hoping they could drag this feud out longer, maybe even have the new Real American Zeb has been trying to recruit interfere. I'd love to hear Zeb and Heyman battle on the mic.

As far as RVD, another good feud to give Cesaro credibility especially with the ECW history with RVD/Heyman.

I wonder if somehow the IC title match might end up a multi man, or if the backstage stuff with RVD, Cesaro and Heyman was merely a case of planting the seeds for after Extreme Rules.

If they follow the straight forward path I imagine the SD match ends in a DQ that leads to a gimmick match at the PPV as I don't see Cesaro not having a match on the show.
