Cena's promo on RAW

First time poster so dont bash me please, if this has been talked about already (I did have a look round first, but could not see it) i'm sorry, i have to admit I'm a John Cena fan but his promo on RAW last night was so so good, it really pushed him over the top as my current fav wrestler. It just seemed really powerful and full of emotion. Any way just wondering what over people thought of it?

If you are talking about the one he did after he FU'd Todd Grisham..
I'd say it was very repeatative. He said "MY NAME IS JOHN CENA" almost 5 times. But overall i liked it because it was right to the point. He didn't try to act funny or nothing, he just went right tho the point.

yeah, he definitely said his name way too many times....but it was intense and one of his better promos in recent memory. I also wondered why he never said anything about Maria, he just went from Umaga to Federline

O goodness that wuz sick what Eric Bischoff did. I think that he is stupid to put Maria up against Umaga. I mean he knew that she would loose to him. He is like undefeated. I can't wait to see a match with Umaga and John Cena. Umaga need to learn some English 2. Cuz he has some nerve to fight a diva!

at the start of that match a thought hit me, Cena would interfear and fu umaga so maria could win, If jr can beat HHH then it could of happend.

Maria has taken some big bumps and is a trooper.
Angle slam
Big samoan drop
That runny hip knee thing that umaga does in the corner

His spech sounded like the ones back from the attitude era, when they just talked in the ring, with a guy on the titantron and they just talked. As for the actual match that is goin down, that is really gonna suck

ya John Cena n Maria have been doin promos N He's been saving her ass for a while now. I wonder if they are goin to ever do a storyline with those two.

But back to the topic, that was the first time in a while John Cena actually did anything i liked.(last time was take the belt off JBL)

I actually liked the promo. I just can't wait to go to American Airlines Arena Jan. 1st and see Cena woop K-fed or Kevin Featherline or Whoever's ass.

It was a good promo, not perfect but it definatley made me see Cena in a somewhat different light

yea i think everyone liked it better cuz he wasnt talking about the cyber sunday match or his new movie that came out. its more like the old unforgiving cena.

When I saw the promo for some odd reason I had flash backs to the old Stone Cold back when he would just come out kick everyones ass then talk. lol

I'm far from a big fan of Cena, and while the argument about his talent goes on and on, i was really impressed by the promo on Monday. Im not imprssed however by the fact that Umaga will be the next challenger for the WWE title as he's not Main Event material yet. What happened to the days where the title was a big deal that you worked through your career for? Umaga obviously won't beat Cena but in my opinion he shouldn't even be challenging. Not when there's guys like Benoit and Kane and Taker (less so) mid carders on smackdown with angle's that aren't really going anywhere

Benoit v Chavo (ooo big money draw) will come to nothing
Kane v MVP no comment
Taker v Kennedy i like this feud could go far

and Big Show (not a great technichal wrestler but good at what he does) stuck in ECW.

It just seems to me like they're trying to make Cena a sort of "Stone Cold Redux." Cause basically what Cena did was do what Stone Cold did in the Attitude era. He'd come in, make his point, and then stun whoever happened to be there at the moment. I do hope they're not trying to recreate the scenario with Cena, because honestly, he's no Stone Cold. Not even close.

i was surprised by his promo he could off said a little more about maria but the intensity of it was the best cena has been aside from his rao he used to do. i like the intense side he is better when he does promos like that

When i heard Maria would take on Umaga, i tought that umaga might loose for the first time! and for the cena promo, he definetly said his name too much time but it was one of the most intense promos i've seen and it made me feel better after the announcement of the cena/k-fed match!

The promo was good and it sounded like the Cena of old a little bit. To get all you assholes of his back, I think he should do more of these promos. It's what he was built for and he was brilliant at it on SmackDown.

I hated his promo, it was just the WWE trying to pass him off as the new stone cold. John Cena is not good enough in the ring to make that sort of promo believeable

I can understand why alot of people think maybe wwe is pushing him as the new stone cold, and in all fairness he will NEVER be stone cold, but maybe it just seems like thats what they are doing because there is not one original idea in the wwe, every gimmick, promo, story are all re-hashes of past wwe wrestlers and stories.

The truth is you can look at any thing in the wwe right now and if you think hard enough find something that resembles it in the past.

The promo for me seemed to be the first i've heard in a long time from Cena that did not sound scripted (i mean who would write a script with the words John Cena like 100 times in it, lol), it sounded real and raw, and yes maybe you could say he was trying to sound like Stone cold or The Rock and maybe to a point be right but I guess the wwe policy of if it works once it will again is not going anywhere.

Anyway maybe i'm a sucker cause it worked for me and I want more of this from Cena, lol.
