I don't know about any of the other members of the IWC, but if they are like me, they are pretty upset that one of the greatest X-division wrestlers of all time is not returning, and was not even booked in one of the qualifier matches for Destination X. Petey Williams is definitely one of the all time greats in the X-division. He was in the upper Eschelon of the X-division when he was wrestling the likes of AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, Chris Sabin, and many others. He tagged with arguably the best tag wreslter of the last ten years, Bobby Rude. He was X-division champ multiple times, yet he was not even in a qualifier match. If Impact is truly reviving the X-division, which they seem to be doing, one would have to think bringing back Petey Williams and his Canadian Destroyer would be the best move that Impact could do.

The question here is, do you agree that this Canadian equals ratings, or should Impact just cut their losses and leave Petey to dwell in the indies forever?

Petey Williams was not booked for TNA in any of the qualifiers or the event because Petey Williams is a contracted wrestler to Lucha LibreUSA and is supposed to have a bit of resentment towards TNA due to how he was released.

Therefore, TNA had their hands tied in this situation and couldn't bring him in, or, Lucha LibreUSA would have the chance to sue TNA. Same as Homicide, he can't appear because he is signed to Paul Heyman's promotion UFW.

I don't know about canadians=ratings, but it'll be great if he comes back. Petey is currently under contract so that's probably the reason him not being in a qualifying match. I thinking having petey around would be a plus actually he shouldn't have been released in the first place. I hope that he comes back some day because he was one of the best all around wrestlers in TNA.

I was gonna ask if he was contracted somewhere else and someone above says so while there is no proof that this is the reason it is the most likely the answer to why he is not there because he was awesome and he had a main eventers look with the x division style and it was fun to watch. SO it is pretty disappointing that he isnt there but I am sure there is a legit reason why he isnt.

1. Contracted else where
2. He just told TNA to fuck themselves.

As for canadians =ing ratings. I dont know how many canadians have actually carried a company outside of Bret Hart but I will say this, Canadians are damn near always technically sound in the ring so I take from that they take wrestling very serious when it comes to in ring performing and I respect them for it. I mean look Jericho, HartS, Beniot, Williams, just to name four off the bat were all technically sound. Hell even Lance Storm was good lol

Canadians have proven that they can certainly carry a wrestling match which is key in something like the X-Division as long as they don't turn into spotfests. (Not that Petey Williams is in that category). It is as simple as everyone else said already, he is contracted elsewhere. But I will say this: Impact Wrestling simply does not know who to utilize talent or he wouldn't be contracted somewhere else to begin with. Just another case of why Impact wrestling is doomed to fail.

Petey williams is currently a personal trainer at lifetime fitness in canton, michigan, he is also under contract with llusa as someone mentioned before.in fact a guy I work with is personally trained and wrestles with petey ( the sharp dressed man jason harris). He works local shows in the detroit area and helps out truth martini at his wrestling school from time to time... scott d'more (spelling) too. So tna was probably just not that important to him right now.

One thing over always liked about TNA was their surplus of outstanding talent & The Canadian Muscle was no exception for me. Whenever I had the chance to watch TNA I always thought Williams was one of the high spots of the show.

Remember the program they had him in with Big Poppa Pump? I thought that worked pretty well. The way I see it, if you can run with a storyline that isn't for a title and even successfully work with Steiner then you're doing alright. I never was able to see how that panned out though (dammit!).

The only thing about it that I didn't like about Williams was his finisher. That thing looked great & looked effective however I couldn't even force myself to buy it.

Anywhodoolydoodles, it'd be great to see him swing by TNA later on so he keep the X Division momentum going.

I always found Williams to be the definition of a spot monkey. He was always made to look better than he was by superior workers and his matches were often identical - you could literally call his matches, as his moves had no connection to it and his finisher as great as it looks, was all show and no real substance.

He came undone when he faced Steiner who even in his horribly roided post late 90's state ran rings around him and exposed him as a poor worker who couldnt cope with a heavyweight.

im not sure if Canadians equal rating but they are among the best wrestlers in the world. Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Edge, Christian, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Lance Storm, Trish Stratus, Ivan Koloff, are all great wrestlers who where all at the top at one point.

Thank you to all who pointed out that he is currently under contract with Lucha Libre USA. i did not know this and might not have made this thread if i did. I know he did an independant gig in Pigeon Forge Tennessee that i was fortunate enough to see and I was reminded of this when i saw these X-division qualifiers.
