Actually, what happened was the opposite of what you described.
It was No Way Out 2006, and Undertaker had Kurt Angle trapped in the Triangle Choke. Angle's hand was going down twice, but he used his leverage to force Undertaker's shoulder's to the mat, gaining the controversial pinfall. The week after, Undertaker was given a rematch, but the match was interrupted by Mark Henry, who destroyed Undertaker, setting up their Casket Match at Wrestlemania.
But to your question, I dont see them being able to "re-create" that moment with Miz. It's no knock on Miz as a wrestler, but Angle was a superior mat technician who knew a counter for every hold. With him, it was believeable that he could counter said submission attempt into a leverage pin, because he was, well, Kurt Angle.
Miz just doesn't have the mat proficiency for this to be believable. He could "steal one" with a quick rollup or something of the like, but he's shown his inability in the past to last long in moves such as the STF from John Cena or the LaBell Lock from Daniel Bryan. It would be hard to suspend disbelief that he had suddenly become proficient in mat wrestling that he had learned counters for various submission holds, unless that's something they start to push now with him. They havent done that yet, so id say it's highly unlikely.
