Bring on the 3 Man Factions

Championship Contender
I was hoping it would be full go this year as Wyatts/Shield was such a hot feud cut short. Even though 3MB were glorified jobbers, they could have been elevated in a faction feud of sorts. Seems like WWE may go with Kingston, Woods and Big E, although I haven't seen any Big E vignettes yet. I think it would be a good way to give the roster more TV time as well as add a new element to the show, as Raw alone has 3 hours to fill. I understand pushing Ryback to the main event as many of the stars are injured, but when Bryan, Orton, Reigns come back, he may get lost in the shuffle. It could be good to see him led Axel, and maybe a repackaged Fandago as a trio. Or if Bryan returns and has to compromise his style, maybe surround him with guys the same size like calling up Itami and Balor. Or even with Reigns. Seems like his personality still needs to develop. WIth the Shield, there never seemed to be a cut and dry leader. When Reigns returns, maybe he could be a leader and develop some personality with 2 other guys. What do you think? Would regular 3 man groups be a good idea on todays programming?

I'm curious to see how Kofi, Woods & Big E function as this "New Day" group. I thought Kofi's vignette was much better than Xavier Woods, Kofi seemed...I dunno if "genuine" is the right word or not, but he just struck me as somebody that wasn't trying to go so far over the top that it seemed awkward. Xavier Woods' vignette had him goin' on like he was the second coming of James Brown.

At some point down the line, I see The Wyatt Family getting back together and I think the overall plan will be for them to be pulled back together in an alliance every so often like we've seen with DX over the years. Allegedly, there was talk that WWE would go down that road with The Shield and while I suppose it could happen, it wouldn't really make a whole lotta sense when you consider the animosity between Ambrose & Rollins.

When Reigns returns, I don't see WWE putting him back with a group. In fact, if they want Reigns to be one of their next genuinely top guys, it'll be counterproductive to put him with a group. Ambrose & Rollins have flourished as singles guys and if Reigns can rise to that next level, he needs to be able to show that he's got what it takes. Putting him in a group will only mask the problems he's got rather than fixing them and he needs to sink or swim on his own. If he hasn't got the stuff, I think it'd be better for management to find that out sooner, especially if they plan on putting the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on him at WrestleMania XXXI.

Xavier Woods' vignette had him goin' on like he was the second coming of James Brown.

that is just who Xavier Woods is. from the little I have seen of him on WWE TV he is basicly playing the same character that he played in TNA that of Appollo Creed crossed with James Brown. and not to mention that he is more than likely the SMARTEST pro-wrestler in history as a true PH.D. candidate.

now I haven't seen the vignettes yet as I do not watch Raw/Main Event or smackdown. just PPVs and read spoilers/play by play posts.

as for the 3 man factions..i wouldn't mind if there was 3 or 4, 3 man factions would be great and hearken back to the days of R.T.C. the Nation, los bariquas(sp?) and so on. could be good television as long as they don't just do exact recycle of the original faction wars.

There's plenty of great possibilities when it comes to trios. I still believe that Wwe missed out on some great stuff which could've involved The Shield, Wyatts, and Evolution/3MB.
I heard that NXT getting a new 3-man trio and then Wood's group (if wwe ever takes off with them) and then just wishful thinking, someone in forums said they would like to see Balor, Itami, and Daniel Bryan together, which I think would be an awesome idea.

But if 3MB, The Shield, and The Wyatt family has taught us anything, its that with Wwe it is either hit or miss with them. 3MB- 2/3rds got fired, The Shield memebers have went on to have huge success, and The Wyatts have been broken up before ever getting to see their true potential, and the little while they were together they didn't accomplish anything.

I am all for a couple factions (4-5) to be made every 2 or 3 years maybe. If we aren't going to get brand wars anymore and Survivor Series has lost its prestige for a while, having a couple of faction wars every now and then would be a great replacement.

To tell you the truth I would rather see them fix the tag team division. I mean there is an actual belt for that division, and it's been struggling for awhile now.

Besides they already broke up the other three 3 man factions they had the Shield, Wyatt's and two guys out of 3MB are gone.

Never been a huge fan of Xavier Woods anyway. He's always seemed to me to be the least interesting of what is being proposed. Very full of himself as well.

Even though 3MB were glorified jobbers....

And after a while, they weren't even glorified; they became a joke.....yet, at the same time, they were a useful joke because there seemed to be a bunch of situations in which their act fit what the company needed tp put on the air.

The problem is that no one for whom stardom is right around the corner is going to be plopped into a 3-man. The OP mentions Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns possibly benefiting from this? I can't see it; Daniel was already a star and placing him in a trio could only be considered a step backward.....while Roman Reigns just came out of a 3-man, having earned his way to near-main event status.... he's going to be a solo when he comes back.

But if WWE decides to finally let Kofi, Xavier and Big E launch their group.....and it proves successful.....it might be the cause of other 3-man factions popping up to oppose them. That's what I mean about 3MB proving useful; for instance, when the Matadores wanted to get El Torito in there, a 3-man group was needed to oppose them.

Just remember, as illustrated in the case of the New Nation; all three never accomplished much as singles, because if they had, the company wouldn't be talking now about putting them in teams.

I will be interested to see how the New Day group works. I am a little worried the stereotype will be to strong for WWE TV. They are already caught up in Rusev Russia drama.

I enjoy a good 3 man group. I think it is the perfect amount of people. The focus can be spread evenly throughout the group. You have a tag team and then a leader. It works well for me.
