Bring Back The Women's Championship?

Ok, so with RAW and Smackdown has 2 establish divisions with the divas, i think it's time that the WWE bring back the women's championship.

You have divas like Natalya and AJ and a little bit of Tamina and Alicia who need something to fight for. Yes the divas' championship can be defended on both shows, but they will never do that. They did it with Natalya but i don't see them doing it with anyone else.

If I had it my way, I would send The Bellas, Kelly and Maryse to Smackdown and take the diva's title with them and send Natalya and AJ to Raw to fight for the women's title.

So you would have this as your 2 diva rosters:
RAW:
AJ, Beth, Gail, Layla, Melina, Natalya, Tamina and Kharma

SMACKDOWN:
Alicia, Brie, Nikki, Eve, Kaitlyn, Kelly, Maryse and Rosa

Who in the world wants MORE women's wrestling? I fully support the diva's getting their one match every night, but that's it. While bringing back a second belt for the diva's will give more diva's something to do, it will only have the illusion of being prestigious. Nobody cares about the Divas championship (for fuck's sake, it's on one of the Bella Twins), and even fewer shits would be given about a second belt.

Truth of the matter is, most of the divas don't even deserve to be in the title picture. Beth, Layla, Natalya, Kharma, Eve, and maybe Kelly are the only divas that are really worth giving the title to. All the others are there primarily to lose to the dominant divas, and look good doing it. Eventually there will be some changes. Maybe AJ will replace Eve or Kaitlyn will replace Layla, but right now they belong nowhere near the Divas belt if the WWE wants the fans to even take the Divas Championship remotely seriously... and I'm not even sure they do.

TWO Championships for a fail of a division? No. Now if you wanted to swap out that piece of shit butterfly belt for the more prestigious (and respectable) Women's Championship then I say right on. One of my biggest pet peeves in wrestling today is how models are getting contracts and not actual indie stars who could actually put on a decent match. And now we have that abomination to look at on a girl that only has a job because her sister happens to be her twin. I mean ffs. Nothing gets me more heated then this kind of discussion.

The Butterfly thing is as bad as having your Women's belt in the shape of a heart. I really think that set "girl power" back a few years.

I would love for the E to bring ack the Womens Title, but I'm terrified it will fall into the wrong hands. Truth be told, that belt will do absolutely nothing for the divas division, unless the people backstage start caring. Someone, I can't remember who, said that the division is always focussed on one diva, which is true to an extent, and to be completly honest when the division was focussed on the likes of Melina, McCool, Beth.P and Mickie, I could really have cared less because I was getting quality matches and semi-decent to good storylines. But now there so far up K2's ass it's hard to watch. She's stepped up as best she can but it's just not enough, she can't carry a division the way the divas above could. Here's how it should be, IMO :

RAW - Womens Championship
Melina
McCool (when/if she returns)
Beth.P
Kharma
Gail.K
Maryse - I know some people will disagree because of her wrestling skills, but she has the look and charisma of a champion, 2/3 of the pie is enough for me

Smackdown - Divas Title
A.Fox
Eve Torres
AJ Lee
The Bellas
K2
Tamina - Yeah I said it, I really haven't the slightest idea why people go ape shit over her, besides her heritage, I've seen nothing

I realy am on the fence with Layla

And if a divas shows up and impresses, move her to Raw for the next draft

Unfortunately, I don't see this happening for years to come

They retired the Women's title because none of the current Diva's aren't worthy of carry the Women's title. They barely have two working divisions as well. They have Diva's on each show, but their not using the ones they have correctly.

Without their two top Diva's (McCool and Layla) the division is suffering. Natalya Neidhart & Beth Phoenix should be the top two Diva's because their the only two that can really put on an impressive match, yet they push the worst 3 Diva's they have (Kelly Kelly, and the Bella twins) McCool and Layla had a pretty good thing going until McCool had to step away to take care of Taker, and Layla got injured now thats done. Kharma looked to be bringing something great and finally interesting to the WWE Diva's Division but that was ruined due to her getting knocked up.

The Womens Division in the WWE is just as bad as the IC/US and Tag Divisions, theres talent there, but none of its being used properly.

Um.. I do! And I actually support the WWE Divas 100%. The womens wrestling division is a legit divisiion and it deserves more than it gets. Whether its a bra and panties match or Trish and Lita Maineventing Raw, it all has its place.

After that statement most of yopu are thinking but that was years ago! So what?!? Divas are Divas and they will always have a rightful place on the roster. Some of you will say that a handfull of the current divas can hold themselves in the ring whilst the rest suck! True! But how are they meant to improve with one title and no actual given time to produce a great match? They need more time and the womens championship brought back would be great! The Bellas as current champs are doing a hell of a job and prove that even the 'models' can work.

They could bring in a midcard title for the women and/or a tag team titles for the women , allow them to dress a bit skimpier like the TNA knockouts , allow them to actually have fueds/talk like the TNA knockouts , and allow them to have extreme match types... like the TNA knockouts

I don't even know why the WWE divas continue at their current jobs , if I was a WWE diva I'd do everything in my power to jump ship to the "A" company of womens wrestling (TNA)

Ok well that makes alot more sense to have a diva non PG channel. Having Divas dress second to nothing while honing their mic skills, in ring skills and people skills lol makes sense! That is a plauisible idea

Absolutely not. First of all the division is so awful right now that not even having the belt dual branded will generate interest. Secondly, like JGlass pointed out, nobody wants to see MORE womens wrestling in WWE right now. There is no reason to bring back the Women's Championship because they are better off adding prestige to the belt they already have, after they fix the endless list of things that are wrong with the divas division, that is.

Tonights Raw hammered home why bringing back the Woman's Championship would be a terrible idea. It's hard to find a justification for one woman's title at this point, with 2-3 minute matches and no investment in character development whatsoever. WWE was giving us a reason to care about the females with Kharma, but it's as if they dropped any plans to do anything with the Divas upon her becoming pregnant. When your division lives and dies by one person, you're in deep trouble. The good ones such as Beth Phoenix and Natalya are woefully underutilized. I can't think of a single good reson to bring back the Women's Championship unless they dropped the Divas title due to the former being more prestigious. But right now, the state of the division is an insult to the women who can work and adding a second title would magnify its problems even moreso, as impossible as that seems.

If you read the entire thread you would have found that it was mentioned that it could be on Spike TV, non PG, and even non wrestling fans would like.

First off, to me, the Womens championship is vacated and gone because no divas are capable of holding the title and bringing and keeping the prestige it had with past divas (Sable, Trish, Lita, Victoria, etc.)

Gaga777 posted that the divas should dress skimpy and that would probably bring in ratings. Wait, so what else have all the Diva's been doing? The Divas are there for eye candy and thats why that fucking shitty butterfly pink & silver Diva's Championship is there. The prestgious title, The Women's championship was held by women who showed not only could they be sexy, but they could have as much skill as the men did (once again, Chyna, Sable, Lita, Victoria, Jacquline), those women could LIFT half of the other men. They had true skill and as a chick, I looked up to them as inspiration.

Present day, we have divas like Kaitlyn, the DREADFUL Bella Twins and Kelly fucking, 'Barbie, stripper' Kelly, and Rosa Mendes there as, "serious" wrestlers. You have got be kiddin me! This just goes to show you how BAD the Diva's Championship is, it's on fucking Brie fucking Bella! Diva's like Natalya, Beth, Melina, Kharma (when she returns) should be the faces of the brands, they should be carrying the brands but now, it seems Kelly Kelly is the face of the diva roster of the Raw Brand

Personally, bringin' back the Women's Championship would not only be a disgrace to the past diva's who've held it, to show what it really means to be a female competitor, but that would also be a disgrace to the some of the Wrestling fans who actually care about things of value and prestigue.

Whenever im watching a WWE PPV, when ever i see or hear about the "Divas title" it sounds like we're about to see a badly recorded high school chick fight. The title just doesnt scream IMPORTANT simply because it sounds childish. The womens title actually sounds legitamate and worth while because of its history, and it can be considered a "world title" for women just as the WWE and WHC are for the guys.

Because if you are unaware how it works they are locked into contracts for a period of time or they can be sued. When that contract is done they have the option to renew (if offered) or part ways. Most get released before either

Yes!!! The divas title is a joke! It sounds like a toy or a name title. Like i said on a recent thread about this, Whenever it gets announced on a PPV or TV it sounds like were about to see a high school chick fight. A womens title match sounds like a LEGIT world title for the divas.
