Bring Back Lex Luger

Occasional Pre-Show
I know what some of you are thinking........TERRIBLE IDEA! I don't mean bring him back as an in ring talent, but an on air talent. Maybe even just for a month, but if you have seen that Lex Luger vs a CWF T-shirt on youtube then you know how funny a gimmick from that could be. Random interviews and maybe even an announcer position. I personally think the guy is hillarious. Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

Luger's segment was hilarious as was the prank phone call that kid ended up doing to a suicide hotline while remaining in Lex Luger's character the whole time. I don't think McMahon would ever want Luger back after the way Luger just up and left his angle open on Raw back in 1995. It made the WWF look pretty stupid when he no-showed the main event that night in a tag match with Davey Boy and the commentary team (Vince and Lawler) continued under the pretesne that Luger was home dealing with a family emergency. That family emergency happened to be the debut of WCW Monday Nitro.

the guy has been busted for dealing huge amounts of steroids from his house and gym, he helped in the death of elizabeth, he looks horrible...no way id bring him on tv. ever.

theres too many hungry young guys out there who havent screwed up their lives like he did. id give an unknown scrubbie a chance before luger.

Luger is a waste of space, he's on par with Jake Roberts in the unreliability stakes. I remember a few years ago when there was intrest in bringing Sting into WWE, apparently Sting was willing to join if they also gave Luger a chance.

Luger is the best, my all time fav after Sting and yes I think that would be a kick ass idea cuz he can be entertaining when he makes up his mind and can be more interesting than Hogan just think about the early NWA yrs matches and feuds,All american yrs in WWF bodyslamming Yoko on that ship etc, and countless moments in WCW...

You're the worst guy ever.

Hogan and Batista are terrible wrestlers, but not as bad as Luger. Luger is what sucking is. Cena and JBL are passable wrestlers and much better than Luger. And HHH is an outstanding wrestler and you should be banned for stupidity for saying Luger is above him. Luger is almost as bad as Sid. Bringing him in would make WWE even worse, which believe or not, is possible. There's no place for him. And it'd just give people another reason so say Vince has lost his brain.

For my money, Luger was a solid performer pre-1998, his steroid-use took a toll on his speed and he now moves around like Hulk Hogan does as a result. The only thing most of the "my balls haven't dropped yet" crowd who frequents messageboards usually remembers is his ending tenure in WCW and his last interview about Billy What's His Name. There was a time when he was worth his namesake and was indeed, The Total Package. For anyone who doubts, watch his match against Hennig at Wrestlemania IX. He delivered a powerslam that Samoa Joe would be envious of. The only one one on your list I wouldn't put him ahead of in terms of ability (when Lex was in his physical prime) would be HHH. Levesque can work with just about anyone, and Luger was constricted to functioning best against other heavyweights. People in the industry knock him these days, but he was in fact booked as a main eventer numerous times by Bischoff and McMahon throughout the 90's, including a week-long title run (which Hogan put the kibosh on). In 1996 and 1997 he was probably the top face in WCW and received mad pops for racking everyone, including Paul Wight. The only thing that derailed title runs in the WWF was his stupidity, and unfortunately for Lex, that stupidity also killed the momentum of Wrestlemania X, which even Bret Hart couldn't really save.

In his prime Luger shitted on Batista,Cena Hogan and JBL in the ring plain and simple.. When it came to his physique Lex surpassed HHH and lived up to his name that is a fact.He could of racked in anyone including yoko, The Giant, Scott Norton, Nash etc etc. Hell in his prime I would say he was the strongest wrestler alive.. I mean the guy was chiseled.. Luger is a legend no if but or maybe even if he wasnt a technical wonder...

For starters, this make no sense what so ever. And I don't care how strong he is. Strength is not a wrestling skill. Hence why Goldberg is one of the worst wrestlers ever. He sucks in the ring. End of story. You can't defend his in ring ability because there's none to defend.

I want to clarify one more time my whole point. I think the guy is funny. I would no longer use him in the ring. I would use him for stupid skits to make me laugh. That youtube video is seriously the hardest that I have ever laughed at anything wrestling related. They could make a whole gimmick just off of that. I don't know, it was just a thought. I agree that his lack of reliability, past drug use, etc. all are against him, but hell even Jake Roberts got an extra chance in the mid 90s and even got to the finals of the king of the ring against austin. I just say why not? WWE TV is so stale right now, I am ready to see some old legends.

I kinda agree with you on the fact that Luger can be a hilarious color commentator, hell he would be more funny than lawler and more hilarious than Justin Bra.. I mean JBL from seeing that youtube video and from other stuff I have read off the net..

I'm new to the board, so I hope I'm not 'violating' any 'policy' on here by posting links..but the idea of bringing back Lex Luger in any on air capacity in either WWE or TNA is so beyond words to the point that I think the following video really says it all.

luger was a really good wrestler before his motorcycle accident. The said thing is everyone remembers Luger post accident becasue shortly after that wrestling started blowing up and the Monday Night Wars started up and thats how Luger is remembred.

i doubt if vm or anyone would let him bak in the wwe as already said the family emergency that made him not contest that tag team main event match wth davey boy smith was him going to wcw if he would of told vince he was going to wcw he might have a marginal chance of going bak but double crossing vince isnt a brainy idea and if anyone has seen tna lately he came bak along wth buff bagwell for one match only and he looked really out of shape.

Once again though HBK, it wouldn't be to wrestle. It would just be an on air talent. I mean take a look at Ron Simmons (Farooq) now. Everytime he comes out and just says "damn" I almost fall off of the couch laughing. I am saying that the wwe should bring Lex back in a small role just to add some comic relief from what has become a boring DX angle, a watered down WWE Champion (cena) and not much else happening. I think Lex could add some humor, thats all.

yes i agree it could bring some funnynies to raw but i doubt if he could be employed by vkm because of that family emergency and because he was one of the first superstars to defect to the wcw and you say ron simmons came bak with the damn thing but he is wrestling at ss and probaly after that at least he looks like half as good in his heyday while lex luger looks nothing like his heyday

Great point before the accident Luger shitted on justin Bradshaw in the ring and in his prime HHH(around 99-04) or Chris Masters physique had nothing on Luger's..

There is one reason you will never see Lex on WWE TV... You can guarantee they won't be able to edit out the "You Killed Liz" chants...

As they say a lot in the wrestling business, "never say never".

I think that Lex (who was pretty good in his prime 10-15 years ago) has just as good a chance of getting back into the WWE as the Ultimate Warrior.
