Better Michael Jackson remake.

FromTheSouth

You don't want it with me.
I am a Michael Jackson fan. Sure he touched little boys. allegedly But his music is great, and you can tell by the new remakes of his songs. So with that in mind, which remake do you prefer?

David Cook's Billie Jean

or Fall Out Boy's Beat It

I know Fall Out Boy is trendy, and well, bad, but there music is catchy, and this song is no exception. I pick David Cook though. His song is haunting, and it completely makes the song his own. I know there is a Chris Cornell cover of it too, but I prefer Cook's, so he made the cut.

David Cook by a mile! Although it's the Chris Cornell "version" it was bloody amazing. He made the song his own and he could have released it and almost get away with it. Cook delivers a great vocal and really makes his song his own. I still listen to the song once in a while, and I actually don't think Michael Jackson when I'm hearing it. This is the song that made me want Cook to win.

Fall Out Boy's version is poppy and alright, but everyone just always compared it to the Jackson version calling it a cheap rip/off. Neither are as good as the originals but Cook's interpretation really made his version great.

The all-time greatest remake of an MJ song is Alien Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal.

I can't stand Fall Out Boy, or anything American Idol, and AAF's stays pretty close to the original, while still adding it's own touch to it. It's my all-time favorite song from him, and is one of the only ones to have adecent cover, unless you count Weird Al's Eat It.

I don't see why Fall Out Boy gets all this hatred for. They're a good band who make catchy, easy songs to listen to and if people just stopped hating them because it makes them look 'kewl' and if you actually sat through one of their albums and listened to the lyrics you would be quite suprised. I was quite sceptical of Fall Out Boy at first but then I saw one of their albums for cheap, purchased it and I liked it. Sure, they're not the best, but they're not trying to be. The only thing I will fault them on is their live performances aren't the best.

With that being said, after watching the American Idol dude sing that, I have to say I prefer Fall Out Boy's version of Beat It. I don't see what's so bad about it. It's a good, catchy cover of an awesome song. What more do you want?
