Who do you think is the best MC of all time? Why?
This honor could go to quite a few people, Rakim, KRS-One, hell even Nas, but none of those guys are my choice. I think that Canabis takes the cake, but barely. Sure, he's not the most well known, nor has he recieved all kinds of awards, but he is so lyrically gifted that sometimes I get awestruck. He has a raw sound, while at the same time he keeps up a consistent flow. His unique sound is unmatched, and his ability to come up with things off the top of his head is insane. He is also very intelligent about his rhymes, so he comes up with intricate lines and rhyming patterns. The big thing on top of all that, though, is how long he can keep it up for. He can go for ten minutes and not ever repeat a line. He has a natural knack, a natural gift.
My second place guy is Rakim. Hell, for me it was a toss up between him and Canabis, but I think that Canabis is just so vastly talented and underrated that I had to give it to him. To me, and to the whole hip hop community, Rakim is a living legend. The man laid the groundwork and absolutely killed it on the mic. His flow will forever be remembered, it is truly legendary.
