Best entrance in wrestling - does the honour still belong the the Undertaker?

Mr. Artistic guy

Better Off This Way
This popped into my head as watching alberto del rio roll into the building in yet another undoubtedly extrordinarily expensive car. The personal ring announcer, the theme which sounds like it was created to really annoy people, the gold sparks dropping as he grins and winks towards the camera and the ring. I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that del rio now automatically has THE best entrance going but there is so much effort being spent to make him look good and a great amount of attention to detail making it a worthwhile consideration for sure. Other entrances that I'm currently very high on are jeff hardy's, unsuprisingly as you can see from my pic john morrisons, mr anderson and orton's.

But my question is basically, who does your favorite entrance in wrestling currently belong to? And is that only the case until the undertaker once again returns?

Obviously state any reasons for your answers and keep it clean eh, no arguing......like thats going to work!

Sorry I have no idea how I forgot mcintyre's, probably my personaly favorite.

Currently, I'd have to go with AJ Styles. Like you, I'm very high on Jeff Hardy's entrance and it fits his heel gimmick so well. But Styles' entrance with the pyro and everything really does it for me. I kinda miss the old days where he came out with a hood instead of a robe and flip it when the pyro hit. His song is also one of my favorites in all of wrestling so I guess that has a lot to do with it.

Jeff Hardy's new theme really fits his heel character. The smoke adds in a mysterious feel to Jeff. The music, even though I can't understand what its saying, is really a heel song. Add in the dark light and his slow walk to the ring, it probably the best entence for a heel in TNA.

I also love Alberto Del Rio's entrance. The car makes him stand out as a serious heel. He always drives Bentley's to the ring which means he's rich. As soon as the crowd hear the horn they boo. The raining gold pyro goes so well with his attire. It also reminds me so much of a World Heavyweight Championship and royalty. Best entrance currently in WWE.

Of course none of these entrances can hold a candle to The Undertaker's or even Triple H's entrances.

I love Taker's entrance, especially when it come to Wrestlemania. Seeing the druids hold the torches as The Deadman walks down the aisle is always cool, and watching him glide towards the ring at Wrestlemania 21 was something to admire. The Undertaker's entrances always have this eerie feeling. The fire, the smoke, and the darkness are all great elements for Undertaker's entrance, because they go perfect with his character. I can always remember Jim Ross saying how Taker would win the match before the bell even rung, because his entrance would strike fear into the hearts of his opponents.

I guess I would have to pick Del Rio's entrance. The fancy cars, the personal ring announcer, and the pyro shower are all extravagant elements which go perfect with Del Rio's character. I can still remember how I went nuts this past Sunday when I was at Survivor Series. Seeing Del Rio's entrance in person was unreal.

Del Rio's entrance reminds me too much of JBL's entrance. If you watch the videos, you will see quite a comparrison.

Personally, I would have to say that the best entrance ever belongs to The Brood. Rising up through the stage surrounded by fire... AWESOME! It brought a whole new level of intimidation to the sport.

Honorable Mentions:
1. nWo black and white
2. Goldust
3. John Morrison
4. DX

Definatly Randy Ortons, but no can even touch undertaker when it comes to entnaces though, he has the best entrances ever, but especially his WM ones though there on a whole new level.Don't beleive me,though. Don't belive me though? I've got some proof...

Yeah I have to say it does. The Taker entrance is not my favourite, but I can see it is clearly the best. It really is epic. Who else has a 5 minute entrance?! Maybe Triple H comes close but thats it.

From the "gong" to the smoke, the druids to the light coming on slowly as Taker raises his arms, the entrance really does feel supernatural, and suits the character better than any other entrance could.

WWE got this entrance absolutely spot on, and I believe it adds so much to the Undertaker as a character

The Undertaker's entrance has never been my favorite because it seems so long and boring to me. My favorite entrance of all time has to be Shawn Michaels'. Noone can make an entrance like HBK. The fireworks are amazing and he has some really good music especially with Sherri yelling his name. His entrance at Wrestlemania 12 was epic. Noone has ever made a better entrance then that and I beleive if Owen hart wouldn't have died he would have done it again when he returned at summerslam 2002 or maybe another wrestlemania.

My favorite Entrance at the moment from the active roster has to be the Miz. I might be bias since I am a Miz mark but I love how it starts out saying, "AWESOME" Now that is great. Then you have the entrance theme itself which is really good.

Personally, Im partial to Kurt Angle's TNA entrance. The ominous music to start, the wilting rose, and Kurt coming up through the stage. Just epic.

Having seen Taker's entrance live, though, I see your point. It's honestly hard to argue against it. Its just larger then life and a spectacle in and of itself. It's a bit long for my liking, but when you see it live, it gives you chills.

But overall, my personal favorite is Kurt Angle's entrance in TNA. Its unique and ominous at the same time, and it fits Kurt perfectly. And no, thats not until Taker returns, I prefer Kurt's.

I gotta go with Stone Cold Steve Austin. It aint a stylish entrance like Taker's or HHH's but damn when that glass breaks, not even Taker, HHH or anyone else that's been named so far or will be named can receive the pop The Rattlesnake gets, well with the exception of The Rock & maybe Hogan in his heyday.

I can't believe nobody has sai =d this one yet...

But seriously I'd say Triple H's, Iv have sometimes fallen asleep during Undertakers entrance and match winning celebrations @ ppv's

Honorable mentions go to Kurt Angle TNA entrance, T.B.P , Albertio Del Rio, Randy Orton 2003/2004, Batista "Give me my spotlight!", Melina (Before it went pg) :banghead:

Ohh and I forgot Triple H's entrance @ mania 22, Greatest of all thee times!

Taker rules it hands down. If you ever get a chance to see one live I highly recommend it. Its much different then watching one on television.

I'll give a close number 2 tie between Alberto Del Rio and Kurt Angle. Their entrances that just....well fit and fit perfectly.

One thing I wanna say though is John Morrison's entrance is vastly overrated. The music just kills it for me and I can't take the man seriously at all.

Eh? What? How can an entrance be over rated, you either like it or you don't. Obviously the point is that some have more features and attention to detail which makes them technically better but and the end of the day you like it or you don't. Case and point - some guy said the miz's entrance?! All the Miz does is walk out, he doesn't do anything at all but I respect his opinion.

I swear if I could bottle all the wrestlezone hate and general animosity towards John Morrison, I could make a quentin tarrantino film....maybe even take over a small country.

I never said I hated John Morrison. Don't throw fanboy hate at me.

I'm mostly referring to every time he comes out Lawler or whoever announcer plays it up as "The coolest entrance in the WWE!" while most people generally agree its a great entrance. I'll agree its a cool entrance but an entrance is half music, half the person doing it. Take Drew Mcintyre an entrance that is widely praised here, Its a nice heel entrance with great music/decent selling from him personally. If he was doing it with his generic rock music, then it would be bland and uninteresting. If John Morrison had the same entrance however with something a lil more rock-esque (hes billed as a "rock star") then it would fit him that much better.

Undertaker defnitally has one of the best entrances in wrestling history. From the gongs to him signalling to turn the lights on, nothing tops it.

Undertaker's entrance is something to behold, for sure, but he's out of action for a while...

Visually (and the whole experience in general), I'm going to pick Kane's entrance as the best. Anyone who has ever been to a live TV Taping or Pay-Per-View with Kane on it know all to well just how damn loud and hot Kane's pyro can be (not to mention if you look directly at it, you go blind for like 15 seconds). When at live events, Kane's entrance is the only one that makes me jump every time and is the most remembered.

If this about wrestlers past and present, I'm going to have to go with the Great One himself, The Rock...no pyro, no camera effects, just his music, and the monstrous pop he would get from the crowd, that always made the hair on my arm stand on end, the guy wasnt the most electrifying man in sports entertainment for nothing. I also got the same effect when Black Sabbath's Iron man would queue and the Road Warriors would run in and murder jobbers.

D Generation X's Tank riding entry at summerslam last year was phenominal, whenever I hear that first "You think that you're better!?" I get chills going down my spine and when the tank comes out with DX riding it making x's with their arms and throwing glow sticks around it just blows me away, and then of course shawn shooting the machine gun from his crotch and Triple H using the main cannon and chopping just looks amazing, even the promo they cut after they got off the tank was amazing (If you girls want a war, you've GOT A WAR!!!)
funking incredible

To be honest, i feel that his entrances were great, No doubt. But they were never the best. My personal favorite and the one I think is the best is Gangrel/Brood.

The lights fade, the crowd hums as the song starts ''beware'' the whispers say in the song, then you see the blood strobing lights flashing on the entrance way. The flick of the fire begins to engulf the rectangular portion of the ramp. Them the fire is in full blaze, by this time, the drums kick in, and the dark synth of the song, perfectly crafted by Jim Johnson, overtake everyone ears. Then you see, the three sets of three blonde haired men rise like they are appearing from thin air. Edge smiling nodding his head to the beat, Gangrel laughing at the coming sacrifice in the room, and christian, the enigmatic member, silent and stone faced. Then the walk down the ramp in sync, and when Edge and christian enter the ring, Gangrel stands onto the steps, Letting the red light that matched the liquid in his chalice cover him, he drinks deeply, then, spews it into the air, letting it soak him and the front row with it.

All theatrical description aside, Everything about this entrance, overtakes the Undertakers, and ever since the Brood started, and ultimately ended too soon.

I've read at least two or three here naming the Rock and Austin as some of the coolest entrances and I have to disagree. Don't get me wrong, I mark out like you wouldn't believe when I hear the glass shatter or the Rock's music but it has more to do with who's coming out than the entrance itself.

Think about it. Glass shatters, crowd pops, Austin does BMF strut to the ring. Nothing remarkable about it. Same for the Rock. "If ya smell" hits, crowd pops, Rock comes to the rings giving everyone the People's Eyebrow.

The Undertaker's entrance is the coolest for all reasons mentioned.

As far as who comes after Taker, for me, it has to be HHH.

"Time to Play The Game" hits. Lights go dim with hazy green tint. Then out comes HHH playing to the crowd's emotions, negative or positive. Then he does his water spitting thing. I swear I've never marked out to someone just spitting water. It's just one of the most intense entrances I've seen. The selection of Motorhead for the music helps out a lot.

This probably fires me up more than any other entrance.

I have to go with the Undertaker also as having the best entrance. Yes it is long but nothing can beat it. I love when he uses the druids first. I also love HHH's entrance.
Currently I am not sure who I would go with. I like Randy Orton and Drew Mcintire's (sorry I can not spell his name) entrances. I love Orton's music and Drews entranc is really cool. Shawn Michaels had a great entrance that fit his character perfectly but I hated that damn music, lol. Him singing it use to get on my nerves.

Having seen Taker's entrance live, though, I see your point. It's honestly hard to argue against it. Its just larger then life and a spectacle in and of itself. It's a bit long for my liking, but when you see it live, it gives you chills.

I agree with this. When I saw the entrance live at a pay-per-view last year, it blew me away. It was the first time I had expericenced it live. The whole thing feels like an ENTRANCE. Not a guy coming to the ring, but someone heading into battle. His music made me actually want to fight the guy next to me. Everything about his entrance is big time. At Wrestlemania it is probably the most intense experince in WWE . Throw in the fact that he usually doesn't lose at Wrestlemania and it becomes legendary.

I remember being sat at the very end of the rampway at WM25 when Taker came out and you could actually feel the heat from the flames from that distance, and i thought to myself, 'how does he manage to walk all the way down the aisle without collapsing from the heat, especially in that massive trench coat and hat?'

And when he got flame grilled at last years EC, i was shocked that he even considered going on with the match after all that.

But i'd personally have to agree with Twizted's choice of Gangrel's. As much as i used to love guys like Al Snow (WHAT DOES EVERYBODY WANT?) and the NAO (Oh you didn't know?....), Gangrel's rising up through the flames was always something to behold whenever he appeared, even if he was going to job for 80% of his WWE run.

The music, the blood red strobe lighting, the flames on the stage and the spitting blood on the audience to make it look like he had just fed, just completely encapsulated Gangrel's character.
