Why FSM Is Crap By Y 2 Jake.
Taken from the current issue.
The Curtain Jerk: Why does the editor do an opening monologue? There is no need. This isn't Heat. Nobody wants to hear the ramblings of some skinny little internet geek. He talks about stuff that doesn't need talking about. Certainly not a whole page.
News: Most wrestling news can be summed up in a couple of sentences. Which they do at the bottome. But they will then give a half page on something that really isn't very important.
English Wrestling: Nobody buys the magazine to read about shit promotions, and wrestlers you've never heard of. LDN might be the highest rated show on TWC, but that's because Impact isn't on there anymore, and ROH is a bastard to find. It's also on more than everything else.
Letters: Most of the letters could have been written by me. They're rambling & incoherent. A total waste of space. Somebody will then dissect the letter. They will then bash the person who has taken the time to write a letter. They also do it in forum styles. Because that's what the magazine is. It's some guys who were good forum posters, talking about wrestling. Now All the good wrestling posters on this board are entertaining to read over the computer. But they couldn't write about wrestling in a magazine.
Big Show: 5 pages talking about him, and what should be done with him. They could sum it up in about 3.
TNA Comedy Gimmicks: 5 pages on how the TNA comedy gimmicks are actually really good.
MMA: 6 page interview with Marcus Davis. Sure they cover MMA too. But this isn't Tito Ortiz, Rampage, or Liddell. No need for that long of an interview with him.
Angle vs. Joe: 4 pages on their Lockdown match. Why?
The Storm Front: The best bit about the mag.
MMA X2: 5 more pages of MMA interviews. These are great though.
DCW: Heard of it? Me neither. 2 pages.
Jez Interview: 6 pages. I'm sure Echelon has heard of her.
Apter's Alley: Great most of the time. But on occasion makes a truly terrible article.
Alex Shane: 6 pages of Shane warbling. Not many peole know who he is, yet he's given a heavy percentage of the whole magazine.
Big Show Reviews: These are pretty good. Enjoyable to read.
DVD Reviews: 7 pages of reviews.Reviews for DVDs that aren't really big releases, available in the UK etc.
The Crap Shoot: Entertaining.
Overall it's just an awful magazine. Terrible. A magazine shouldn't give personal opinions, not throughout. It should give facts. Nobody cares if the writer enjoyed a certain match, all they want to know is if it's considered a good match. Also notice how the mag is about 50% pictures. For fucks sake, you don't read picture.
