"I'm supposed to do what now?"

On Impact MVP asked Austin Aries to join his team for Lethal Lockdown. Aries thought about it but MVP didn't really put much on the table, even having doubts when discussing the subject. It's clear now that Aries will somehow be involved in the Lethal Lockdown match, his role right now remains a mystery, but what about beyond Lockdown? Lets face it. There's no way this man will stay away from the main feuds long. He's just gotten caught in the Dixie/MVP struggle. But how should things go for him?

I for one recall his first match with AJ Styles in the BFG Series last year. Aries mentioned AJ carried TNA for it's first 10 years. But that he would carry it for the following 10. Since his re-debut in 2011, he's won the X Division title 4 times, is a Tag Team Champion and of course World Champion along with coining "Option C". That's a hell of a lot in little time. I feel he wasn't kidding when he told AJ that. He's well rounded in the ring and popular out of it. I believe that he, and not Samoa Joe, is TNA's true top talent waiting to happen. Armed with the X Division title and Destination X a few months off, I feel Austin Aries will be TNA's next big face.

Aries will without a doubt succeed in TNA where AJ failed. I mean that in the sense of I doubt he'll let TNA take liberties with him like they did with AJ (booking him as the lackey to stars such as Christian and Angle or doing things like the Claire Lynch story). A lot of people blame Aries's World title run for the downfall of Storm's main event run but the simple fact is that he's better than him, AJ, Sting, Hardy, and Joe all as main event faces.

He can't be a heel right now because he'd be lost in the shuffle with the likes of Magnus, Roode, and EC3, as much as I like Joe he's just the fall guy to build Magnus up. A lot of people said he wouldn't take the belt off Roode but he did and I wouldn't be surprised to do the same thing to Magnus soon enough. Aries is just too good in the ring, on the mic, and everywhere else to feud with the likes of Sabin, Ion, or any other X-Division scrub of the week.

or maybe it's just playing up the fact that his character cares about himself and noone else? So MVP sais join me and Aries is like yeah and what's in it for me, if we lose i'm screwed and if we win how does that benefit me more then the current situation where he's not being bothered by anyone given he's in the lost 2 man XDivision division.

I'd say logically he doesn't do anything indicating where he sits and then he does a swerve at the PPV costing Dixie, cause seriously they can't be thinking of dragging out Dixie's onscreen rain any longer, it's already killing interest and any credibility Magnus may have ever had.

It's interesting because you have Bobby Roode as well in a situation where if his team wins he get 10% & if they lose then he'll have to continue sulking.

You've got Joe, Anderson & the returning Hardy as the top faces, I think there is room there to add Aries into the mix, if they have a BFG series this year I'd like to see Aries win it.

Post Lockdown I was really hoping for a Roode vs Joe feud, but, since it appears Roode is heading down the Beer Money track for now, a heel Aries vs Joe feud would have all the makings of fantastic thanks.

I'm really not sure why Austin Aries isn't the biggest face in TNA right now. I mean, this guy is so charismatic and is really good in the ring. He's got all the tools to lead a company. Hell, he's TNA's CM Punk if you will. Let me explain that. What I mean by that is Aries should be getting the push that Punk did when he became a star with the rebel route that WWE went with. Aries and Punk are almost carbon copies of each other in that they can both lead each wrestling company as the top face.

He's gotten to big for the X-Division, which I hope they fix with all these new signing coming up. He belongs in the main event and nowhere else. I've read the spoilers as to where Aries goes from here but I won't say but I just hope that they capitalize on Aries because he's just too good not to be featured more on TNA programming.
