Several youths have been questioned by police over a homemade DVD showing a teenage girl being sexually abused and degraded by up to a dozen boys.

The DVD had been circulating among high school children in Melbourne's west and on the internet and was being sold for $5.

Police warn anyone viewing or downloading the film risks child pornography charges.


Victoria Police Senior Constable Michael Henry said charges were yet to be laid over the film, which includes graphic footage of a young woman being sexually abused and her hair set alight.


"Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad have tonight spoken to several of the youths over the Werribee DVD investigation," Snr Const Henry said.

He said police would speak to other youths thought involved in filming the incident - which occurred in June at Werribee - "over the next few days".

"No one has been charged at present," Snr Const Henry said.

"And any decision in relation to charges will be made once all evidence has been assessed and all people involved have been spoken to."

The interviews came after several groups of parents of the boys came forward to hand their sons in to police.

Police have also described their investigation into the shocking DVD, which was sold in schools west of Melbourne, as "in its early stages".

They have again appealed for anyone with information on its production to make contact.

^^ This was truly a sick day in melbourne history. This girl is somewhat mentally challenged and was taken and forced to engage in oral sex with up to 12 boys who urinated on her tore her cloths of and set her hair on fire. These 12 should be shot for there actions and there is no ifs or buts about it.

Most kids and teenagers today have no decency or common sense or even compassion for anything. This issue is just one in a number of disgusting acts shown by todays youths and even though I am a kid, I am getting sick and tired of it. More so than the kids, I get sick and tired of the parents who do not give a shit about anything and allow their children to go out and do this kind of thing without disciplining them or anything. Just recently here, up in Cairns a group of teenage girls stole an elderly man's money till from his roadside fruit stall, and fled the scene after pelting him with fruit and being chased away by angered motorists who stopped to help. Today, there is too much racism, bullying - which includes mocking the disabled and mentally disabled, and abuse in our society, all of which are being shone through in our schools. From what I have experienced, kids do not give a flying f*** about their education at all, and only care about their next drag from the 'rollie' or who's bringing the weed to whoever's house, and now they think it's cool to do what they did to that girl, and to have the audacity to put it up on the internet. How can children be so stupid and have no decency at all? Most kids need to grow up and just look at themselves. If they don't do that, you can expect more of these sorts of things to happen.

These sorts of things have now dropped off a little and I think that is because society has really become more protective of themselves after the last few years because all Australians remember Daniel Morcombe, and his abduction really opened our eyes up to the fact that our country may not be as safe as we like to think it is, but these incidents are always going to be a part of any society today, and that is a shame and I thought I would bump this thread because there were some interesting comments in it.
