Phoenix

WZCW's First Triple Crown Champion
These two have crossed paths before, but their intentions have different circumstances this time around. Showtime is looking to get that final push of momentum to help carry him to success in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Redemption while Gordito looks to help build up endurance against the man who could be considered to be as mad as Baez. Both men will not wish to lose this week as their Pay Per View opponents will look to cease upon any misfortune.

Deadline is Tuesday 24th May 23:59 EST

Scene opens up in a hallway at WZCW Studios. Dr. Steve is speaking with Dr. Philpotter on a cell phone.

Dr. Steve: I don’t understand how his condition could have gotten worse..... Yes he has been acting a little more irrational and bizarre, but to be fair he has been under a lot of pressure. Redemption might be his last opportunity at the World Title. WZCW’s roster is stacked with talent..... Yes I know it is just a pretend sport..... You’re right I’m sorry, his health is not a joke. It’s important he remains healthy..... Yes Dr Steve he has been taking his medication, including the pills you sent 2 weeks ago..... I have it all documented..... no I wasn’t with him every time, the man has been traveling a lot rebuilding his image. I would call him up on those occasions when I wasn’t with him and get him to send me a live video of him taking it.....No that’s ridiculous doctor. Why would he purposefully not be taking his meds.... Like I said, I’ve been there when he takes them at least 75-80% of the time... never seen him not take them..... Yes I would consider what he does a form of acting... so what you’re saying is..... oh... oh god... I’m... I promise I’ll keep more watch of him... What... you’re sending over a new medication you want him to take....... You want me to inject him with it... Okay... alright. Hey wait... how much did you say to use again...? Hello... dammit.

Dr. Steve’s phone has died. He bangs his forearm against the wall and then shakes it off a bit in pain before walking off camera.

----------

Scene reopens with Dr. Steve standing in front of Showtime’s dressing room door. Standing behind Dr. Steve are two large hospital staff workers. Dr. Steve knocks of the door.

Showtime it’s me Dr. Steve. Can you let me in.

Dr. Steve waits for a bit and then, after six different lock opening sounds, the door opens and Showtime is standing there with a big smile on his face. He seems clearly inebriated, and the liquor and pill bottles that are scattered around the room only confirm it.

Cougar: Steve-O, Stevie. I bet you’re here to watch me take one of those amazing pills you guys have given me to cure me disorder. Well let’s do this.

Showtime reaches into his pocket and pulls out a random pill and pops it into his mouth. Dr. Steve and his orderlies slowly walk into the room, the last one closing the door behind him.

What's with the serious faces guys. You're giving me the feeling like you are backing me into a corner.

Showtime looks around to see he has indeed backed up into a corner even though Dr. Steve and his crew are still advancing.

Showtime Dr. Phillpotter thinks that you haven't been properly taking your medicine. He says you haven't been taking them at all.

Now that's just crazy Steve. You know me. I wouldn't lie to you, nor would I jeopardize my chances at winning the WZCW championship, you know that.

I do Show. I do believe you. Unfortunately your blood work came back and there is no sign of any of the medication we have prescribed to you in your system.

Well... you see... the thing about that is...

With that Showtime tries to dart past the orderlies to get to the door, but they quickly grab him. Showtime struggles to break free, but the two large men slowly pin him down, allowing Dr. Steve to inject Showtime with the medication. Showtime’s eyes slowly start to close as the scene fades out.

----------

Scene reopens on the set of The Show. Everything is way more over the top then ever, with a huge stage big enough to fit a 20 piece band on the side, a 40 ft statue of Showtime complete with a waterfall and fountain at the base of the statue, balloons and a confetti machine, mini jets streaming above the stage and a 4 ft blimp hovering below the extremely high ceiling flashing random messages of Showtime's brilliance. An enormous bar that would make Charlie Sheen cry for joy sits off the side, and seated in the middle of the stage in a large throne-like chair is the host of this wondrous and amusing stage Showtime David Cougar.

Welcome one and all to the glorious return of The Show. I am your host, the king of all that I see, the prince of showmanship and entertainment, and the talk of all of WZCW and the whole entire Universe....... Showtime David Cougar!!!

And the cloud of fog that has blurred my judgement, the mist that has made my eyes water and made my fans weep for my health and well being, the haze that has plagued my success and disrupted my eventually destiny to one day hold the WZCW championship... has been lifted. Cast aside, I now see clearly... all the wonders and possibilities that I can create now that I am back in my comfort zone, back entertaining each and everyone of you spectators, back doing what I do best. And that is performing for you... all of you... Trent Stonewall, Dwight Chamberlin, Andrew Donaldson, Fast Eddy, all of guys, even that dancing monkey and juggling bear over to the side.

Showtime points off the stage. The figures created by Showtimes
schizophrenia turn to see the dancing monkey and the bear juggling
four cylinder tubes.

And those two perfectly describe my opponents at Redemption when I get my revenge on WZCW and all who have stunted my rise to the top at the perfectly titled PPV. The dancing monkey best represents Austin Reynolds.

The monkey jumps up and down screaming. When no one watches him, he runs to the wall and then does a back flip of it.

You see, much like Austin Reynolds, this monkey is desperate for any attention. It will scream and jump up and down until someone notices him. But then after he has gotten our attention, we see that there is little more that he can do. We become board watching this monkey dance and move our attention on to more exciting animals. Austin Reynolds is all flash without any substance. Austin Reynolds has been babied by management, given weeks off and facing weak opponents because the company feels they can back of this supposed Ratings Winner. The only winner in all of this is Austin and the fat cheques he must be cashing doing his little trampoline act. Austin enjoy your easy match against Beer or whatever alcohol that guy is named after. I’m sure victory over him will be as refreshing for you as it will be for me to see you fall miserably on your face at Redemption.

And then moving on to the juggling bear who represents Ty Burna. A large dominating animal who also happens to be able to perform an entertaining trick or two. But every animal has it’s weaknesses and every trick can be solved. I have beaten this monster Ty Burna before. I have withstood his punishment and dished out as much damage in return. Ty has fallen into a false sense of dominance from beating such inferior competition for many months now, but in his mind he knows that I have won before and can do it again, and that his simple tricks he’s been using on his competition will have no affect on me. I am a trained performer, who can pull of just about any feat, and at Redemption I will pull off what is now being hailed as the biggest feat, defeating Ty Burna in a match. And I will have the utmost pleasure of being able to do it with my vanilla dopple ganger in the match. Heck if I really wanted to take the easy way I could simply take out that copy cat ratings stealer and win my WZCW Championship that way. It is not of matter of when, it is a matter of how I will win the WZCW Championship, but how I will pull off this monumental event at Redemption.

Showtime reaches beside his throne and pulls out two WZCW Matil Action Figures. Ty Burna and Austin Reynolds. Which you can get exclusively at WZCW.com

At Redemption, my two greatest foes shall compete with me at Redemption for the title. And while these two fight it out, thinking they have victory within their grasp. That is when I will close the curtain down upon them, and turn the spot light off upon their careers.

Showtime bashes the two figures against one and other and drops them laughing. Meanwhile footsteps can be heard.

I didn’t know I was injecting him with twice the amount required... my phone died and I couldn’t get a hold of you. It’s what I thought you said... hang on... I think I finally found him.

Dr. Steve walks into a large room that once filmed The Show. The room has been fixed up, but there is still considerable damage remaining, as there has been no use for the room since Showtime canceled his show. Sitting on a pile of broken pieces of wood is Showtime, clothes tattered and slightly drooling. He has two rats in his hands and bangs them against one and other like action figures as Dr. Steve and his men go to get Showtime.

----------

Scene opens many days later. Becky Serra is standing in front of a wall about to interview someone.

Becky: Welcome back to WZCW. I’m standing next to one of the number 1 contenders for Ty Burna’s WZCW World Championship, Showtime David Cougar.

Showtime appears on camera now, dressed in ring attire. A booing sound can be heard from the live audience.

Now Showtime this is your first show back since your relapse over a week ago, can you update us on your condition.

Becky, for once my mind is no longer a chaotic mess and that I can see clearly now. I have been cleaned of all the drugs that were in my system. It was the hospitals fault that I was overdosed and now I am no longer being bogged down by the pills they were making me take. I ought to investigate them further on this matter as they may have been behind this disorder I so suddenly had. But I have neither the time nor the patience to look further into this matter. I have what will be the most important match in my career in a over two weeks at Redemption, and a warm up match this week to get myself ready.

Yes and it will be a challenging warm up for you this week as your opponent is none other that WZCW fan favourite Gordito at Ascension. You two previously had a match at Meltdown 53 with neither man coming out on top.

Yes I guess you could say that neither man was fighting for themselves that match. Hand picked by maybe the 2 biggest egos in WZCW and then us ourselves thinking more about our Kingdom Come matches than their silly match stipulation. I remember the contest very well and look forward to bringing that story to a conclusion this week.

And what are your thoughts about your opponent Gordito. Do you think he could surprise you again this week?

First of all there were no surprises with what I got out of Gordito at Meltdown. A sponge who give out as much damage as his round body can absorb.

Second, what are my thoughts about Gordito. I think I can pretty well sum up what everyone’s thoughts about Gordito are.... He’s a really nice guy. I mean really nice, he’d be the guy who could always lend you a buck when you needed to, offer you a hand to move, or help you eat some pizza and polish off some beers. So what am I going to say next about him. That nice guys finish last? Well that line is bogus Becky, because nice guys don’t finish last, nice guys go no where.

That’s right Gordito. You’re a real nice guy, but I know you haven’t finished last. Tell me what losers have been in two world title matches at PPV’s. Tell me what losers have beaten more guys than they’ve lost to, and tell me what losers have the fans screaming their name. Nice guys don’t finish last, nice guys go no where with their careers. How many title matches have you lost, how many times have you failed to win the big match. You’ve coasted through WZCW without ever dominating a division. Without ever having a legitimate feud. The fans didn’t even like you enough at Unscripted to chose you to face Constantine. Heck you call yourself a Mayhem legend and you have never even held the Mayhem Championship before. John Smith is more of a Mayhem Legend than you’ll ever be.

But your opponent at Redemption, Baez, he was once a really nice guy. In his own unique way of course. And he proved very success for a while as the fans cheered behind him in the Mayhem division. But when he felt he was ready to move up to the next level, he was unable to do so. He was a nice guy and he career was going no where. So he at last stopped being a nice guy and now his career is being talked about. He is being taken seriously again. I watched your contract signing last week Gordito, I saw you attack Baez he assaulted you. You had had enough being Mr Nice Guy and you took it to Baez. And if you could supply that energy, that anger into everyone of your matches, then baby you’d be a star in this business.

But that’s not who you are Gordito. You’re not the kind of guy who wants to do whatever it takes to win. To violently assault and take your opponents out of the match. You are the very opposite of your nickname, Dirty One. There is not a dirty thing about you except maybe your body odor. You are more like The Clean One. Hard working, friendly manner, play by the rules and try not to get hurt. But this is the big leagues kid and just like Ty, while friendly enough to offer you advice, inside the ring Ty doesn’t play nice and neither will I this Ascension. Gordito I will beat you until your round belly turns blue and hopefully for your sake you won’t feel like ever being a nice guys inside the ring again. I will topple you over Gordito and continue my path to Redemption where I claim my rightful title. Gordito is about to become the next lucky man to receive 5 minutes of fame with Showtime. Unfortunately for him there will be no happy ending to this nice guy story. Thank you for the interview Becky.

Showtime walks off screen as Becky concludes the interview.
