This Puertorican wrestler stands out to most fans for being involved with TNA for some time since it's inception in 2002 and his teaming with D' Lo Brown. He is also a major star in Puerto Rico. Well, at least he was. The man was once robbed in the town of Ponce (2006 I believe). Not only that, but also he was arrested in 2007 for missing to pay child support. He was released after his friends helped him pay it. But it didn't end there. Several months after that, he was once again arrested. This time on charges of domestic violence on his current (as in back then and still today) wife, a female wrestler known as Havana. The claim was that he twisted her wrist but bruisemarks on her neck led to that being pitted on him as well leading to his sentencing which he's been serving some time after his run in the NWA affiliated indies ended in 2009 coming from North Carolina he was grabbed by the authorities at the airport upon arrival. He has 10 months to go and was interviewed today via Puertorican TV show "SuperXclusivo" from the confines of the prison. During the interview, he expressed how sorry he felt and how now his family suffers for his mistakes and how sorry he is for what he did to his wife who he still loves and how his son wants to be a pro wrestler so they are never apart again breaking down in tears in the face of him acknowlodging his perceived failures in life.

That aside, Apolo showed all these feelings and such, but the reporter failed to ask one thing. Why was he driven to the point of domestic violence? What leads me to ask if it was his schedule and such is the fact that on top of it, he dealt with being robbed, not able to pay child support on time and family strains. From what he said, his daughter has been living in Baltimore while he's touring and his son is with an ex-wife. Meanwhile, his wife, the one he aggravated, was also a wrestler. I'm not condoning the violence, but under the pressure of family issues, the travelling and the injuries, one has to wonder if other wrestlers may break similarly because of the stress. Many men quickly come to mind. The Von Erichs, The Benoits, Mike Awesome and more.

Simply put, it's sad to see people who you watch and admire perform for you fall and it only becomes sadder when you realize that your enjoyment plays a part of it.
