And the winner of the Best Act Ever goes to....

Richard

Mid-Card Championship Winner
Rick Astley? :headscratch: it shows that some people just never wanna give him up.

Here is an article on the matter from the UK MTV website, http://www.mtv.co.uk/channel/mtvuk/...-emas-rick-astley-wins-best-act-ever&s_cid=47

The ultimate power of the audience vote was underlined when Rick Astley scooped Best Act Ever.

Rick was not available to attend the Awards.

In his absence the Award was picked up by Katy Perry and Perez Hilton who charmed the audience with a quick dance routine to his famous track Never Going To Give You Up.

In a statement Astley said: "I am honoured that my fans worked so hard to help me win Best Act Ever at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards.

This is the first time I have been nominated for the EMAs and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me."

I want your opinions of Rick Astley and why you think he got this award. If you ask me, it must have been a bunch of people obsessed with Rick Rolling voting for him over the rest of people thinking it would be great.

Also, who do you think should have gotten this award for Best Act Ever? The other nominees were Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Green Day, Tokio Hotel and U2.

So, Rick Astley, Best Act Ever, discuss.

I'm confused as to what the Bet Act Ever award actually is. Is it the best artist ever? It really confuses me. If anyone could tell me, that would be appreciated.

Anyway, whatever it is, the only reason Rick Astley won it is because of the iternet phenomenon that is Rick Rolling. No, really its so great, you link someone to a video with the song "Never Gonna Give You Up." It's so hilarious. No seriously. The internet fans voted, and they love Rick Rolling, so he's going to win it.

I would've liked, out of those acts, U2 to have won it. They have accompished much more than the other artists, they should've won the award.

Was this awarded intended to be a joke? I hope so because the whole Rick Roll phenomenon has had its day. Yeah it was funny the first few times but now the thing is just plain annoying. Mind you, Astley was probably the best choice out of that piss poor list. Green Day? Tokio Hotel? Hardly "Best Act Ever" material.

btw, I watched the EMAs and it was shit.
