I think it's about time we give these guys (and gal) a thread of their own. As I talk to more and more people around here, I come across fans of them from all over. NorCal, Sly, and others, have all mentioned them, so they're obviously catching a wide audience.
I've always been a fan of their lyrics, as well as the music they write. They started out as a very heavy metal band, with driving guitars and growling vocals, and have slowly transformed into a rock/metal band, that blends clean vocals and screaming, with epic guitar solos, great drum fills, and a stage show that many bands today would be hard pressed to match.
They've done all this through a revolving door of band members. The only two that have been with the band since inception are Phil Labonte (vocals) and Oli Herbert (lead guitars). They've had a different bassist on every record, until Jeanne Sagan stayed for the new one, as well as averaging 2 drummers per album. One drummer would stay and record, leave, and someone else would fill in for the tour, and record on the next album. The drummer currently with the band did the last half of their touring for their last album, recorded on the new one, and has started the touring for it. Let's see how long he stays. Mike Martin is the rhythm guitarist, and has been with the band since the second album. He's taken the lead on a few songs lately, but Oli isn't called The Wizard for nothing.
I'm sure many of you know Six from Guitar Hero II, but I'd also recommend From These Wounds, Focus Shall Not Fail, It Dwells In Me, and Forever In Your Hands as a brief history of the band.
