Al Snow as the GM of NXT

As well can tell that WWE NXT is a Tough Enough type brand in where eight rookies try to make it as a breakout star on the brand before being brought up on one of the two major brands which are RAW & Smackdown.

With that being said in which the refrence that I said about Tough Enough is former WWF/E & ECW star Al Snow was the head trainer on the MTV reality show Tough Enough. Al Snow was always the head trainer for all three Tough Enough seasons. And as the WWE pros are playing the "mentor" role on NXT that would make them trainers in a aspect of the original Tough Enough trainers, such as Tazz, Hardcore Holly, Irovy, Bill Demott, and Chavo Guerrero. So why not the WWE re-hire Al Snow and have him as the General Manager of the NXT brand!

We've seen the many sides of Al Snow in & out the ring mainly watching the old Tough Enough series. Al Snow could be hard, strick, demanding. But all around fair as being almost like a father figure to some of kids that made to the WWE like Maven and Nidia. Al Snow even gave could have been former WWE star Chris Nowinski (Harvard) a rub on RAW in late 2002 where "the prince of HARDCORE" Al snow lost a hardcore match to Nowinski clean ending there breif feud. And Snow even help train current (repeat) CURRENT WWE superstar John Morrison on Tough Enough 3. What if there was a storyline develeped between the two?

Pretty much, Al Snow would fit back in the WWE and fit in as the GM of NXT like a custom made glove! Only if Vince McMahon would allow the idea of a GM on NXT? I guess we will have to see. What do you think?

If NXT had to have a GM, Al Snow would definitely be my pick. He was already a trainer on Tough Enough, has a multi-faceted character and personality, and is a veteran. The only problem is the younger fans not knowing who he is, and therefore not buying him as a "pro", but that's nothing a video package of his Tough Enough days couldn't sort out.

I wouldn't mind seeing this at all. I've always kind of liked Al Snow, and the fact that he's been brought back at events like the RAW 15th Anniversary shows that he seems to have a decent enough relationship with WWE.

I think it would be a decent move, but I highly, highly doubt it will happen. Al Snow served his purpose back in the attitude era. He was a decent wrestler and had a quirky character. But his time has passed with WWE fans.

I don't mind bringing in guys that younger fans might not know. Bret Hart was fine because he is a HUGE name. Al Snow had a decent run, but he was never a huge name. While I wouldn't mind seeing it, I just don't think there is a strong enough demand for the man with the maniquan head.

NXT doesn't need a General Manager. I'll get to why that is in a minute, but first let me say that I love the idea of Al Snow being apart of the program. As GM, no.... but he would definitely be more suited in the role that Matt Striker currently has. Striker being the one to tell wrestlers to "respect the veterans" and shit like that is just ridiculous and makes him out to be the biggest hypocrite in the World. Now, if those words came from Al Snow, we would be able to buy the sincerity of it and appreciate his message, since it's coming from someone who truly paid his dues in the business and busted his ass to accomplish what he's accomplished in his great career.

Now, as far as to why I don't think NXT doesn't need a GM... I just believe that the veterans running the show makes more sense, and also adds a ton of excitement and unpredictably to the program. I don't want some lame ass coming along and setting up matches; no, let the vets decide between themselves what's best for their rookies. To me, not only does that make the most sense, but it keeps the show unique and fresh compared to every other show out there, pro wrestling wise.

I agree with jmt225. I don't think that a GM is necessary for NXT. I don't see what kind a role he will play with the Pros. The Pros should be acting like managers and make matches for their rookies. I wouldn't mind seeing Snow on the show either replacing Striker or Josh but there is simply no point in having a GM.

What does everybody want???????

I would love to see Al Snow back on WWE tv in a training type of capacity. I don't think NXT needs a gm though. I REALLY would like Snow to be a backstage kind of Road Agent, much like Bill DeMott/Arn Anderson/Dean Malenko/etc. He would be excellent in that capacity for sure.

I really dont think that a GM is needed in NXT. Matt did a great job as a host last week in NXT, and i really think they should just keep him as a host. Matt know how to use the mic and he gets good interviews from any of the rookies, so lets just keep him and maybe in the 2nd season add a GM, but as right know Matt did a great job in his first week in NXT as a host.

IMO, a GM isn't needed for NXT because it would take away some time from the pros & rookies as NXT needs to be its own show and not be like RAW & Smackdown

I do not agree with a general manager on NXT. The current concept of diet chaos makes for good entertainment and it almost seems unscripted. Everyone seems more relaxed and it's truly focused on the superstars at hand and nothing else.

NXT seems to be carving its own identity and flavor lets not start trying to fix what is not broken.

I also have no desire to see Al Snow. Ricky Steamboat. Or any other old school wrestler as a GM on NXT.

So why not the WWE re-hire Al Snow and have him as the General Manager of the NXT brand!

There's one little problem with that. NXT isn't a brand. The pros are all from Raw or Smackdown, and the rookies are called up from developmental. I do think he could be brought back as a trainer in a role similar to the one he had on Tough Enough, but.... NXT should not have a GM. That would make as little sense as it having a championship. It's a developmental show and should be centered around the rookies improving to impress the pros. Striker is the host of the show, that's the closest thing it needs to a GM and that should not be changed because it isn't a brand and should not be.

Let's get some things straight here. As far as having both a GM & a host of a brand goes. Remember that one year on the Smackdown side where they had Teddy Long as the GM and the Miz as the then "Host of Friday night Smackdown!". Or hell if anything Al Snow could be a comissioner like he was suppose to be back in early 2001, but he lost that role to William Regal via wrestling match.

All I'm saying is use your three eye in seeing how the WWE works as far as entertainment value. The WWE just cancelled a bunch of Legends contracts. So why not bring back the "sensai" of Tough Enough himself, the snowman, Al Snow!
