# 2 Manami Toyota vs # 15 Rain "Peyton Banks"
th_rain2.jpg

This match will take place in Tokyo, Japan

1.) Not a popularity contest, tournament based on in ring skills

2.) Will rules of a region come into play (All matches in this region will be subject to Joshi rules and regulations, not WWE's or TNA's, please keep that in mind)

3.) Will the crowd be a factor

One of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time vs. another up and comer. I don't know much about Rain, but I don't think she could begin to take Manami in her home promotion. I won't bother with Manami's full pedigree, but it's safe to say that she should go far in this tournament.

I really can't believe how close the voting is on this match. I have to assume this is part of the Japanese wrestling backlash that seems to be occurring. I know I have some bias on this one, but c'mon.

Toyota is a multiple time WWWA champion, a multiple time WWWA tag champion, as well as holding around half a dozen mid-card belts throughout Japan. She's in the Observer hall of fame, she has been voted performer of the year and had a couple of matches of the year through the same publication. Twenty years of awesome were provided by this lady.

The last time I saw Payton Banks she was being pinned by Sharmell.

Sharmell!

Perhaps Banks has a lot to offer the world of pro wrestling, but as of now she isn't even in the same league as Toyota. I think Toyota has the clear size, technique, and experience advantage as well as possessing one of the stiffest damn drop kicks you will ever see. She has had absolute wars with some of the toughest women in this competition and performed beautifully. She can mat wrestle, she is a great high flier, she has championship level charisma. How the hell do you justify a vote against her? I don't think anyone can and I doubt anyone will try, but it would be interesting to read all the same.
