AJ reportedly dealing with injury.

ShinChan

Gone. For. Good.
WWE star AJ Styles did not wrestle at the WWE Smackdown tapings this week, and according to PWInsider.com, it's because Styles is currently dealing with nagging injuries.

Styles was given the Smackdown night off this week because WWE officials want him healthy and rested for his match against Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules on May 22nd. There is no word at this time regarding Styles' in-ring status between now and the PPV.

As a result, WWE has pulled Styles from all live events this weekend. Styles was scheduled for Friday's show in Greenville, SC; Saturday's show in Raleigh, NC and Sunday's show in Columbia, SC.

I am hoping that It is just a minor issue and not much. Injuries have been cursing WWE badly during the last 6 months. These injuries badly affected the Wrestlemania 32 plans too.

Thoughts?

ANYTHING but this. AJ Styles HAS to be around. I don't mind if he misses a couple of live events and shows between now and Extreme Rules. But I'm very invested in the Reigns-Styles feud for the WWE WHC, also involving the Club. Something has to happen at ER. I doubt that Styles wins the title, but I'm hoping Gallows and Anderson will turn on him and thus join forces with Reigns.

Well, fortunately for the WWE, Seth Rollins, John Cena, Randy Orton AND Bray Wyatt are all going to be returning as active competitors by June. So in a worst case scenario, if Styles is out for some duration, they still have a lot of performers returning. I can't wait for Seth Rollins. I can already foresee him and Reigns tearing the house down at Summerslam. It'll be like The Undertaker(Reigns) vs Bret Hart from SS 97, only Seth freakin' Rollins is so much like Shawn Michaels.

Also can't wait for Rollins vs Cesaro and Rollins vs Styles.

Glad to see that they are giving him time off to maybe take care of some injury, but this is a new WWE we have here and I'm stunned by the news. Didn't Punk say on the Cabana podcast that the WWE didn't like to give their talent time off for anything. There was also reports a couple of months ago that Vince was pissed with KO because he went home from RAW with the flu.

That being said though, they should do it. If someone has something to deal with and taking a week or two off, would negate them having to take a month or two off later on, then why not.

Kind of interesting that they are giving it too him because of who he's facing at ER. If Styles isn't able to perform, perfect opportunity to call Balor up, actually expecting that to happen anyway.

Would go nuts if they announced that Styles was unable to perform, but hold on he has picked his replacement and out comes the Demon Balor. The roof would blow off the place. Wouldn't expect Balor to win, but it would be one hell of a debut, and he can carry the match like Styles would have.

Truth be told, I've been waiting for this report as it just seems like something that's coming. AJ Styles is 38 years old and he's been doing a very physical profession for about 18 years, so I'm not at all surprised that he has some sort of nagging injuries going on that's bothering him a bit.

The injuries don't seem to be something that's serious, at least right now going by what the reports are saying, but their severity will probably only grow as time goes by and, possibly a few years down the line, he'll HAVE to get them taken care of.

Giving Styles a little time off to rest up can only help things, they've employed the same strategies with guys like Orton and Cena quite a bit in the past, and it really might be all Styles needs. Besides, it's not like he HAS to wrestle on TV every single week or miss a house show or two here and there.

so InjuryMania II is already being planned for next year... with them future endevouring all their healthy talent we will end up seeing HHH vs. Shane as the wrestlemania 33 mania event....

AJ has had some injury problems over the past 12-18 months, I hope the short break calms the nagging injuries as Styles has hit the ground running.

If anything, the injury crisis WWE has had should at least have them look at lightening up the workload on their talent.

I'm not surprised AJ is dealing with some nagging injuries, I'm sure the increased workload is probably taking a bit of a toll.Hopefully he's not next on the list to hit catch the injury bug, other than a few minor things AJ has remained fairly injury free during his career.

Everyime he wrestles on TV nowadays he seems in pain and holding his back. It's pretty noticeable. Even in Japan he would wrestle though pain, it must have been like torture. And that's a big part why he wanted to come back in the US cause Japan's style of working is pretty demanding.

There's no way that AJ can keep working a full WWE schedule unless he gets back surgery or something.
