Afro Samurai
As a young boy Afro Samurai witnessed the brutal murder of his father, who was considered the greatest warrior in the world. As the greatest warrior, titled Number 1, Afro Samurai had to defend that honor against all comers. The Number 2 warrior at the time, Justice, defeated him and left the young Afro Samurai with the choice words to become strong enough to kill him someday.
As a result Afro Samurai ended up wandering the countryside with the Number 2 headband as his sole motivation. Without guidance he was quickly defeated by robbers who stole his headband; on deaths door he was taken in by a sword master who taught him everything he knew. In order to regain his rank he was forced to kill his sensei, who had since become the Number 2.
As the series continued the subsequent deaths of the rest of his friend and allies, save for one, caused Afro Samurai to become cold and ruthless. He showed his enemies no mercy, and killed swiftly and without conscious; all for the sole purpose of revenge for the death and dishonor of his father.
Powers
Enhanced Strength: Afro Samurai has the power to cleave enemies in two with his sword; he has also been seen punching foes through concrete and solid rock with his fists.
Enhanced Speed: Afro Samurai has the ability to not only dodge gunfire, but can carve the bullets in two.
Abilities
Master Swordsman: Afro Samurai welds his sword with the greatest of ease, capable of attacking with fast melee attacks on the ground, or in the air.
Assets
Sword: Afro Samurai welds the same sword used by his late father, who was killed before his very eyes when he was a child.
