A-Rod is Hurt

Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
Alex Rodriguez is injured. He has a torn labrum and a cyst on his hip. His doctors have apparently said the best choice is surgery but the Yankees think rehab would work better. The main issue is that the recovery time is a minimum of 10 weeks, which would be about a month and a half into the season. As an aside, these kinds of cysts are the same kind that both Clemmens and I believe Bonds had. Coincidence?

But I digress. What does this mean for the Yankees and A-Rod?

To me, it's actually a blessing in disguise for New York. You look at their offseason and there's been a series of major stories but by far and away the leader has been A-Rod's steroid confessions. People are forgetting them bringing in AJ Burnett, CC Sabathia and Mark Teixeira. By having A-Rod out of sight for two and a half months at least it's going to let the Yankees get a good start to the season without any kind of distraction. If they can come in and have a solid start to the season and then add in a healthy A-Rod, the Yankees could be deadly to say the least.
