A little discouraged with wrestling

S.O.S. (Used to be z99zazn)
Okay let me make this clear, this is NOT one of the complaint threads that people constantly make on here. Those are straight up annoying and bitchy. I just have a question for all of the die hard wrestling fans out there.

I got back into wrestling at the very beginning of January. After about a month of watching, researching, and reading up on everything wrestling that had happened since I had been gone, I was very caught up, and was so into the whole thing again. Nothing changed forever. No matter what happened, I made sure I saw Raw every Monday, ordered nearly every PPV, and watched Smackdown and ECW when time permitted. About a month ago, when Raw came to St. Louis (The episode when Randy Orton and Cena teamed up to face Big Show and Jericho in case you didn't know), it was amazing and I was so happy with the experience. But starting with the Floyd Mayweather episode, it just kind of started getting old to me. The last time I can honestly say I watched with interest was Summerslam. Ever since then, I just have had no passion at all for it and can't seem to fit time in to watch it.

There is a lot of stuff in my life that makes it hard for me to find time to watch it, or post shit on the forums, or to even read the news on the main site. This year is my senior year in high school and I'm busy with a lot of shit for school. I also smoke a little bit more green, and when I'm under the influence, wrestling usually isn't on my mind too heavily. Plus, football is back, hockey is starting soon, and baseball is in the race to October, so I have to watch the other sports too. And I'm more into MMA then I've ever been.

The only reason I'm saying all of this shit to you guys on the forums is because I'm wondering, does anyone else ever feel this way too? I won't say I'm one of the most knowledgeable fan on these forums, and that is obvious, but I'd like to think I know a little bit about wrestling. And I considered myself a HUGE fan for basically the entire year of 2009. But I just feel like I lost my passion as a viewer right now, and I hope I get it back soon.

I should be happy! CM is the champion and I love him so much. Kofi has the US Title and he is the man. Hardy is gone and probably won't be back and that is a bit of a relief to me. Taker is back. Christian has the ECW strap. Wrestling should be more apealing than ever to me right now, but for some reason its not... So does anyone else ever feel this way?

I've got to tell you that everybody feels that way at one point or another. Real hardcore, die hard wrestling fanatics watch hoping the business will get better over time. To see how it changes with time. But most like me are very critical with what they've planned because certain things I truly enjoy, and other things I continually despise & it makes me want to change the channel. & I've been watching since what most would consider the hey day back in the 80's. I can remember the wrestling cartoon with Andre the Gaint, and Hulk Hogan on Saturday mornings. And, by the way that makes me feel old telling you that.

But, right now wrestling is struggling to find new stars. Even in the alternative we're being given with TNA, it is still looking for new stars. WWE needs them bad, and needs to learn how to create some new stars. Of course WWE also needs their vets now more than ever. There are still some beloved vets who still have a lot of go left in them, and the younger talent being around them can only help them put the business back in a better direction. Speaking of one thing that I absolutely hate is that the "wrestling" flagship show "Raw" is the running joke of the wrestling world, and it keeps getting worse. This use to be the show that would draw an 8.0, because it captured people's imagination, and it featured some good wrestling on it as well. But after the Attitude Era was over Vince has been seeking that boom period ever since. & I'm sorry to say but it's not going to come with Triple H, or Cena as the champion. Smackdown! is in a good position. ECW is a tribute belt, and that's just a plain mockery to what ECW is about. Raw isn't going to continue to be the flagship show if Vince keeps turning the show into an hour & half spectacle with 2 wrestling matches. Honestly if I wanted to watch the dying days of WCW I could find plenty of matches on YouTube. Raw is being killed off on every show. along with Michael Cole's commentary. Would it be such a bad thing if we got a serious Jerry Lawler for once? Comedy is killing Raw. I'm not at all saying some comedy isn't needed. But a mix of serious drama, along with one comedy bit is ok. Constant useless segments, and even more crap ideas are going to send Raw to an early grave. Raw does a 3.4 rating as an average now. All of the die hard fans of the Attitude Era, and even before stopped watching because they saw the death of Raw coming before those fans who still watch. So yeah, I feel that way. I don't watch Raw half the time. I don't tune into ECW. I only watch Smackdown! because at least they have wrestling. The times I cannot watch it I tape it, or find it on the net after I get home.
