A bad Benoit match?

Carpathian Florist

I was reading through some of KB's rather entertaining reviews when I came across this line:

Seriously, name a bad Benoit match. Not so easy is it?

Personally I can't think of one, although having said that I never followed his career that closely. So I was wondering if anyone could name a Benoit match that they thought was truly bad? Can anyone name a Benoit match that is bad by normal standards and not just bad by Benoit standards?
Must admit I would be interested in tracking these down and watching them just out of curiosity's sake if anyone names something.

If anyone does reply could you please type your reasons as to why you think it is so bad or underwhelming rather than just listing matches.

One match that comes to mind is his match against Billy Gunn at Armageddon 2000. This was during Gunn's 37th push in the company and now he was The One Billy Gunn. I should have known better but I thought Billy might actually break out this time. It's hard to say why the match was bad. The two just didn't seem to gel together and I thought parts of it were sloppy. Rare for a Benoit match, not so rare for a Gunn match. Honestly I don't remember the match that well. I haven't seen it in ten years. I do however remember at the time thinking not even Chris Benoit can pull a good match out of Billy Gunn.

The one that comes to mind, would be his last match in WCW against Sid. Were he on the WCW title, then dropped in the trash and demanded his release the next day. I don't know if it was a combination of him being feed up. Or if it was more of Sid's fault, at that point he was older and a lot slower in the ring. Even Benoit couldn't carry him to a great match.

His 40 second match with sabu lol. One move in the match and that's what happened. But really i can't think of a benoit match that i thought was poor.

I can name one easily. Royal Rumble 2003 against Kurt Angle. I never thought this was a controversial thought until after I saw it, and I saw it AFTER the Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle Wrestlemania X7 match. The X7 match was perfectly executed, with a neat mix of WWF-style wrestling and amateur freestyle type stuff.

To me, the Royal Rumble 2003 match was a stiff, lifeless affair full of punches and kicks and stomps and the occasional suplex or something by Angle, and the obligatory 9000 German Suplexes by Benoit.

Also I didn't like the main event of Wrestlemania XX, but I can't lay any fault on him.
