Never even heard of The Flaming Lips. STP was one of my favorite bands growing up as a youngster before I got into the real heavy stuff. After doing some brief research on The Flaming Lips, I can see that both of these bands, from what I can tell, are quite evenly matched in popularity and influence. But like I said, I really don't know who the Flaming Lips are, and even though I did sample 1 or 2 of their songs, I can still say that I like STP better. STP has my vote
