Foo Fighters should slaughter these guys. They have some of the most consistent music over this time period -- from the mid-90's 'till now.

I personally cannot stand the Foo Fighters. Atleast the new one. I love the old Foo Fighters from "The Colour & the Shape", that was a fantastic album, and the song "Everlong" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

But every time I try to listen to their new stuff which is all over the radio 24/7, I can't get into it. It's just not very good. It sounds like most everything else on modern rock radio, and isn't very good at that either. I'm sure I'll catch some slack for it, but their modern work is some of the most overrated music I've ever encountered in all of my life. I guess it's good if you're used to hearing Nickelback all the time, but compared to the old Foo Fighters, they're merely a shell of their former self.

Presidents of the USA were great too. Peaches, Lump, Cleveland Rocks, all great songs. Just fun and mindless humour alt-rock of the 90s. Very catchy, but also very transparent.

So Foo takes this one, pretty much based off of The Colour & the Shape for me.

The Foo Fighters were one of my favorite bands back in the day, The Color and the Shape, There's Nothing Left to Lose and even One by One were all quality albums, but In Your Honor for me was one of the worst albums I've ever heard and really put me off the Foo's. I feel like their latest Album was a step in the right direction but still no-where near the quality of their earlier stuff. That said I have a natural love for Dave Grohl so I think for me the Foo's are going to beat alot of people here.

POTUSA is such a funny story. They were such the "in" thing when bands like Weezer were coming up and making waves - the short lived era of High School Nerd Rock (anyone remember Nada Surf?) in the 90's. Then, with all of their momentum, they do the MTV Superbowl Halftime live performance, and the singer screws up the verse to one of his major hits. ALL of a sudden, they disappear. POTUSA got buring next to Jimmy Hoffa, leaving a fantastic breakout album in their wake.

X, you credit POTUSA for fun, mindless, transparent rock - isn't that the same thing you're railing against Eve 6 for doing?

Personally, I hate the fucking Foo Fighters. I've never understood the appeal of them. I can't think of one song that I honestly said I have enjoyed. That being said, I'm a cliche and enjoyed the President of the United States, Peaches and Lump are great, catchy songs. So in my opinion, two songs outweigh zero songs in my book, so I'm breaking the shutout and turning it into a blowout.

Granted, but the thing that differentiates the two is that POTUSA's fun and mindless rock actually had catchy and original ideas to them, whereas Eve 6 was simply a carbon copy of 100 other Southern California alt-rock bands. I may sound hypocritical, but I enjoyed those three catchy songs I named before, even if they were mindless rock.

POTUSA were definately more original then Eve 6 though.
