This shouldn't even be close- korn my not be what they once were, but their first 4 albums were phenomenal and they nearly single handedly spawn the genre known as nu-metal. Korn was the first band to have that loose bass / distorted sound that many bands have copied since the Korn arrived on the metal scene. They are a great band who have influenced many of the rock bands we see today.

Korn started off the new metal trend (not exactly nu metal, aka Limp Bizkit), but they started off the new metal type of sound in North America. Listen to Life is Peachy or the first album, absolutely brilliant and Johnathen Davis voice shows so much emotion.
