Devo. Devo. DEVO!

Devo are the greatest nerd band of all time. That's right Weezer fans, they don't even hold a candle to the geeky awesomeness that is Devo. Everyone probably only knows them for their famous song "Whip It", but if you hear that and expect to hear more of the same from Devo, you're in for a surprise. Devo was a punk band. Well, almost. More New Wave technically, but some of their early songs were as challenging and ear-shattering as any Clash or Damned song from the same era (songs like "Be Stiff" and "Gut Feeling"). Their first album Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! is a classic of alternative rock in any form or genre, and their third album Freedom of Choice is right up there as well.

Cutting Crew are best known as that crappy group that sang the song "I....I just died in your arms tonight". Yes, that awful awful soft-rock ballad piece of garbage.

Is this even a contest? VOTE DEVO OR DIE!

Great Devo songs to check out: Be Stiff, Gut Feeling, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Girl U Want, Space Junk, Mongoloid, Jocko Homo, Uncontrollable Urge, Gates of Steel, Come Back Jonee.

CHECK OUT DEVO PLEASE! Any fans of New Wave, punk, synth-pop, or post-punk will love them.

Easily Devo. Working in a Coal Mine is such a great song combine in the Nerd aspect with those upside down flowerpots on their heads and the great songs in general Devo beats generic 80's soft rock ballads.
