Survivor and their catchy Rocky and Baywatch music go down to the juggernaut that is REM.
there's no denying that the likes of 'Everybody Hurts', 'Great Beyond', 'End of the World', 'The Sidewinder sleeps' and 'man on the moon' are better than 'Eye of the Tiger'...eh, hmmm....ok, I don't know anything else by then which is a sign of how much REM deserve to go over

R.E.M. in a walk here. I like Survivor, and I LOVE the fact that they got out of the prelim round, but there is a damn good reason I seeded R.E.M. in the 8 spot. They are a legendary band, and they even have an award named after them with MTV. Out of Time and Monster were difinitive 90's albums, the tunes were catchy, and the lyrics had meaning.

Survivor had a great song on a great soundtrack to a great film, but the truth is, "Eye of the Tiger" wasn't even the best song on the soundtrack. Robert Tepper's "No Easy Way Out" was, and it was recently covered by Bullet for my Valentine. Seriously, one of the greatest remakes of any song EVER.

R.E.M. is miles ahead of Survivor. I'll go as far as saying that "Shiny Happy People" is better than every song Survivor has put out, and that's regarded as one of R.E.M.'s worst songs. I kind of dig it though, it makes me happy. lol

I have to agree with the majority here. R.E.M. is a truly outstanding band. I must say it is pretty bad when I've heard other songs bu Survivor either than Eye of the Tiger but none of them stick out. Hell I couldnt even tell you there names. R.E.M. all the way here.
