Im going with The Byrds here. They have produced some of the most beautiful pieces of music. With the likes of "Turn, Turn, Turn"Which is based off of a Psalm in the bible I think. But they put in the music that makes it one of the most poignant and beautiful songs of the 60's.

Then there is a song that sort of defines a "typical" 60's song. In "Mr. Tambourine Man" This song is great it has some bizarre words in there but it is a great chord progression and the Riff is cool.

This is taking nothing away from Joe Cocker as I know a large proportion of the vote will go to Joe with Classics Like "Leave Your Hat On" , "With a Little Help From My Friends", "You Are So Beautiful" and "Summer In The City".
