3 man commentary teams

Tastycles

Turn Bayley heel
So, I was watching last week's TNA, and I saw that they had decided to sack Don West about 1 month after he had got good after 7 years of dismal performances. Anyway, what I didn't understand is why they didn't go for a three man commentary team, with Tazz as an analyst, and West as a heel colour commentator, sprouting bullshit like he normally does.

After Tazz left WWE, PPVs were called by a three man team of JR, Lawler and Cole, and I felt they did a very good job, with JR able to help Cole when he had problems.

The three man team seems to work well, but it just isn't utilised in modern wrestling very much, why do you think this is? Is it because Tastycles is wrong, or is it some other reason?

I'm a fan of the 3 man commentary team as well Tasty. WCW used it to good results, and I even enjoyed it when Raw used to have the team of Cole, Kevin Kelly, & JR in 97-98. Nothing beat Schiavone, Tenay, and Heenan though. That was a damn good team of commentators right there.

I don't know why TNA didn't go the 3-man route either now that I think about it. Perhaps they just really wanted to get West off of TV, and finally found someone they had enough confidence in to replace West?
