243,000 Jobs Added In January, Unemployment Rate To 8.3%

The consistent drop in the rate is good news for America and probably the rest of the world. We have a long way to go and a lot more to fix but at least this metric is moving in the right direction.

Romney and Poot are too worried about men sticking their dicks in other men and women killing their babies for any of this too matter.

The Republicans are toast because they won't stop harping on those social issues.

On a related note, why do we never hear that Romney was governor of Massachusetts? I know it's a known fact, but it's NEVER brought up. All you hear about is his time as a big business guy. He has real experience running a government so why not bring it up?

Romney doesn't want to run for the Repub nom on his time in Mass. His team believes his strength with the right wing is in his business experience. Memories of his time as governor is a direct link to his love of socialized health care and taxes.

Also, Newt would school him in a conversation regarding politics and policy.

It's funny when people post media hack jobs like this on the unemployment rate..

First off, federal jobs have gone up since Obama took office, while state/local jobs have gone down. So Obama has ZERO claim to "cutting government jobs" and very little claim to increasing private sector jobs as with so much of the work force dwindled after the economic collapse, these aren't exactly what would be considered 'true growth.'

On top of that the fact is still ignored the people who no longer qualify for unemployment who end up dropping off the radar completely, which sustantially helps the umployment rate. There's a damn good reason why the unemployment rate only is only accounting for the number of people "looking" for work who cannot find employment.

So don't be too happy about the rate being "8.3%" - It's not the true rate by any means and the rate that makes politicians look good. When you fall off the radar, you fall off the rate. It's really that simple.
