A brief explanation for some of my nominees:

For the Young Bucks as worst wrestlers, I genuinely think they're nothing but overly hyped, overrated spot monkeys who can't wrestle an honest match to save their lives. They can't tell a story, they hardly sell the effects of the moves during a match because they're too busy transitioning from one spot to another and are more concerned with getting cheap pops out of the crowd than anything else. If a high spot or a flip's not involved, they can't do it.

As for Lesnar's nomination for title reign of the year, it's not been a favorite of mine but it gets a lot of attention, it's long and its resulted in some genuinely highly entertaining bouts.

While I'm not sold on the "Woken" stuff from Matt Hardy, it's still a welcome change and preferred alternative to him simply waiting around like a knot on a log until Jeff Hardy comes back.

For my mention of Vince being part of the top news story category, he's said to be starting the XFL again, for some dumbass reason, so it's worth noting that he using $100 million of his own money to do it.

I think too often title reigns are thought of as good just because they're long. Jinder Mahal's reign obviously goes some way to dispelling that notion. I've nothing against Lesnar's reign in particular other than many of his matches have been lots of great build-up with very little pay-off. But enough about my sex life.

I should've mentioned it before, it did slip my mind but your post reminded me, that one reason I brought up the length of Lesnar's title run is due to the rarity of long runs in WWE. Compared to his WWE Championship run, Lesnar's run as Universal Champion has been light years ahead and I have to disagree with the assessment of his matches. The hoss fight at SummerSlam was great as was his bout with Samoa Joe, the bout with Braun Strowman was a bit of a disappointment yet it was still far above the usual crapfests what were most of Lesnar's matches prior to this past summer. While the title wasn't on the line with his match against Styles, Lesnar still being champion was a selling point to the match, though not as much as Styles replacing Jinder Mahal.

I was against Lesnar getting another title run and still am in some respects as I'm just not at all thrilled with a champ who wrestles a total of 5 times per year. At the same time though, it's kinda hard to put Lesnar down for defending the title only a handful of times a year when Okada, and just about every other champ from New Japan at that, does the same thing. Yes, I know he wrestles more than just the 8 times he's defended the title since starting his 4th run with it but what you still have is, like Lesnar, a guy who only defends is title a handful of times a year. As with Okada, Lesnar's title defenses this time around, and his non-title matches as champ, have generated a ton of buzz and more often than not, resulted in some legit MOTY contenders. Lesnar's matches draw, they keep interest and, since after WrestleMania this year, have been worth watching for a change. Jinder's time as WWE Champion has flat out sucked and blown at the same time while Lesnar's time as Universal Champion, while flawed in some fundamental ways, hasn't when you look at the build and the overall quality of matches he's had.

I'll second The Fashion Police in any category in which they are mentioned. Good comedy in wrestling is, well, not actually that much of a rarity, but appreciated nonetheless.

Edit: Oh, and Naomi for most improved. Looove me some Naomi.

The hoss fight at SummerSlam was great as was his bout with Samoa Joe, the bout with Braun Strowman was a bit of a disappointment yet it was still far above the usual crapfests what were most of Lesnar's matches prior to this past summer.

We can discuss this more in, you know, the actual thread - but the Samoa Joe program was emblematic of my problems with Lesnar's reign. Joe grabbed the opportunity with both hands, delivered a string of great promos, developed a surprising chemistry with Lesnar and-- oh, Joe beat him up for five minutes and then got F5'd. That didn't surprise me but I was outright shocked when Strowman got the same treatment. Of course, anything interesting that emerges organically and naturally must be sacrificed at the altar of Roman Reigns and his annual coronation as king of WWE, and that's a larger problem than Lesnar's title reign.
