Casino Royale blows SM2 out of the water.

I'll reiterate what sucks about SM2: Too much focus on Mary Jane, not enough focus on Doc Ock, tacky "Peter is back to normal and a dork because he just doesn't have the confidence anymore" scenes, he reveals his identity to too many people, the slow motion "Mary Jane running with her wedding dress on" scene was ridiculous....

Whereas Casino Royale brought Bond back down to his gritty roots. It gave us a darker, edgier, more realistic Bond with a story that not only makes sense but downplays any sort of fantasy element. Things that suck about Casino Royale: no dark hair for Bond, no Q, no Moneypenny, no "shaken, not stirred" line. That's it. The action is great and raw, it never gets boring (unlike Spider-Man 2's scenes with Peter and Mary Jane trying too hard to seem upset with each other), and it has become one of the very best Bond films out of a series that is currently heading towards its 22nd entry.

Casino Royale.

Spiderman 2 was horrible. My least favorite of the Spiderman movies. And that is saying a lot, because they were horrible movies. That being said, the Bond series is a great series, and Casino Royale matches up against its predecessors. Craig Daniel does not blow his shot as Bond, he creates himself a new Bond persona. He is tough, coy, and intelligent. Casino is smarter than SM2, and has better action. Casino Royale wins it here.

Whoa whoa whoa, back the Martini train up. This shouldnt happen. Spiderman 2 is better film than Casino Royale, In fact its better than ALL BOND MOVIES. The story is better, the filming is incredible, the only thing that Casino Royale may have over SM2 is Acting. But not by much. God why people blow their load over these hardcore franchise films like James Bond is beyond me. Over half of them have been shit. CR may be ok, but it does not match up to Spiderman 2.

Obviously Spiderman 2 gets my vote.

Certainly more then half of the Bond Movies have been shit, but the Craptacular Spiderman Trilogy is incredibly boring and hard to sit threw. The only movie that was worth it's grain of salt was the first movie, with the Green Goblin. Spiderman 2 is perhaps the most over rated film in the history of cinema.

Doc Ock is the worst superhero villain ever, ever. Bar none, this character was abysmal. He was a bore, about as non threatening as it god. Raimi, the hack, spent way too much time trying to force humanity on his characters that in the long run, you don't care about them. Mary Jane becomes an obnoxious, over bearing bitch, Peter Parker becomes nothing more then a sniveling, snot nosed brat that you can care a less about his problems. This is such a terrible film from all points of view except one, JK Simmons. He is phenomenal as JJJ, but other then that, this film, like the series, is forgettable.

Casino Royale was a great film. It did something that Goldeneye almost achieved, but failed to build on, bringing credibility back to these films. There were a string, of simply terrible Bond movies. In fact, Bond had lost most of his credibility as a great film series for almost 30 years. Goldeneye brought people back, but failed to deliver the knock out. So the reboot with CR happens, and it's phenomenal. You care about Bond again. You take away the crap toys and put him in a gritty, nasty world, and you make him a brooding bad ass. It was a 180 from the suave, Bond. It was a great move, and a great movie, and easily better then SM2.

I don't know how you can say the Goblin was ok yet Doc Ock was a terrible villain. Yeah it's got a predictable ending and everyone is over sentimental. But it's an action film, and it offers up plenty. More than The Dark Kinight and X-Men 2. It's not better than them, but it's close. It's also character based, which is something that The Dark Knight borrowed from.

Doc Ock is the Green Goblin plus a little more. He's a scientist gone mad, but with tentacles. And it's one of life's rules that states that tentacles are better than hoverboards.
