10 Wrestlers that define WWE

Pre-Show Stalwart
In order...

1 - Hulk Hogan - Biggest name ever in professional wrestling. Not just WWE. Hulkamania will probably never be rivalled.

2 - Stone Cold - The McMahon storyline possibly the biggest and most succesful. Austin was untouchable in 1998-1999. Nearly as big as Hulkamania.

3 - The Rock - Had the fans eating out of his hand better than no other. Primarily a face, thought he played heel much better than the previous 2. Probably the biggest name to come out of pro-wrestling.

4 - HBK - Mr Wrestlemania. Been in some of the most memorable matches in WWE & Wrestlemania history. Such a storied career spanning over 20 years.

5 - Undertaker - Still going strong now unlike the other 4. His undefated streak is his legacy and his gimmick probably the best ever.

6 - Bret Hart - Probably the best "wrestler" in the list. Like HBK had some great Wrestlemania matches but also some great matches at smaller events. Could put on a good match with a bag of spanners.

7 - Ric Flair - Didnt look the best, wasnt the best in the ring, but cut a great promo and just had it. When he was in his pomp in the 80s and early 90s, that just shows how he handled his limitations. WCW Legend aswell.

8 - Triple H - Love him or loathe him, he's been going strong neigh on 10 years as a main eventer with more to come. Probably the most succesful (overall) in terms of Championships. Yes he has a say in alot of this but he's a great all round worker.

9 - Mick Foley - Put his body on the line in numerous occasions. Pulled off 3 gimmicks pretty succesfully. He could pull off any wrestling match - hardcore, 1 on 1, Cage, HIAC.

10 - Kurt Angle - had a relatively short tenure but was up there with Bret Hrat in terms of wrestling ability. Had a great gimmick and rose from mid card to main eventer within 12 months of his debut. A fast learner who was also great on the mic.

Just missing out - John Cena.

Take off Angle, Flair, and Hart. If I'm being honest with myself, you can probably lose Foley and Michaels with ease as well.

Add Cena, Backlund, Savage, and Warrior.

I hate Triple H (you could replace him with anyone for ten years with the booking he's had for over that time and they'd probably draw more than him), but he reaistically belongs somewhere on this list.

So you are serously telling me that Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart dont define WWE? Seriously, you must of been living in a bubble or just started watching WWE.

These 2 were in the most famous match EVER in WWE History.

First 6 are fine although for different reasons than you have listed. When you say define the company, I would assume you mean are people that exemplify what the company is all about. Taker for example is the epitome of the over the top character and is easily the most successful of them. Flair flat out does not belong on this list. He's WCW/NWA if tehre ever has been someone that is.

Angle I'd drop also. He's a great worker, but he really doesn't mean a lot in WWE history. He was really more of a placeholder.

Foley/HHH.......I could see it but I'm not sure. HHH would belong more than Foley as he's just been around forever and to say he wasn't a huge part of the company in 99-2000 and 2002-2004 is just incorrect.

Foley.....as much as I love him I think he needs to be off. While more important than Angle, there are people that belong on there more than he does.

Added on we need (in no order):

Cena - This guy, love him or hate him, is the man that WWE has revolved around for nearly 6 years now.

Roddy Piper - Without this guy, there is no Wrestlemania. He defined the WWF's heel and people since him have tried to emulate him as the cocky heel.

Savage - This guy paved the way for guys like Bret and Shawn. He was relatively average in size and strength but his presence and abilities made up for it.

Therefore the ten should be (no order)

Hogan
Austin
Rock
HBK
Taker
Hart
HHH
Cena
Piper
Savage

Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart were in the Hell in a Cell match at King of the Ring '98?

Wow. I clearly need to brush up on my rasslin' trivia.

Also, not to be picky, but if I'd just started watching wrestling, wouldn't I be more inclined to say Shawn and Bret were top ten guys? I mean it's not like every week leading up to Mania this year was spent reminding us how significant these men and their careers where or anything.
