    Classy Freddie Blassie

Winner of 40 titles throughout his career he may be most known for his role a manager. During his managerial career he was in the corner of such greats as Hulk Hogan, The Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff and his opponent King Kong Bundy.

    King Kong Bundy

Winner of 11 titles in his career, he is remembered for his 1986 feud with Hulk Hogan. During this feud Hogan sustained popped ribs from Bundy due to Bundy legitimately punching him in the chest so it wouldn't look fake. The feud ended at WrestleMania 2 which saw Hogan retain his WWE title in a Steel Cage match.

I'll take Blassie almost by default here on one simple concept: Bundy never did anything. He was in more or less a glorified squash at the worst Wrestlemania of all time. Name something else that he did. Since you're sitting there thinking, I'll solve your problem. There is nothing else. Bundy is as overrated as it gets. Blassie was just hated in his time. He appeared on the Dick Van Dyke show and was almost booed off the stage. His managing was great as he was the fashion plate and called people pencil necked geeks. Simply classic. Simply Classy.

Yep. Bundy did nothing in his carrear.

Well... as close to nothing as somebody who has multiple world championships and has appeared at multiple wrestlemanias can achieve.
Overall, were it not for a feud with Hogan then Bundy would be brushed aside by history as just another Earthquake or One Man Gang, and as such he is going onto my list of "People who should be replaced by Ed Lewis".

Freddie Blassie I don't have much to say on. His American work is outside my parameters of knowledge. He retired over 20 years ago, and people still know who he is, so that's something of a confirmation of legendary status. I know he had a few good matched with Rikidozan, but so did everyone else who worked in Japan at that time, and I've never seen any evidence of him establishing a reputation over there, so I'm not going to factor that in.

My gut instinct is that, were it not for him managerial work, nobody would remember who he was. That being said, I'm perfectly open to the idea of a person going over due to their training, booking, promoting or other talents. (Which is why, from an all round perspective I'd pick Ed Lewis to win this thing).

Blassie gets my vote, but I'm not singing the praises of either man too loudly.

Results: 7-2 for Blassie and he goes on to face Jake Ropberts in round 2.

my thoughts: Happy. While not the best in ring worker he was a great heel and an even better manager. He will always be remebered for being a manager and a great one at that. KB said it best so I'm not going to repeat what he said go read his post.
