"The Changing of the Guard"

At WrestleMania XXX, the WWE made a clear statement; it was time for a change of the guard. Whether it be the ending of the fabled WrestleMania Streak of the Undertaker, the crowning of a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion in Daniel Bryan, the continued rise of young talents such as Cesaro and The Shield or simply the impressive performance of the Wyatt Family, the message was clear. The youth movement was taking over in the WWE. True, the likes of John Cena, Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar continue to be huge stars but the way that the legends of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and The Undertaker were finally moved on told the story. As WWE evolved into the era of the WWE Network and the fourth decade of WrestleMania, no longer would the youth movement be able to rely on the veterans of the past. Now, it is their time and it is up to them to prove that they can carry this great company. Question is – will they manage it?

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
April 7, 2014

SOURCE: www.mstarz.com

The April 7, 2014 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans and opens with Daniel Bryan, the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He talks about how two years ago he started the Yes! chant and now that word unites them all. The crowd chants "You deserve it!" Triple H's music hits and he heads to the ring with Stephanie McMahon. The crowd chants "assh*le" at him. Hunter stands on the apron and says he won't get in the ring, so Bryan walks right up to him and hoists both belts for a Yes! chant. Triple H tells him to enjoy the moment because it won't last. Triple H says he will defend the belt tonight against him.

Batista walks in on Triple H and Stephanie backstage and says he doesn't understand why Hunter gets a title shot tonight. Batista says he deserves a one-on-one match. Orton comes in and wants to exercise his rematch clause. Hunter says he is the COO and he runs the company as he sees fit. Stephanie says they are both right and they deserve their matches, but tonight they will face The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championships. Orton and Batista are not happy, but HHH says when the three of them are on the same page, then no one can stop them.

The Wyatt Family comes to the ring to face John Cena, Sheamus and Big E. in six-man tag team action. The Wyatts win when Bray Wyatt plants Big E. with Sister Abigail. The crowd was SOLIDLY behind the Wyatts in this match.

Fandango and Summer Rae face Santino Marella and Emma and the latter team earns an extremely quick win thanks to the Emma Lock.

Brock Lesnar cones out with Paul Heyman (and a black eye). Heyman praises Lesnar and says he understands how the fans feel, but they told the fans Lesnar would win. Heyman calls himself the greatest manager in history and says the fans doubted them. He says Lesnar is here to shock fans and put tears in the eyes of children. Heyman says let's "shoot from the hip" and says Undertaker collapsed five seconds after walking through the curtain after the match last night. He says Vince McMahon left Mania and rode with Undertaker to the hospital, where he was treated for a concussion. Heyman also says he nearly had a broken neck and fractured skull. Heyman says the announcers and fans gave Undertaker a standing ovation, but Lesnar won the match. He says this is supposed to be the rowdiest crowd of the year, but, like the rest of the locker room, they are all a bunch of wannabes. He says no one in the locker room applauded Lesnar last night. He continues to praise his client, who he says barely tolerates him, and says he is on a platform above all other Hall of Famers and Legends.

The Tag Team Championship match ends in a double count-out as Orton and Batista beat up The Usos outside the ring. Batista hits a Batista Bomb to one of the Usos on the steel steps and Orton hits the hangman's DDT off the barricade on the other. The two pose together in the ring.

Rob Van Dam makes his return to WWE and beats Damien Sandow with the Five Star Frog Splash.

Bad News Barrett defeats Rey Mysterio with the Bullhammer. This is the closest Rey Mysterio has ever been to being a heel, as the crowd booed him throughout the match but cheered Barrett.

Lana comes out and introduces Alexander Rusev, who squashes Zack Ryder with a submission maneuver called The Accolade.

The Ultimate Warrior heads to the ring and puts on a mask to resemble his old face paint. He says the fans are the ones who made him a legend and praises the crowd.

AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka make their way to the ring and the champ talks about her 295-day title reign. She references her pipe bomb from a few months ago and calls herself "The Best Diva in the World," which draws a "CM Punk" chant. She says she IS the Divas division, but Paige's music hits and she makes her way to the ring. Paige says she came to do what no one else would, which is congratulate AJ. The champ thanks her but tells her to run back to NXT. The champ challenges her to a match, but Paige says she isn't ready. AJ slaps her and says she'll put her title on the line as a special post-WrestleMania treat. The match begins and AJ tries to lock in the Black Widow, but Paige counters into the Paige Turner and pins AJ to become the new Divas champion.

Hulk Hogan comes to the ring to present the Andre The Giant trophy to Cesaro. He talks about Cesaro throwing Big Show over the top rope and how it filled him with emotion. He introduces the winner, who comes out with Zeb Colter. Hogan congratulates him and gives him the mic, but Zeb takes it and says he brought Cesaro into the fold as a Real American months ago. He says he made him a "Zeb Colter Guy," but Cesaro takes the mic and says he is not that guy anymore because he is now a "Paul Heyman Guy." Heyman comes out and says he is the advocate for the King of Swing, Cesaro. Colter is angry, but Heyman calls him "grandpa" and says this is a week of shocking moments for Paul Heyman Guys. Jack Swagger runs out, attacks Cesaro and destroys the trophy. Cesaro rushes the ring and attacks Swagger, which sets up a match. Cesaro tries to set up a Giant Swing, but Swagger flees the ring and gets counted out.

Stephanie McMahon is backstage with Kane and The Shield. She says what happened between them at Mania was irrelevant and that they need to be on the same page to help Triple H win tonight. The Shield makes fun of the New Age Outlaws' absence. Kane calls them pawns, but Stephanie yells at him and tells them all to fall in line.

Daniel Bryan comes out to the ring for his title defense, but Orton and Batista come out after him and attack him in the ring. Orton hits an RKO and Batista hits a Batista Bomb. Kane emerges and chokeslams Bryan. Triple H's music hits and he heads to the ring with Stephanie for the match as Bryan is down in the middle of the ring. Triple H tries to get referee Mike Chioda to ring the bell, but he hesitates. He eventually rings it and Triple H moves in on Bryan, but The Shield comes through the crowd (with masks on). They jump up on the apron with Batista, Orton and Kane on the other side. The Shield gets in the ring and Triple H gets in their faces. He tries to calm down Orton, Batista and Kane, but he turns around into a spear from Roman Reigns. All hell breaks loose as Reigns delivers a Superman punch to Kane. They surround Triple H, who eats a running knee from Daniel Bryan. The champ leads a Yes chant from the turnbuckle as The Shield poses in the ring as the show goes off the air.

FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN RESULTS
April 11, 2014

SOURCE: www.mstarz.com

The April 11, 2014 edition of WWE's Friday Night Smackdown emanates live from Lafayette, Louisiana and begins with John Cena, who says that we are in a new era after WrestleMania 30. He talks about Daniel Bryan, Cesaro and The Shield winning their matches at the Showcase of the Immortals. He calls himself the "measuring stick" and "standard bearer" and says again that anyone who wants to make a name for himself in the WWE must go through him. The Wyatt Family cuts a promo backstage and Bray Wyatt says he must go to "new extremes" to bring the monster out of John Cena.

Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman) defeats Big Show via disqualification. He works as a heel throughout the match. The match ends with Jack Swagger attacking Cesaro and putting him the Patriot Lock. Cesaro hits Big Show with the Neutralizer. Before the match, Heyman cuts a promo about Cesaro and Brock Lesnar.

Ryback and Curtis Axel defeat Los Matadores.

Rob Van Dam defeats Damien Sandow.

Hulk Hogan comes down to the ring and talks about hosting WrestleMania 30. He brings out Daniel Bryan, who comes out and says he idolized Hogan as a child. Bryan insists they play Hogan's music and the two lead a Yes! chant together.

Bad News Barrett defeats Kofi Kingston.

Fandango (w/Layla) defeats Santino (w/Emma). Fandango had "broken up" with Summer Rae on Twitter earlier this week.

The Usos and Daniel Bryan fight Kane, Batista and Randy Orton to a double count-out. The heels beat up one of the Usos for most of the match, which ends with all the babyfaces diving to the outside and everyone getting counted out. Orton and Batista then beat down the Usos and Kane prepares to attack Bryan, but The Shield emerges to make the save. Bryan hits Kane with the running knee and the faces celebrate to end the show.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
April 14, 2014

SOURCE: www.mstarz.com

The April 14, 2014 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the BJCC Arena in Birmingham and begins with every Superstar on the stage as they pay tribute to the Ultimate Warrior. A video package rolls celebrating the man's life, then they toll the bell 10 times during a period of silence. Everyone then bursts into applause as Jerry "The King" Lawler invites everyone to celebrate Warrior's life. Many of the fans are wearing Ultimate Warrior masks. The Superstars and fans join together in a "Warrior" chant.

Rob Van Dam and Alberto Del Rio face off in the first match of the night, as well as the first match of the eight-man, single-elimination tournament to determine the No. 1 Contender to Big E.'s Intercontinental Championship. RVD picks up the win when he counters the Cross Arm Breaker and then hits a Five Star Frog Splash for the pin.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are backstage with Randy Orton and Batista. They all shake hands, but we can't hear what they're saying. After a commercial, Triple H informs them that Daniel Bryan is not here but it doesn't matter because The Shield is the bigger problem. He says they will not let either of them near the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and that The Shield reminds him of Evolution. Triple H says no one might be able to stop them, but Stephanie says the three of them can, and Triple H agrees. Batista and Orton both reaffirm their singles goals and say Triple H is on his own. They leave, but Stephanie says she has an idea.

Rybaxel defeat The Rhodes Brothers when Ryback.hits Cody Rhodes with a Meathook Clothesline.

Paige faces Alicia Fox and the new Divas Champion picks up the win via submission with the Scorpion Cross Lock.

The Usos get a rematch with Randy Orton and Batista but the match ends in a disqualification when The Shield runs in and assaults Orton. They surround Batista in the ring and he eats a Superman Punch from Roman Reigns.

Orton and Batista are walking backstage when Triple H and Stephanie walk up. Hunter simply says, "Told ya."

Paul Heyman comes out and says multiple times that Brock Lesnar conquered the streak. He praises Lesnar some more and then brings out Cesaro for his match with Mark Henry in the No. 1 Contender's tournament. Cesaro earns the win when he hits the Neutralizer on Henry.

Alexander Rusev (w/Lana) defeats Xavier Woods (w/R-Truth) in a squash when he makes him tap to the Accolade. R-Truth jumps in to help Woods, but Rusev stares him down and attacks him after Lana gives the command.

Sheamus defeats Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter) with a Brogue Kick out of nowhere to advance in the Intercontinental Championship tournament.

Damien Sandow comes out and says he deserves this time in front of the crowd. Big Show comes out, but Sandow mocks the crowd for cheering Show and booing him. Sandow says everyone should beg to shake his hand and asks Show if he has anything to say. The big man is silent, but Sandow gets in Big Show's face and calls himself the future of the WWE. Show hits him with the Knockout Punch and leaves.

The Wyatt Family makes their way to the ring and Bray cuts a promo. He says he has never lied to any of them, but John Cena has made a career of it. He says he has Cena up against the ropes and on the edge, and all he needs is a push. Bray says he does not want to slay the monster yet, but he does want it to come out and play. Cena emerges and says he wants to have some fun. He talks about getting Bray drunk to loosen him up. Cena shows a picture of Sister Abigail Wyatt and it's just Bray in a dress. He shows another female family member that is Luke Harper and a baby that is Erick Rowan. Bray says all Cena knows how to do is make jokes, but Cena gets serious and talks about his WrestleMania win. He challenges Bray to a match in a steel cage match at Extreme Rules with no family members there. Bray says they play with knives and one of them will get stabbed, and he thinks it will be Cena.

We learn The Shield will face a mystery opponent later tonight.

Santino Marella and Emma face Fandango and Layla and the latter team picks up the win when Layla pins Emma with a roll up.

Stephanie McMahon is backstage and tells Kane that his job performance has been lacking. She says she does not want to hear his apologies, but instead she wants the strong man she and Hunter hired as Director of Operations. She calls him a shell of what he used to be and asks what happened to him. He stands up and stares her down before he walks over to the glass case with his mask in it. He stares at the mask, removes the glass and picks up the mask. He says he will send Daniel Bryan to the depths of Hell.

Wade Barrett defeats Dolph Ziggler with the Bull Hammer. He cuts a "bad news" promo and calls himself the next Intercontinental Champion.

This means Cesaro will face RVD and Sheamus will face Barrett in the semifinals of the No. 1 Contender's tournament.

The Shield comes out to face their mystery opponents, and out come Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger, Fandango, 3MB, Titus O'Neil, Rybaxel, Alexander Rusev and Wade Barrett. Reigns spears Ryback on the outside after a bit of action and all the heels gang up on him to cause the referee to ring the bell. The Shield manages to fight everyone off after Seth Rollins takes everyone out with a dive over the top rope. The heels flood the ring and beat down The Shield. Evolution's music then hits and Triple H, Orton and Batista emerge. They slowly make their way down the ramp and the heels clear the ring. Evolution then gets in a few shots and Orton RKOs Reigns. Batista follows that up with a Batista Bomb. Seth Rollins gets the same treatment and Dean Ambrose eats the Batista Bomb/RKO combo (similar to what happened to Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30). Roman Reigns tries to crawl but Triple H taunts him. He grabs a microphone and tells them to "believe in Evolution." They pose on the ropes and turnbuckles as the show goes off the air.

Intercontinental Champion Big E. defeats Alberto Del Rio by disqualification in the first match of the night.

Paul Heyman comes out and cuts a promo to once again remind fans that Brock Lesnar ended the Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania and that he is the one in 21-1.

Divas Champion Paige beats Aksana in the next match.

Sheamus does an interview backstage.

El Torito defeats Hornswoggle.

Alexander Rusev (w/Lana) defeats R-Truth (w/Xavier Woods) in a squash match. He then destroys Woods after the match.

WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – NO DISQUALIFICATION
Daniel Bryan © vs. ???

and …

SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Evolution vs. The Shield

RAW (April 21): Since Summerslam of 2013, Daniel Bryan’s has been overcoming the obstacles placed in his path time and time and time again but now he is living his dream; after capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX – by defeating first Triple H in the opening contest and then Batista and Randy Orton in the main event – Bryan also took time off following the RAW after WrestleMania to marry Brie Bella as well. With the “love of his life” now permanently on his arm and the gold around his waist, what could go wrong for Daniel Bryan? According to Stephanie McMahon, the Principal Owner of the WWE and, of course, the wife of the man Bryan embarrassed at WrestleMania, Triple H, the answer to that question would come in the form of the seven foot, 300 pound “Devil’s Favourite Demon” himself, Kane. On Bryan’s return to RAW after his marriage, Kane, complete with his fearsome mask, returned to target Bryan and his new wife and succeeded in capturing Brie in Baltimore on the April 21 episode of RAW. A distressed Bryan agreed to Stephanie’s demands; Bryan would defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship that night against Kane in a No Disqualification match in order for the safe return of Brie into his arms. Whilst Stephanie and Kane appeared to believe that Bryan would be in no fit state mentally to defend his title, things didn’t quite go to plan and Bryan, urged on by the Baltimore crowd and defending the honour of his wife, reached deep inside and found his own venomous side as he revelled in the No Disqualification rule. After numerous chair shots to the demented Kane, Bryan hit the Busaiku Running Knee and made the 3 count in order to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship as well as a reunion with Brie. However, an angry and frustrated Kane interrupted the celebration with a huge Choke Slam to Bryan and this proved the cue for the music of Evolution, the group that reformed whilst Bryan was away celebrating his honeymoon with Brie, and the arrival of Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista …

Now, of course, WrestleMania XXX has been a nightmare for these three men and the RAW that followed failed to improve their mood. With Bryan the champion, Triple H implored Batista and Orton to get on the same page as problems erupted between themselves and The Shield. Once the protection of choice for Triple H, Roman Reigns’ Spear to The Game on the RAW after WrestleMania had sent a clear message; no more were Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins the puppets of the Authority. However, as we saw the following week, The Shield were forced to compete in a 11 vs. 3 Handicap match in the main event which simply turned into a beatdown. Following this, Batista, Orton and HHH came out to music not heard in a long time – “Line in the Sand” signalling the return of Evolution. After destroying Shield to close RAW, it appeared that the Authority-Evolution alliance was back in control. The following week, whilst Daniel Bryan had his problems with Stephanie and Kane, Triple H caused problems for the three individual members of The Shield. Dean Ambrose’s close to year-long reign as the United States Champion came to an end when he was forced into a Six-Pack Challenge and The Miz was able to emerge victorious thanks to a distraction to Ambrose by the New Age Outlaws. More cunning tricks and deception allowed Orton and Batista to win their respective matches with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns before the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Bryan and Kane …

With Evolution having the upper hand over The Shield in Baltimore, they now turned their sights on Bryan. Joining Kane in the ring, Evolution stood over Bryan and things looked bleak for the popular WWE World Heavyweight Champion as he attempted to pull himself up using the ropes. However, as Bryan looked in big danger, The Shield’s music hit and they came through the crowd and into the ring. Evolution and Kane stand facing The Shield whilst Bryan is helped out of the ring by Brie Bella – stand off. The crowd buzz in anticipation but the confrontation that they want to see fails to materialise. Batista and Orton suddenly grab Kane and shove him forward towards The Shield and they assault the Devil’s Favourite Demon. However, Evolution take the high road and they leave Kane high and dry. After a Spear from Roman Reigns to Kane, Evolution watch on from the ramp as The Shield lift him high … Triple Powerbomb! RAW closes with The Shield dominant once again, Evolution watching from the stage and Daniel Bryan still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

SMACKDOWN (April 25): Unsurprisingly, Kane is unhappy over the way Evolution fed him to The Shield on RAW and confronts Stephanie on SMACKDOWN the following Friday. Back in his corporate suit and tie, Kane demands answers from Triple H but Steph refuses him that opportunity but does tell him that he let her down on RAW by failing to defeat Daniel Bryan. Stephanie again delivers a monologue expressing her dismay at the way Kane has let go of his demented side, she throws the mask at Kane once more and tells him that tonight he needs to find it again as he is going up against The Shield in a Handicap match. Kane shakes his head, unhappy at this prospect, but Stephanie is unrelenting and demands that Kane go out there tonight and use his inner demon to destroy the “Hounds of Justice” once and for all. It is also announced by HHH later that Daniel Bryan will face Batista and Orton in a Tag Team match for the main event but needs to find a partner. HHH comments that it will be “interesting” to see who has the guts to back Bryan up against Evolution and The Authority.

Despite Stephanie’s pep talk, Kane, back in the mask, is unable to defeat The Shield. Instead, they score a relatively comfortable victory before exiting the ring and Kane is frustrated in the ring. Out comes Triple H and tells Kane that he has all the answers he needs; HHH accuses Kane of being a failure in his job with The Authority and, reminiscent of his father-in-law, HHH announces to Kane that “You’re firrrred!” to the delight of the crowd.

After announcements are made that Dean Ambrose will get his United States Championship rematch against The Miz on RAW, SMACKDOWN’s main event takes place and Seth Rollins heads out to partner Daniel Bryan in his match against Batista and Orton. With the rest of The Shield at ringside, Rollins and Bryan work as a cohesive team and are able to score a huge victory over Batista and Orton when Bryan hits the Running Knee through Orton for the 3. Evolution back off beaten, their pride wounded, as Bryan and The Shield celebrate … and then Reigns hits Bryan with a Spear out of nowhere! What the hell are The Shield doing?

RAW (April 28): The Shield open RAW the following Monday with an explanation; they inform Bryan that Reigns’ Spear on SMACKDOWN was nothing personal, it was simply a message to him: they are not on his side. Rollins informs the WWE Universe that whilst Daniel Bryan and The Shield have a common foe in The Authority, the fact remains that Daniel Bryan is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and all three members of The Shield have their eyes on him and his title. Out comes Bryan and he gets in the ring with the trio, he says he understands their reasoning but that if they want a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, they only have to ask. Bryan claims that he will forever be a “fighting champion” who defends the gold against whoever wants a shot; he just asks that whoever that challenger is, they challenge him to his face. There appears to be an element of understanding between Bryan and The Shield here and Bryan says that right now he has no challenger for the title come Extreme Rules and, whilst he knows that The Shield have a match that night against Evolution already set, he would be prepared to defend against any single one of them … Cue the interruption from Triple H. He says he finds this very interesting and makes the decision that whoever makes the winning fall at Extreme Rules between Evolution and The Shield, that man will go on to challenge Daniel Bryan later that evening in the main event. However, tonight, whilst Orton and Batista have a well-earned night off, Dean Ambrose faces The Miz for the US Championship and Bryan will face Reigns in the RAW main event.

The United States Championship match ends with more controversy as Miz manages to retain his title against Ambrose thanks to, again, the New Age Outlaws. For the second time in a week, they do the bidding of their friend HHH and ensure that Ambrose fails against Miz. That leads to a decision that later in the evening, the Outlaws will face Ambrose and Rollins and the two members of The Shield take a modicum of revenge when they defeat Billy Gunn and Road Dogg. In the main event between Bryan and Reigns, a competitive match descends into a farce when Evolution, including Batista and Orton who are supposed to be taking the night off, the New Age Outlaws and The Miz – for some reason – head out. Bryan and Reigns are decimated whilst Rollins and Ambrose, trying to rescue their fallen member, are jumped backstage by the heels of the WWE clearly on orders of Triple H. RAW ends with The Shield and Bryan significantly weakened with just six days to recover for Extreme Rules.

SMACKDOWN (May 2): On SMACKDOWN, HHH, from the comfort of his office, announces that tonight will see The Shield vs. New Age Outlaws & The Miz whilst Daniel Bryan will face a Handicap match this week as he faces Batista and Orton. In an interview prior to the 6-man tag, Miz declares that he is loving being part of The Authority but those words backfire when the Outlaws walk out on him during their match; The Shield destroy The Miz and later in the show, Stephanie informs Miz that his only use was to take the US Championship and that he is certainly not of sufficient calibre to be a member of the Authority. In the main event, Bryan competes well but there appears to be a little dissension in the ranks of Evolution now that the title is on the line if they can emerge victorious at Extreme Rules. In the end, Triple H interferes in the match and hits the Pedigree to Bryan handing the WWE World Heavyweight Champion a DQ win. As Triple H signals the belt around his waist, Batista and Orton look on with looks of annoyance. An argument erupts between them and Orton, as if to prove a point, hits an RKO on Bryan before motioning that he will be the new champion. Not impressed, Batista drags Bryan up … Batista Bomb! It appears all three members of Evolution believe that they should challenge Bryan – if they beat The Shield of course – and there is maybe a problem brewing down the line?

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Big E © vs. Bad News Barrett

RAW (April 21): The tournament to crown a new #1 contender continues on RAW as we move on to the Semi Finals – Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam, Bad News Barrett vs. Sheamus. With interest growing amongst the WWE Universe to see who would challenge Big E for the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules, RAW opened with Bad News Barrett defeating the Celtic Warrior Sheamus and earning his spot in the Final of the tournament thanks to the Bullhammer Elbow; however, the win is controversial due to Barrett ramming Sheamus shoulder first into an exposed turnbuckle immediate to hitting the finisher. Later in the evening, Cesaro, with Paul Heyman of course, faces RVD in the second Semi Final and a competitive match is spoiled when Cesaro’s former Real American partner, Jack Swagger, arrives to distract Cesaro before he hits the Giant Swing. A groggy RVD, unaware of Swagger’s presence, rolls up Cesaro and catches him unaware to get the 3 count.

SMACKDOWN (April 25): On SMACKDOWN, Bad News Barrett and Sheamus clash for a second time as Sheamus looks for revenge after his defeat on RAW whilst Barrett looks to gain further momentum ahead of the Final next Monday. However, bad news for the Celtic Warrior, he was unable once again to get the better of Barrett and another Bullhammer Elbow finished him once again. RVD is also on SMACKDOWN ahead of the Final but he is unhappy with the way he won his match on RAW; he challenges Jack Swagger to a match and they compete with RVD hitting the Five Star Frog Splash for the victory. After the match though, Cesaro attacks Swagger and their feud continues to bubble away.

RAW (April 28): So the tournament reaches a conclusion; Bad News Barrett vs. RVD for the right to challenge Big E for the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules. With Big E at ringside, the two go on to have a competitive match and the crowd are solidly behind RVD who looks set for victory when he goes up for the Frog Splash. However, Barrett rolls clear and RVD collides with the mat before being struck hard with the Bullhammer Elbow to secure the win. At Extreme Rules, it will be Bad News Barrett challenging the Intercontinental Champion Big E.

SMACKDOWN (May 2): With their title match set for Sunday at Extreme Rules, Big E declares that Barrett’s return to in-ring action has been impressive but that will all come to an end this Sunday. However, Barrett sneaks up into the ring behind the Intercontinental Champion and hits a surprise Bullhammer Elbow before suggesting that he will be delivering more ‘bad news’ on Sunday.

“REAL AMERICAN” STREET FIGHT
Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman) vs. Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter)

RAW (April 21): After failing to win the United States Championship from Dean Ambrose (with The Miz winning it instead), Swagger and Colter argue a little backstage which causes some amusement to a passing Cesaro. This leads to Swagger costing Cesaro his Semi Final match in the Intercontinental Championship tournament against RVD and their feud boils away as Cesaro splits away from the Intercontinental Championship tournament into a feud with Swagger instead.

SMACKDOWN (April 25): On SMACKDOWN, Cesaro impresses the world when he challenges – and defeats – the Big Show on SMACKDOWN; so much so that Big Show shakes his hand after the match. On the other hand, RVD and Swagger meet on SMACKDOWN but Cesaro, sore from Swagger costing him the match on RAW, attacks Swagger after the match. With Heyman and Colter arguing in a heap as well, it becomes clear that Swagger and Cesaro are destined to meet come Extreme Rules.

RAW (April 28): On RAW, Cesaro and Swagger are scheduled to fight one on one but the match ends early when Swagger, frustrated after Cesaro fights out of the Patriot Lock, resorts to using a steel chair instead. Despite the DQ win for Cesaro, Swagger bludgeons his former partner with the chair but Paul Heyman, safely out of the way, interrupts with the microphone. He suggests that if Swagger wants to make things personal and extreme, then maybe at Extreme Rules, they should fight in a Street Fight, a “Real American” Street Fight. Swagger and Colter accept the match and things are set for Sunday.

SMACKDOWN (May 2): On SMACKDOWN, Swagger attacks Cesaro backstage and injures his former partner with a brutal attack. Later, Swagger, in preparation for Sunday, faces Big Show in a No DQ match, looking to emulate Cesaro last week on SMACKDOWN, and gets a huge win; can he derail Cesaro at Extreme Rules?

****************

STEEL CAGE MATCH
Bray Wyatt (w/Erick Rowan & Luke Harper) vs. John Cena

RAW (April 21): With their Steel Cage match set, Bray Wyatt declares that Cena is intimidated by his mere presence in the WWE; all this talk of being the “standard bearer” and the “measuring stick” and the jokes is a front, Cena is hiding his true worries. Bray says he will bring out the inner monster in John Cena at Extreme Rules. Later, Cena faces Luke Harper and gets the win but it is a spirited effort from Harper who impresses. After the match, Cena fights off Rowan’s attack before looking Bray dead in the eye; double assault from behind by Harper and Rowan. Sister Abigail is hit and Bray has the upper hand once more.

SMACKDOWN (April 25): On RAW, the Wyatt Family will face Cena and Cody Rhodes and Goldust but tonight Cena faces Erick Rowan. Cena gets the win and this time exits the ring instead of facing up to Bray and Harper. Bray hits the mike and says Cena is changing; he is running scared when he would normally fight. Bray challenges Cena to deny it but he doesn’t and exits to maniacal laughing from Wyatt.

RAW (April 28): Cena and the Rhodes Brothers get the win over the Wyatt – though Bray stays out of the match throughout. Afterwards, Cody and Goldust are attacked sneakily and then Cena fights Harper and Rowan in the ring. Bray steps into the ring and signals – the steel cage drops. The Wyatts destroy Cena in the ring once more after he refuses to run a second time.

SMACKDOWN (May 2): Luke Harper and Erick Rowan defeat Cody Rhodes and Goldust as Bray Wyatt looks on; after, Bray has a final message for Cena. Win, lose or draw, he is determined to bring out Cena’s hidden monster or he will die trying. He will prove that Cena does not live up to the words on his t-shirt.

This is one of my first times reviewing!

Going into Extreme Rules, you accomplished your goal of changing paths sufficiently to make your show different. First, little things like Triple H shouting “you’re fired!” just like Vince and Shield promoting they don’t take sides made the build up for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match more enjoyable. It appears as if you want to implement something similar to what Vince said awhile ago (according to dirt sheets); the lines between heels and babyfaces need to be blurred. Kane, a heel for most of the story, ends up almost like a babyface. I felt sorry for him; his world fell apart rapidly over the course of a couple weeks. Shield are facing Evolution, which makes them babyface, but they also tell Daniel Bryan that they are not on his side. Of course, my interpretation may be incredibly off!

Although I am not a fan of The Miz winning the United States Championship, it is refreshing to get the title off of Ambrose! Looking forward to what you have planned for the championship.

From the short bits about the Intercontinental build up it seems like Barrett will be taken more as a serious competitor instead of just a guy who says "bad news!" before every match. I am surprised Rob Van Dam didn't get a match at Extreme Rules. I wonder if you are going to use RVD more as a talent enhancement, like Jericho, instead of placing him in advance storylines.

Finally got a chance to read through and it seems summary was probably the best choice for continuing WWE's ongoing storylines. I love the kidnap of Brie! That's good old, hook the car battery to your testicles, tombstone your mother, set you on fire sadistic Kane! I also enjoy his ability to turn off the monster switch so to speak and go back into his suited corporate persona. Now that he's been outed by the powers that be, I gotta believe a pissed off monster will be coming for the Authority sooner or later.

I also planned to have some affiliation of the Authority cost Ambrose the U.S. Title on the way to Extreme Rules, but I'm not too sure how The Miz fits as an instant champion. He's been pretty irrelevant for a while now, but I know your a fan of his and the Authority making it very clear that he is isn't on their level at least shows me you have a game plan. Perhaps the resurrection of the Awesome One? I also like how you've kept The Shield separate from either side of WWE's biggest war. Remaining loyal to The Shield alone is very Hounds of Justice.

Solid booking through out as I said before to set up the PPV. I won't be doing any predictions. But I do expect a wild card like Ambrose or Rollins to come out of the Six Man and into the title match at Extreme Rules. Look forward to the first GCB pay-per-view of this thread.

EXTREME RULES PRE-SHOW
LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON THE WWE NETWORK

Josh Mathews welcomes the WWE Universe to the Extreme Rules pre-show and declares that we have a massive night of action here in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with four titles on the line, a huge 6-man tag team match, a “Real American” Street Fight and a Steel Cage match for starters. As Mathews runs down the card, he makes a big deal of the fact that Daniel Bryan goes into his first PPV defence of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship but, as yet, he does not know who he will be facing. Mathews then introduces his Extreme Rules pre-show Panel for this evening – the ever dependable former WCW Champion, Booker T; the always explosive “Nature Boy” Ric Flair; and a man who knows a thing or two about the world of “extreme” … Rob Van Dam. Shots of the crowd filing into the Izod Center are shown whilst the three panellists give their initial thoughts about tonight’s event. Mathews then reveals that there will be two matches tonight on the pre-show:

BIG SHOW vs. DAMIEN SANDOW
ALEXANDER RUSEV vs. KOFI KINGSTON

As we first see a replay of Big Show’s big right hand to Sandow a couple of weeks ago, Mathews says that the punch left Sandow concussed and unable to compete until tonight where he will look for revenge on Show; Booker T suggests that Sandow should have taken a whole heap of time longer to prepare for Big Show and that he can only see one outcome here tonight and that’s another knockout for Damien. Moving on, Mathews introduces replays of the impressive debut of Alexander Rusev over recent weeks and his dominating victories over the likes of Xavier Woods, R-Truth, Zack Ryder and, this past week on SMACKDOWN, Kofi Kingston who he faces again tonight. Ric Flair gives his opinion that Kofi was the first man to show signs of weakness in Rusev last week on SMACKDOWN and that he expects the Ghanaian to cause more problems tonight for the Bulgarian Brute.

After the highlights package of Daniel Bryan overcoming the odds at WrestleMania to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the cameras switch backstage where Renee Young is stood in the Extreme Rules interview area. She introduces her guest for the interview segment – the Principal Owner of the WWE; the glamorous and smiling Stephanie McMahon. Renee suggests that Stephanie has an announcement she wishes to make and hands over the microphone to her boss.

STEPHANIE McMAHON:
Thank you, Renee. As you just saw, Daniel Bryan overcame all the odds at WrestleMania 30 to become your WWE World Heavyweight Champion and, contrary to what you may all believe, The Authority, once we had time to reflect, were impressed with the guts shown by Daniel. Whilst my husband, Triple H, and I continue to believe that Daniel is not WWE World Heavyweight Champion material, we recognise the sacrifices that Daniel has made to reach this point in his career. At WrestleMania, Daniel won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and that proves to every single member of the WWE Universe that no matter what your limitations, you can be a star if you work hard enough and believe in yourself. Unfortunately though, Daniel, all dreams have to end and tonight is the night that yours ends. You see, when Evolution destroy The Shield later tonight, one of Batista, Randy Orton or Triple H will be challenging you for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and then the clock will be striking midnight. However, I’m sure you’ll agree with me, Daniel, when I say that if your challenger is already through a gruelling 6-man Tag match before he faces you, surely you should have a match beforehand too? Therefore, Daniel Bryan will be competing in another match tonight at Extreme Rules in a non-title match before facing the winner of the 6-man Tag. Now, I expect you’re wondering who that opponent will be but we’re going to leave that little announcement until the actual PPV, a surprise for Daniel Bryan I guess you could call it? After that match, we’ll end the night with the title match and the Cinderella story of Daniel Bryan will come to an end as we crown a new WWE World … Heavyweight … Champion. Thank you, Renee.

Stephanie smiles at Renee and hands back the microphone before we return to the panellists on the platform in the arena who are looking to each other and shaking their heads. As Mathews reminds us of tonight’s matches involving Evolution, The Shield and Daniel Bryan, he asks the experts for their opinions on Daniel Bryan’s chances of walking out of Extreme Rules as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

BOOKER T:
Aww, shucks man, I gotta’ bad feeling about this one tonight for my boy, D-Bryan. Dat Stephanie McMahon is a she-devil, you dig me, but dat announcement right there, dat’s huge for tonight, man. I don’t see no way dat Daniel can survive the night as the champion.

RIC FLAIR:
I gotta’ agree with my man, Booker T, on this one, Josh. I know first-hand how powerful Evolution can be, I saw it up close and personal …

ROB VAN DAM:
Usually with me the victim, man!

RIC FLAIR:
Haha, that’s true! I fully expect Evolution to beat those boys from The Shield and I just can’t see how Daniel Bryan can overcome those odds whoever he has to face – especially after wrestling a match before that too. So I’m going for one of my boys, one of Evolution baby … Woooo!

ROB VAN DAM:
I don’t know, man, I don’t think you can count out Daniel Bryan. We’ve seen in the past that he can overcome the odds even when they’re stacked against him so I don’t know, I can see Bryan walking out champion tonight. But don’t count out The Shield, they could easily be the guys to get the win tonight and one of them challenge Bryan for the title to close the night.

After hearing the views of the three experts regarding Daniel Bryan’s defence of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Mathews throws to Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler and JBL who are at ringside at the announce table for the first match of the pre-show here tonight. Cole welcomes us all to the Extreme Rules PPV and declares that tonight will be an explosive night here as we watch two of the most dominant factions of all times in Evolution and The Shield. JBL says that he cannot wait to see it whilst King suggests that he is looking forward to the clash inside the Steel Cage between Bray Wyatt and John Cena tonight.

HALLELUJAH
DAMIEN SANDOW

Striding out into the arena, wearing his I > U t-shirt, Damien Sandow heads for the ring looking around the arena with disgust on his face as he is confronted by some of the “unwashed masses” here tonight. Into the ring Sandow goes as replays of Show hitting the KO Punch on RAW three weeks ago are shown; when the cameras return to the ring, Sandow looks angry at this being shown until we hear the familiar “Weeelllllllll!” to signal the arrival of Big Show.

CRANK IT UP
BIG SHOW

Out walks Big Show, smiling around at the crowd and clapping hands with them, before he heads for the ring and Damien Sandow. As Show steps over the top rope, Sandow orders the referee to stop Show until the bell rings. Show yells out to the crowd and salutes them before the referee signals for the bell on this first match here tonight for the Extreme Rules PPV pre-show.

Big Show celebrates the win and salutes the crowd once more as the camera focuses in on Sandow who is out cold once again. Cole hypes up the power of Show before throwing back to the WWE Network panel where Josh Mathews and the panel react to the victory of Big Show. With all three men impressed by Show getting another big win here tonight in comprehensive fashion, Mathews throws out to another highlights package from WrestleMania 30, this time featuring Bray Wyatt and John Cena.

After the highlights, we return to the interview pit backstage and back to the beautiful Renee Young who is standing beside her next guest who she introduces – John Cena. Renee asks Cena how he is feeling heading into tonight’s Steel Cage contest with Bray Wyatt considering the way Bray has been trying to break into his head recently.

JOHN CENA:
You know something, Renee? Bray Wyatt thinks he is getting inside my head, he thinks he is invading my thoughts 24/7 and he thinks he has me running scared. And I’ll admit, Bray, you’re right about being in my head but I assure you that you do not have me running scared. Are you inside my head, Bray? Have you and your family got so far inside my head that I can’t stop thinking about you? You damn right, Jack, but only because I keep imagining what I’m going to do to you tonight here at Extreme Rules, inside that steel cage, one on one. You see, Bray Wyatt thinks he knows all the questions to ask to bring me down from within. He thinks that he holds the power, he thinks he has me mentally beaten. Let me ask you a question though, Bray. What happens tonight when you lose? What happens when Bray Wyatt, once again, just like WrestleMania 30, fails to finish the job? What then? I’ve been in this business for over a decade, I know what it takes to go inside that steel cage and emerge victorious.

A shot of the steel cage hanging in the rafters of the Izod Center shows as Cena continues to speak …

JOHN CENA:
I’ve said it before, Bray, I will say it again. To be anything in this business, you’ve gotta’ go through ME. You might have left me laid out a couple of times, you might have had your two goons assault me over and over but when we rolled into WrestleMania, despite all that you promised, you failed to beat John Cena and you failed to shut me down. So tonight, steel cage, you and me, Bray. One on one. I’m tired of all the talking, I’m damn sick and tired of the cheap shots and the numbers game. You want some, Bray Wyatt? Well, come get some, I’ll be out there tonight, ready and waiting, whether you like me or hate me, the fact is that to be a major player here in the WWE, you’ve gotta’ go through me. Enough of the talk, Bray Wyatt. I’m here tonight to fight.

As Cena, a focused look of determination in his eyes, heads away from the interview area, Renee thanks him for his time and the cameras switch back to the Extreme Rules panel. In the background, the seats are filling up now with excited WWE fans who are here tonight for what should be an amazing PPV which includes, as just mentioned, the Steel Cage match between Bray Wyatt, the leader of the Wyatt Family, and John Cena. Mathews uses Cena’s words to argue against Wyatt being inside his head but then asks the question – can John Cena put Bray Wyatt in his place here tonight?

BOOKER T:
Dawg, you don’t ever bet against John Cena and tonight no different. While this boy Bray Wyatt talks a good game, he needs to prove dat his words mean something, he needs to show dat he has the tools to get the job done, if you know what I’m sayin’ … Can he get dat job done tonight? I don’t know the answer to dat question, Josh, but I do know dat John Cena will be fightin’ and swingin’ until he has nothing left. Dat’s why I’m gonna’ go with Cena, man.

RIC FLAIR:
You just gotta’ look at this kid, Bray Wyatt, though, Book, he’s the real deal in this business. You wanna’ make your name in the WWE, you gotta’ go after the big dog in the pond and, right now, that man is John Cena. In my opinion, tonight is the night that Bray Wyatt steps up and makes his mark. Wooooo!

ROB VAN DAM:
I’m one of the lucky ones on the WWE roster that hasn’t been involved with Bray Wyatt yet, man, but I do know John Cena and he is tough as they come. I gotta’ go with Ric here though, I think this could be Bray’s night but like Booker said, you count out Cena at your own risk.

Mathews thanks the three experts for their views before we head into a commercial explaining how the WWE Network works and how subscribers to the Network can see tonight’s PPV without paying extra for it. Once the commercial ends, we are back at ringside with Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler and John Bradshaw Layfield and it appears to be time for our second match tonight on the Extreme Rules PPV pre-show.

S.O.S.
KOFI KINGSTON

Decent pop for the arrival of the popular Kofi Kingston as he heads out ready for action here tonight against the man who beat him this week on SMACKDOWN, the Bulgarian Brute, Alexander Rusev. As Kofi slides into the ring and salutes the fans with the “Boom! Boom! Boom!” in the corner, Cole and JBL hype up the encounter by telling us how Kofi, more than any other opponent Rusev has faced so far, troubled the newcomer. Clips of Kofi connecting with some of his signature moves are shown before we see how Lana distracted Kingston long enough for his attempted Trouble in Paradise to be countered into a Samoan Drop before Rusev hit the Bulplex – a release German suplex – to get the win and to extend his undefeated run.

On stage, the “Ravishing Russian” Lana heads out and she speaks to the WWE Universe in Russian first of all with predictable “What?” chants in response. When Lana repeats in English, she introduces the man who will shatter the “American Dream” and destroy the hopes and dreams of all the little children who follow Kofi Kingston, the Bulgarian Brute … Alexander Rusev!

ROAR OF THE LION
ALEXANDER RUSEV
with Lana

As Rusev, with Lana in tow, makes his way down the ramp towards the ring, the crowd appear to be mesmerised by him. Once in the ring, he goes through his ritual offering prayers above before turning his attention towards Kingston who does not look at all intimidated. When both men are ready, the referee calls for the bell …

As the bell rings and Rusev is declared the winner, the Bulgarian refuses to release the hold and the referee’s protests appear to have little effect. The referee’s anger is clear and he has to resort to counting down Rusev … 1 … 2 … 3 … 4 … Rusev releases a second away from the decision being reversed and stands over Kofi with his bare foot placed on his chest. In a sign of complete dominance, Rusev raises his arms as Lana applauds behind him. On the expert panel, we hear Josh Mathews ask for opinions on Alexander Rusev … “Scary” says Booker T, “Impressive” says RVD and “Dominant” says Ric Flair. That just about sums it up and as we look at Rusev exiting the ring, Mathews tells us to make sure we’re ready because we are moments away from the Extreme Rules PPV here in East Rutherford, New Jersey tonight. Can Daniel Bryan survive the night as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion? Or will a member of The Shield or Evolution take his title away from him and end his fairytale?

ANNOUNCE TEAM
Michael Cole
Jerry “The King” Lawler
John “Bradshaw” Layfield

As Michael Cole welcomes the WWE Universe, watching live on PPV or on the WWE Network, the crowd here in New Jersey is going wild for the sixth annual Extreme Rules PPV. As the crowd cheer and wave their signs, Cole hypes up tonight’s main matches: a Steel Cage match between Bray Wyatt and John Cena, Daniel Bryan defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and, in order to determine which man will actually challenge Bryan, a 6 man Tag between the warring factions, Evolution and The Shield. With the crowd buzzing and the card now set, it’s time to kick off tonight’s PPV … and what a match we have to kick things off here tonight!

LINE IN THE SAND
EVOLUTION
Batista, Randy Orton & Triple H
with Stephanie McMahon

The cheers around the arena turn to boos as the reformed faction known as Evolution head out into the arena with smug, arrogant looks on their faces as they prepare to kick off tonight’s show here at Extreme Rules. With a slow, methodical pace, the trio – 31 WWE Championships to their collective names – head towards the ring ignoring the heat with knowing looks on their faces. Despite the slight dissension between them on SMACKDOWN two nights ago, Evolution are putting on a united front here and, should they win, one of them will head into tonight’s main event and the chance to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. As they approach the ring, Michael Cole hypes up the past accomplishments of Evolution a decade ago as a video begins showcasing their talents …

Once the video is complete, we see Evolution stood in the ring taunting the WWE Universe and looking super confident here tonight. We have Batista, the man who returned in early 2014 and won the Royal Rumble to headline WrestleMania, we have Randy Orton, the man who, until WrestleMania, was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for six months and we have Triple H, the C.O.O. of the WWE and the husband of the Principal Owner. With Stephanie ringside exerting her influence, it is hard to see how Evolution can be beaten tonight unless, as Jerry Lawler suggests, they implode from within, each man desperate for the opportunity to challenge Daniel Bryan to close the show.

SPECIAL OPS
THE SHIELD
Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins

However, here come the three men intent on spoiling the return of Evolution here in the WWE, the self-proclaimed “Hounds of Justice” themselves, The Shield. With a great pop for their arrival from the WWE Universe, the three renegades, dressed all in black and sporting masks, come through the New Jersey crowd with a clear focus on the ring and the destruction of Evolution tonight. Despite their popularity, JBL points out that all three of these men are desperate to be WWE World Heavyweight Champion as well and he believes, with recent history of arguments in the ranks, the decision by HHH to make the winning fall decisive of who challenges Bryan later is a masterstroke. As JBL claims, The Shield will crumble from within. As Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns leap the barrier and surround the corner of the ring, they look up into the squared circle where Evolution are currently residing and then slide in to join them ramping up the tension in the arena. The unenviable task of officiating this match falls to Charles Robinson who clearly has his work cut out to keep order here tonight. However, he successfully backs both teams into opposite corners before signalling for the bell. Which team will emerge victorious here tonight? And which man will get the winning fall and proceed to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship later tonight?

What an incredible way to begin the Extreme Rules PPV tonight, an absolute war between Evolution and The Shield … including civil war in amongst the two factions as well! Victorious but battered and bruised, The Game retreats from the ring after getting the 3 count on Reigns and staggers backwards up the ramp where he falls down on his backside. Joined by Stephanie, HHH raises his hand in victory and then signals to the watching crowd that he will be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion later tonight. As the crowd jeer this, Stephanie flashes an evil grin and mocks Daniel Bryan with a slow, taunting “Yes!” chant of her own. As the crowd respond with a “No!” chant, the camera flashes on the other five participants in the match. Rollins remains in a crumpled heap in front of the announce desk with EMT’s tending to him whilst his partner Dean Ambrose is struggling to his knees at the foot of the ramp after being hit with the RKO. Roman Reigns is also being treated to medical help after the sledgehammer shot he took to his head, he is conscious but looks incredibly groggy. However, the big story here in the two other Evolution members who are both stood in the ring looking out towards the stage area where Triple H is stood with Stephanie. The pair of them look intense as they stare a hole through the #1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship of Daniel Bryan; could there be problems still to navigate for Triple H ahead of his title opportunity in tonight’s main event?

Backstage, Renee Young welcomes her guests – Cesaro and his manager, Paul Heyman. Renee asks Heyman for his thoughts tonight on Cesaro putting himself in danger by participating in the “Real American” Street Fight with Jack Swagger. As Cesaro smirks at the question, Heyman moves closer and has an answer.

PAUL HEYMAN:
Renee, Renee, Renee, think about who you’re talking to here. Do you honestly believe that I, Paul Heyman, the greatest manager that the WWE has ever seen, would put my client in superfluous danger? Think about it, I am the man who just last month instigated the end of the greatest Streak ever seen in the history of Sports Entertainment, I am the man who steered my client … Brrrrrrrrrock Lesnar … to victory against The Phenom himself in The Undertaker. In the past, Renee, I took some risks in this business but nowadays I am prudent, I am more calculated and I take care of my clients better than any other manager that the WWE has ever seen. My newest client, the Swiss Superstar, the “King of Swing” himself, Cesaro, understands this better than anybody else here in this building tonight. You see, Cesaro recognises that every single decision I make on his behalf has his career and his future status as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in mind. Since WrestleMania 30, Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter have held on to Cesaro’s coat-tails for dear life, they know their association with him benefits them, but tonight, that all comes to an end. Just like when I led Brock Lesnar to the WWE Championship, just like I led Brock Lesnar to break The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak, just like when I led CM Punk to the longest WWE Championship reign of the last quarter of a century, Cesaro knows that I will lead him to the Promised Land. Tonight, Cesaro battles in an ugly, dirty war with Jack Swagger but by the end of the night, the ties that bind them will be shredded forever; Cesaro’s journey to the upper echelons of the WWE begin here tonight in New Jersey. So, Renee, tonight, it is not Cesaro in peril … That danger is reserved for Jack … Swagger.

With a smile, Heyman steps back and Cesaro nods his head in agreement before they make their way out of shot and Renee thanks them for their time here tonight. Back in the ring, the bell rings and Justin Roberts announces that the next match will be for the Intercontinental Championship …

“God save our Queen”
REBEL SON
BAD NEWS BARRETT

Although he is the heel in this contest here tonight, Barrett gets a mixed reaction from the crowd; there are clearly some Barrett followers in the arena tonight as he makes his way out onto the stage. As the Englishman throws his cloak up in the air and begins a determined but cocky walk towards the ring, Michael Cole reminds us of the way Barrett earned this title opportunity over the past few weeks on Monday Night RAW in the tournament to determine the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship. Replays of the endings in his Quarter Final match with Dolph Ziggler, his Semi Final with Sheamus and the Final victory over Rob Van Dam are shown and JBL says he has some “bad news” for Big E – Barrett is here tonight intent on striking with the Bullhammer Elbow and becoming the new Intercontinental Champion.

THREE AIN’T ENOUGH
BIG E
WWE Intercontinental Champion

With the Intercontinental Championship over his shoulder, Big E makes his way out into the arena to a decent reception from the crowd. As he walks down to the ring looking focused, his words from an interview earlier tonight before the show are played in the corner of the TV screen …

As Big E raises the Intercontinental Championship up high, Barrett looks up at it and nods his head in quiet determination; he clearly believes that he is going to walk out of the arena with that title in his hands tonight. However, Big E looks confident of retaining the title as well – as King points out, something’s going to have to give here.

BOOM! New Intercontinental Champion, Bad News Barrett hits the Bullhammer Elbow and continues his winning streak since he returned to in-ring action after the conclusion of WrestleMania 30 on RAW. As Big E rolls out of the ring and holds his head in his hands, Barrett is handed the Intercontinental Championship belt and he leaps onto the ropes to hold it high and rub it in to the WWE Universe. Looking immensely pleased with himself, Barrett celebrates in the opposite corner as well as Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler give him credit; a clean win here at Extreme Rules where Barrett was simply the better man on the night. As the camera focuses on Barrett standing tall, it then switches to the backstage area where Stephanie McMahon, huge smile on her face, is speaking on her phone to somebody and asking them if they saw it, clearly referring to the opening match tonight where Triple H and Evolution defeated The Shield.

However, she quickly ends the call when she notices somebody heading into her office. As the camera pans out, we see Randy Orton and Batista, both looking angered walking towards her. Stephanie’s face hardens at the sight of the two Authority/Evolution members looking daggers at her.

RANDY ORTON:
Stephanie, I am in no mood for games, tell me where Hunter is now!

BATISTA:
You better tell us where he is because if we find him ourselves …

Stephanie looks angry at the tone being used by Orton and Batista and stops them by raising her hand and interrupting them both.

STEPHANIE McMAHON:
Gentlemen, may I remind you who you are currently speaking to right now? You would do well to remember that before you do something or say something that you may later regret. Considering the way you are speaking right now, I feel it would not be in your best interests to tell you where Hunter is currently; I’m looking out for the two of you.

Batista looks agitated and Stephanie’s words have little effect on him by the looks of it.

BATISTA:
You would do well to remember exactly who you are speaking to as well, Steph. Don’t forget that I am not like other so-called superstars here in the WWE, I can get up and walk out of here at the drop of a dime if I choose to. When I came back to the WWE, my contract stated that I would be given a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and then Hunter pulls a stunt like that tonight?

RANDY ORTON:
Hold up a second, Dave, I was the man who lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back at WrestleMania 30 without actually being pinned or tapping out. If anybody deserved to go on and face Daniel Bryan tonight, it was me.

Stephanie glares at both men for having the audacity to argue back at her and lets out an exasperated gasp.

STEPHANIE McMAHON:
Can you two hear yourselves? In here, whining and complaining about the fact that, once again, just like WrestleMania, you couldn’t get the job done. It was your lack of competency that got Hunter involved in all this in the first place, remember? If you two had done your job at WrestleMania 30, if you had simply stopped Daniel Bryan from being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, regardless of who won the match, then tonight would never have had to happen. We could be sat here tonight looking forward to Randy Orton vs. Batista for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but you failed, gentlemen, you failed. You got Hunter involved, you caused The Shield to get involved and now you have the nerve to complain about the fact that Hunter won tonight? He was doing what you two couldn’t do, he was taking charge and sorting out your mess and you dare to barge into my office tonight and demand answers from him?

Orton and Batista’s rage appears to have subsided a little, it appears Stephanie’s words are striking a nerve with them.

STEPHANIE McMAHON:
Now, I am going to say it one more time. Go away and compose yourselves, take a shower and wait. Hunter will come and find you later and speak to you both. Remember what the big picture is, tonight. It isn’t about Triple H being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, it isn’t about Batista or Randy Orton being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. It is about stopping The Shield and defeating Daniel Bryan. One job down, gentlemen, one to go.

Stephanie fixes the pair of them with a determined look that ends the conversation. As Batista and Orton retreat, she continues to stare after them as the camera focuses on her before switching to Renee Young once again as she waits in the interview pit once more. She introduces the new United States Champion, the man who benefitted from The Shield’s problems with Evolution and The Authority when he captured the US Championship from Dean Ambrose on RAW. However, despite thinking he was “part” of the Authority after this, Miz was left to suffer the wrath of The Shield on RAW last week and told in no uncertain terms that he was not in the inner circle. Renee asks Miz for his thoughts about his beatdown from The Shield and Stephanie’s stinging words of rejection last week as he stands in his suit with the US Championship over his shoulder.

THE MIZ:
Really, Renee? Really? That’s the best question that you could come up with tonight? You’ve had the whole of the last match to prepare a question tonight and that is the result of 15 minutes thinking time?

Embarrassed, Renee stands her ground but is clearly unimpressed with Miz’ words of criticism.

THE MIZ:
It’s true, Renee, I’ve had an up and down couple of weeks here, I got a beatdown from The Shield thanks to the low down actions of the New Age Outlaws and I had Stephanie McMahon tell me that I was nothing to the Authority but you know what? It was worth it because I have got my hands on this, the United States Championship. Once again, I have gold around my waist and I can declare myself the most must-see United States Champion of all time. For the last year, Dean Ambrose has run away from challenges and hidden behind Rollins and Reigns and brought disgrace to this title. But I am going to change all that, I am going to be the man whose name becomes synonymous with this title. I did it once before and I will do it once again. You see I don’t care who wants a shot at me, I don’t care, I will be right in their faces and ready to go whenever, wherever they want to …

Miz suddenly stops as he comes face to face with … BIG SHOW! Grinning, Big Show looks down at Miz whose face is a picture; is he regretting what he just said? Big Show straightens Miz’ tie and then pats him on the shoulder.

BIG SHOW:
If it isn’t my old buddy, The Miz, stood here with his new United States Championship and telling the world that he will face anybody, any place, any time. I wonder Miz, are those just words? Or do you really mean them? I mean, if you really do mean them, how about I go out to the ring right now and you come out and join me there and we can put your theory to the test? What do you say?

As Big Show waits for an answer, Miz decides to back off away from him instead. Shaking his head, Miz walks away leaving the Big Show looking unsurprised but slightly disappointed.

BIG SHOW:
I guess when he says anybody, any place, any time, Renee, he doesn’t mean 7 foot giants …

Show smirks and winks at Renee before backing off and the cameras switch back to the ringside area where JBL and Jerry Lawler laugh in amusement at the way Big Show scared Miz off just then; Lawler declares that some things never change where the Miz is concerned.

PATRIOT
JACK SWAGGER
with Zeb Colter

Boos for the arrival of Jack Swagger, the former World Champion of course, he is accompanied by his manager Zeb Colter and JBL is delighted at his arrival. As Swagger and Colter perform their “We the people!” taunt, JBL says there has been a lot made of Paul Heyman being the greatest manager in WWE history of late but people seem to forget the current run of Zeb Colter and how he turned around the careers of Swagger and Cesaro. Unfortunately, Colter has a microphone and he seems intent on speaking up here tonight.

ZEB COLTER:
People of America, I would like a moment to speak to you all here tonight. You see, I have some disturbing and quite frankly disgusting news for you. Knowing that tonight I would be coming out here in front of all of you New Jersey people, I did a little research and found out that there are over half a million illegal immigrants here in the state of New Jersey. Half a million people who have crossed illegally into our great nation, half a million people who are costing you and I our hard-earned tax dollars. Did you know that the estimated cost of these illegal immigrant in the New Jersey state alone is over 2 billion dollars? Yet tonight, when a “Real American” Jack Swagger heads out here at Extreme Rules ready to fight a man from Switzerland, ready to fight for the honour of this proud nation, you people are ready to cheer for him? We gave Cesaro his chance to be a “Real American” and a chance to fight the good fight alongside us but at WrestleMania, Cesaro made the decision to change his allegiances. And you people support him and cheer for him, just like you support the fact that this state has so many illegal immigrants here stealing jobs and healthcare. Quite frankly, New Jersey, that upsets me and I implore you all to change your allegiances tonight and support the only man in this fight that is dedicated to the red, white and blue of this once great nation. So, please rise up and place your hand over your chest and say with me, in a loud, clear voice … WE, THE PEOPLE!

Strong words from Zeb tonight as he accompanies Swagger to the ring, the pair of them stand in the ring awaiting the arrival of their former “Real American” partner …

SUPERHUMAN
CESARO
with Paul Heyman

New entrance theme tonight for Cesaro as he makes his way out, smiling, with Heyman by his side. Shaking his head at the comments he just heard from his former manager, the “King of Swing” makes his way towards the ring intent on victory here tonight in the “Real American” Street Fight. At this point, JBL questions what makes a Street Fight a “Real American” one and neither Cole nor Lawler have an answer it seems; it just is! However, as the bell is about to ring, Heyman interrupts as he gets hold of a microphone himself and answers the question.

PAUL HEYMAN:
Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman … and I know you’re all ready to see Jack Swagger and Cesaro go up against each other here tonight but I feel there is something I need to advise you all about. You see, when I made the challenge to Mr. Swagger and Mr. Colter here on RAW last Monday, the challenge was for a “Real American” Street Fight, not just a simple Street Fight. Whilst you two gentlemen may not have thought to ask what was meant by a “Real American” Street Fight, I think now would be an excellent time for me to inform you otherwise I am sure we will never hear the end of the moaning and whining.

A laugh goes up around the arena as Heyman insults Swagger and Colter …

PAUL HEYMAN:
Now, a “Real American” Street Fight is nice and simple, really. Yes, it is a Street Fight but there is a twist. Whilst the action tonight can spill all over the arena like any normal good ol’ fashioned Street Fight, the aim is not simply to pin your opponent or make them submit. The aim is simple – incapacitate them enough to pin them or make them tap out … and then get back home to the ring. If you are pinned or submit, then you have 1 minute, 60 seconds, to get back to the ring otherwise you are defeated. I just thought I’d better let you know.

As Heyman smirks, Swagger and Colter, after looking angry at not knowing in the first place, whisper to each other, clearly discussing tactics and how this changes things. The referee signals for the bell and orders Heyman and Colter to leave the ring and we are underway between these two former partners.

As “Superhuman” echoes around the arena, Cesaro recovers whilst his hand is raised in victory; a superb effort tonight from Cesaro and the WWE Universe are delighted with his win. As the cameras show Swagger, still laid out beside the limo, Cesaro looks pleased with himself as he picks up a big win over his former partner and cements his status as one of the best up and coming youngsters in the WWE today. Looking exhausted, Cesaro acknowledges the cheers of the crowd before he falls to a knee once more. Cole, JBL and King hype his achievement up and JBL declares it a “Match of the Year” candidate with so much excitement involved. Whilst this is possibly a little over the top, there is no doubt that Cesaro and Swagger just delivered an incredibly exciting match here tonight.

The cameras switch backstage where Renee Young introduces the new WWE Intercontinental Champion, the man who defeated Big E moments ago, Bad News Barrett. Looking delighted with his win, Renee asks Barrett if he has a message for the man he beat tonight. Laughing, Barrett takes the microphone from Renee, adjusts the title belt over his shoulder and smirks at the camera.

BAD NEWS BARRETT:
Ladies and Gentlemen, listen to me, your new Intercontinental Champion!

A little pop for this, it appears that some of the WWE Universe enjoy Barrett’s “bad news” segments.

BAD NEWS BARRETT:
New Jersey, tonight you have witnessed one of THE greatest moments of 2014 here in the WWE, Bad News Barrett becoming the Intercontinental Champion when I defeated Big E in that ring. But, unfortunately, New Jersey, I have some BAD NEWS FOR YA!

The crowd are split as Barrett goes on to explain himself.

BAD NEWS BARRETT:
You see, whilst Bad News Barrett being the Intercontinental Champion is definitely not bad news, Big E losing the title is yet another example of the United States of America failing to defeat the British when it comes to the crunch.

Now, he’s getting booed by the crowd!

BAD NEWS BARRETT:
Whether it be the British Army capturing and burning your capital city of Washington D.C. down to the ground in 1814 or Bad News Barrett beating Big E here tonight at Extreme Rules, the result is that all of you people are once again proven to be second rate compared to the people of Great Britain. Consequently, people across the globe will always look at America as a stain on the Earth whilst acknowledging that Britain will always be welcome across the world in any capacity it desires. Just like I, Bad News Barrett, will be a welcome choice as the Intercontinental Champion across all four corners of the world and the popular choice to be the next man to be the WWE World Heavy …

Annoyance spreads over Barrett’s face as Big E walks into shot and interrupts his flow. However, Big E, showing immense class, offers his hand to the man who defeated him moments ago.

BIG E:
Congratulations, Barrett, great job tonight. You were the better man and deserved to win.

As Big E holds his hand out, Barrett looks down at it and smirks again before ignoring it and walking away with a smug look on his face. However, Big E shakes his head and smiles before speaking to Renee who is holding the microphone out to him now.

BIG E:
I guess that is what he calls the class of the British, yeah? I’ll give him credit, tonight he deserved the win and he deserves to be the new Intercontinental Champion. But I have a rematch clause and tomorrow night on RAW, I will take that rematch, learn from my errors tonight and win back the Intercontinental Championship. You can count on that.

Renee thanks Big E for his words as he heads away – big announcement there though. Big E will challenge Bad News Barrett tomorrow night on RAW as he looks to win back his Intercontinental Championship! Back at ringside, Michael Cole introduces replays from the Extreme Rules pre-show that aired moments before tonight’s PPV live on the WWE Network and we see Stephanie McMahon’s announcement that Daniel Bryan will face a match tonight before his WWE World Heavyweight Championship defence to make things fair after the Evolution and Shield contest earlier tonight; we, of course, now know that Triple H will be the one to challenge Bryan for that title. We also see replays of Big Show knocking Damien Sandow cold once more to get the victory and Alexander Rusev continue his domination of the WWE with another big victory over the game but ultimately unsuccessful Kofi Kingston.

The #1 contenders for the Tag Team Championship head out with Michael Cole highlighting their impressive winning streak of late – victories over Cody Rhodes and Goldust, Los Matadores and even the champions themselves in recent weeks. As Ryback prowls around the ring, Curtis Axel, the son of the late great Mr. Perfect of course, holds his arms wide as he poses on the corner buckles. Can RybAxel win once again here tonight, when it really matters, and head away from Extreme Rules as the new Tag Team Champions?

THE USOS
WWE Tag Team Champions

As the Tag Team Champions follow their traditional entrance, they head for the ring with the Tag Team Championships around their waists and looking to retain them here tonight against the dangerous challengers, RybAxel. As they salute the crowd, The Usos hold their titles high and look confident but will they be able to hold onto them tonight? Jerry Lawler says that after recent results, the champions are potentially the underdogs here tonight, not the normal situation for champions to be in, he thinks they could be in danger of losing the belts here tonight.

A successful title defence for the Usos who had to battle back from a difficult early situation here tonight but found a way to come back for the win and preserve their Tag Team Championship reign. As Ryback and Axel slump out of the ring and away, The Usos celebrate with their title belts, a hard fought victory but a big victory considering their recent losses to RybAxel in Tag and Singles competition. As The Usos celebrate, we switch to a promo video highlighting the imminent return of one of the greats here in the WWE …

CHRIS JERICHO
RETURNS TO RAW
Monday May 19

Big news there, Y2J returns in two weeks’ time as RAW moves on towards the next PPV, Payback, to be held on June 1, 2014. However, before all that happens, we have more issues to deal with this evening and the PPV continues backstage as we see Brie Bella, the new wife of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan of course, walking backstage. As she does, she comes across the wife of his challenger tonight and the Principal Owner of the WWE, Stephanie McMahon. Steph reaches out and stops Brie to speak to her as they cross.

STEPHANIE McMAHON:
Brie, I know that our husbands are currently having a few “issues” with each other but I just wanted to say, from the bottom of my heart, that I hope you and Daniel have a wonderful life together. I heard the wedding was amazing and it is lovely to see two people here in the WWE meet each other and fall in love.

Brie Bella smiles a distrusting smile at Stephanie and she picks up on this.

STEPHANIE McMAHON:
Come on, Brie, let’s not have the problems between Daniel and Hunter come between us. You know what the men are like, they’re always battling to be the alpha male, there’s no reason for you and I to fall out, is there?

Brie looks at Stephanie with a look of confusion.

BRIE BELLA:
That’d be fine, Stephanie, that’d be fine if you were sticking your nose into their business every five seconds wouldn’t it? You talk about Daniel’s problems with Triple H as if you’re not involved in any way. Daniel doesn’t deserve all the grief you’re causing him, Stephanie.

Stephanie smirks and rolls her eyes at Brie.

STEPHANIE McMAHON:
Let me put things differently, Brie. There’s no reason for you and I to fall out over this because, quite simply, I am your boss. Tonight, I suggest you get ready to console your little husband because by the time that Triple H is finished with him tonight, not only will he no longer be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, he’s going to need some TLC. Tonight, Daniel goes out there and faces an opponent of my choosing in a match and then he will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship immediately after that …

Jeers in the arena for the news of the scheduling but we are still no clearer about who Bryan will be facing …

STEPHANIE McMAHON:
… and Brie, I guarantee that his little fantasy, his little dream … it ends tonight when Hunter turns it into a nightmare.

Stephanie walks away, message delivered, leaving a worried looking Brie Bella stood against the wall. However, the PPV carries on and we have another huge match coming up next as John Cena and Bray Wyatt clash inside a Steel Cage. After their match at WrestleMania 30, when Cena overcame the demons that Wyatt was trying to plant in his head, things have continued to heat up between them in the past few weeks and tonight things are to be settled inside a steel cage. What horrors await John Cena here tonight? The cameras focus on the cage as it is lowered, flashlights popping all around the arena as it does, whilst Michael Cole hypes up the match coming up next and we head into the history video …

*** VIDEO PACKAGE ***

The video shows Bray Wyatt and his family distracting Cena at the Royal Rumble to deny him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship before being hit with the Sister Abigail before moving on to the Elimination Chamber and the “Man of 1000 Truths” again costing Cena his chance to win the gold. As we see Wyatt’s attacks on Cena in the build to WrestleMania 30, Cena appears looking disorientated and confused before we see the unique tactics employed by Bray at the biggest event of the year. The video really plays up the choices in front of Cena on that night in New Orleans – listen to the demons or fight back against the demons – and his eventual victory, of sorts, over Bray to satisfy the huge numbers of his Cenation in attendance. However, that was not the end of that and we see clips of Bray Wyatt’s continued attention on Cena, his accusations of Cena lying about his true intentions and his twisted words suggesting that Cena has a “hidden monster” inside that is waiting to be unleashed. The video ends with distorted clips of Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment and the STF to Wyatt at WrestleMania whilst monstrous sounds are heard – will we witness the unleashing of Cena’s hidden monster here tonight?

*** END VIDEO ***

When the video ends, we head back to the ring which is now shrouded inside the steel cage as we prepare for what is sure to be another epic, emotional battle here tonight …

MY TIME IS NOW
JOHN CENA

To the usual mixed reception, Cena, dressed in neon green and black, heads out and salutes the crowd whilst grinning at the reaction; as the camera spins past him, he shouts out that “We going to hell and back tonight!” before heading down the ramp towards the ring. Instead of sliding under the bottom rope as he normally would, Cena pauses and surveys the steel cage before heading through the doors and stepping through the ropes instead here tonight. Once inside the cage, he again salutes the crowd as they cheer or boo him in polarising fashion. However, as he removes his entrance gear and hands it over to the official, there appears to be an apprehensive look in his eyes. What horrors await Cena here tonight in New Jersey?

Suddenly, the lights drop and the Wyatt’s entrance is announced before they appear on the big screen with the lantern in Bray’s hand.

BRAY WYATT:
New Jersey … We’re here!

BROKEN OUT IN LOVE
BRAY WYATT
with Erick Rowan & Luke Harper

With many of the crowd clapping along rhythmically with Wyatt’s theme, the trio head out into the darkness with just the solitary lantern lighting their way. Behind Bray are his followers, Harper dragging the rocking chair and Rowan in the sheep mask, he stops at the bottom of the ramp and looks up in the dim light at Cena in the ring. Smirking, Wyatt blows out the lantern before the lights return and we then see Bray, Hawaiian shirt and white trousers on, remove his hat as he sits in the chair. Slowly, he gets up and heads for the cage door but he is making Cena think about this; can Bray Wyatt prove his dominance over Cena extends to inside the ring as well as inside his head? The cage door is locked and the bell is rung …

Laid amongst the splintered Spanish announce table, the announcement is made that John Cena is the victor here tonight; but he looks anything but victorious as he lies flat out. The announce team are in shock – Bray Wyatt, without a care for winning the match, threw John Cena off the top of the cage wall and through the Spanish announce desk and, technically, handed John Cena the victory here tonight. However, as Bray sits astride the top of the cage, he is laughing and appears to be unconcerned over the “loss” here tonight. What will this monster do next? EMT’s and medics are tending to Cena who has not moved since he crashed through the table and there is real concern amongst the announce team as they look on sombre at Cena’s mangled body. Michael Cole, quietly, offers the view that John Cena’s career could be over tonight here at Extreme Rules …

EXTREME RULES
Izod Center
East Rutherford, NJ
Sunday May 4, 2014
(continued)

Once we return from the advert for the next WWE PPV in four weeks’ time, Payback, the cameras return showing John Cena being loaded onto a stretcher at the side of the ring, minus the cage and minus the Wyatts, before he is wheeled out of the arena with some concerned looks on the faces of the WWE Universe. Jerry Lawler says that John Cena is one of the toughest men there has ever been in the WWE and that to see him leave like that, neck brace and all, is not a sight he likes whilst JBL suggests that Michael Cole could be right – if Cena’s career is not over, he expects him to be absent for a long time after a fall like that. Cole throws up to the WWE Network panel sat up in the stands where Josh Mathews is waiting …

Up at the WWE Network panel, Ric Flair, Booker T and Rob Van Dam look shocked at what they have just seen; Mathews suggests to them that we may just have seen the destructive power and attitude of Bray Wyatt as well as – potentially – the end of John Cena’s career.

BOOKER T:
Man, I’m … I’m … Am speechless, man. I can’t believe I just saw Bray Wyatt do ‘dat, right there. He coulda’ won the damn match but … Wow, man.

RIC FLAIR:
We knew this man was dangerous but y’know, did we think he would do that? I’ve seen guys go through a lot in this business but I don’t see how John Cena can ever be the same again after that.

ROB VAN DAM:
How do you deal with a man like Bray Wyatt? How can you contend with a guy like that, man? He doesn’t appear to care about winning and losing, that makes him as dangerous a man as has ever set foot in this business.

Mathews summarises that, like many here in the Izod Center tonight, the main emotion right now on the panel appears to be one of shock at Bray Wyatt’s actions here tonight. The cameras are back on Cena as he is wheeled through the backstage area and loaded into the ambulance. As the engines begin, the sirens are started but as the door is closed and the ambulance sets off, we see Bray Wyatt, flanked by Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, smiling in a mesmerised fashion. What have these monsters done here tonight at Extreme Rules?

Follow that – who wants to be out next after what we just saw? Well, the bell rings and we are informed that it is time for the Triple Threat match for the Divas Championship …

LIGHT IT UP
AJ LEE

Making her way out into the arena, AJ gets a big reception as she heads out into her hometown crowd here tonight. The former Divas Champion skips her way to the ring and slides under the bottom rope where she looks around at the New Jersey crowd as they cheer her here tonight. However, AJ has a microphone and appears to have something she wants to get off her chest. She looks around and begins to speak out …

AJ:
Here I am, back in New Jersey … But this time, I am missing something. What could it be?

AJ looks down at her waist and then snaps her fingers.

AJ:
Oh yeah, my WWE Divas Championship. The Divas Championship that I held longer than any other Diva in the history of the WWE. The Divas Championship that I lost, somehow, on RAW … to Paige.

More cheers, this time for the popular Divas Champion.

AJ:
And all of you people cheer, don’t you? I come out here in front of my home crowd and you all cheer me like you care about me but when Paige came out on RAW, I bet every single one of you was rooting for her to end my reign of dominance. But why would I expect any different from all of you? Why would I expect you to be on my side? After all, nobody here cared for me when I was a little girl moving from motel to motel, begging friends and family to let us stay there. The state of New Jersey did nothing for my family and I. When I was working three jobs to follow my dream of making it to the WWE and becoming the best Diva in the business, you all paid lousy tips and nobody cared. Back when I was wrestling under the name of Miss April here in New Jersey, hardly any of you came to watch me perform, none of you cared about AJ Lee then. So what’s changed, New Jersey? Is it because I made it? Is it because I was the Divas Champion?

As the crowd begin to turn on AJ a little, she smirks.

AJ:
Tonight, I go up against that lucky rookie, Paige, and that stupid powerhouse, Tamina. And I am going to win back my WWE Divas Champion and begin a brand new dominant reign as the Divas Champion. And if I do, some of you might cheer for me but you know what? I don’t give a damn what you do, New Jersey. None of you ever gave a damn about me until I won the Divas Championship. And when I win it back tonight, I still won’t give a damn about any of you.

Boos in the arena as AJ slams her home state before tossing the microphone away.

TROPICAL STORM
TAMINA SNUKA

The “stupid powerhouse” – as AJ just referred to her – heads out looking unimpressed with her former partner’s words there. As Tamina, the daughter of the great Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, heads for the ring, she points to AJ and tells her that she is going to beat her here tonight and be the new Divas Champion. AJ laughs and ignores Tamina as she gets into the ring; Tamina glares at her before the Divas Champion arrives.

STARS IN THE NIGHT
PAIGE
WWE Divas Champion

Nice pop for the new Divas Champion, the rookie Paige. As she excitedly heads out for her first ever WWE PPV, Paige salutes the fans and she gets a cheer from the crowd, many more of whom are supporting her after AJ’s words, before she gets on the apron and raises the title high. In the ring, Paige hands over the Divas Championship and her jacket whilst Michael Cole suggests that despite winning all her matches since winning the title, Paige is still trying to prove herself here in the Divas division and many people believe that the power of Tamina or the know-how of AJ could lead to Paige’s title reign coming to an end here tonight just 27 days after she became the champion. The title is held high by the referee before he signals for the bell and the match begins …

Delight for the Divas Champion as she survives her first Divas Championship defence here on PPV at Extreme Rules! As the crowd cheer, Paige is handed the Divas Championship title belt and decides, with AJ and Tamina looking less than pleased here, that getting out of the ring would be a good idea. Backing off up the ramp, Paige smiles as she raises the title belt high over her head and the crowd respond with cheers and applause. However, AJ is less than pleased as she screams out in frustration whilst Tamina, still holding her head where she hit it falling out of the ring, is glaring out after the Divas Champion too. As Paige exits, AJ turns her attention on Tamina and is clearly blaming her for the fact that she was unable to regain her title here tonight. As AJ prods Tamina in the chest and castigates her, the Samoan cracks and delivers a right hand to AJ that knocks her hard to the mat. Dragging AJ up, the crowd are partially behind her here after AJ’s words about New Jersey earlier this evening; Samoan Drop from Tamina to AJ! Unwilling to accept AJ’s criticism any more, Tamina climbs to the top rope and salutes her father, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, before leaping off … SUPERFLY SPLASH CONNECTS! Tamina lands on AJ and connects perfectly before standing over her and glaring down at her former partner. What a message from the Samoan Powerhouse here tonight.

After replays of Tamina’s attack on AJ are shown, Tamina is shown exiting the arena before the cameras switch to the locker room where Batista and Randy Orton, two-thirds of Evolution, are shown still looking rather annoyed over the actions of Triple H earlier this evening. As they mutter between themselves, we see the “Cerebral Assassin” himself, dressed and ready for action here later tonight, enter the locker room. Immediately, Batista and Orton stand up and stare at the C.O.O. of the company, they are frustrated over the way that Triple H took advantage of their downfall tonight to slip in the back door and get the victory for Evolution which means he challenges for Daniel Bryan’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship tonight. However, The Game holds his hands out to calm them down.

TRIPLE H:
Guys, hold it, hold it. Look, I get it, you’re frustrated, you’re annoyed, I get it. I would be too but hear me out will ya?

Batista and Orton hold off a moment but it is clear that they are prepared to make HHH pay for his actions earlier tonight.

TRIPLE H:
When we reformed all this, Evolution, back together again, we did this for a reason. A reason bigger than individual reigns as champion, a reason bigger than Evolution beating The Shield. We did this to end that little troll and his phony title reign once and for all and I am damned if I am going to allow him to come between the three of us here tonight. The three of us, Evolution, we defeated The Shield tonight and we earned the right to face Bryan tonight for his title. It doesn’t matter who it is – it could have been Dave “The Animal” Batista … it could have been the “Legend Kill … the Legend” Randy Orton … or it could be me. We’re here tonight for one reason and one reason only; stop Daniel Bryan once and for all, end this damn “Yes!” movement and take back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Triple H looks into the eyes of Batista and then switches to Orton; are they relenting?

TRIPLE H:
We just need to end this here tonight, end Daniel Bryan. When we take back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, when the title is back in the hands of the Authority, we can give you both a shot at it, we can have a tournament, we can do whatever we want to do. But tonight, here at Extreme Rules, the main objective is to walk out of here tonight, out of this craphole that is New Jersey …

Large boos from the crowd outside in the arena.

TRIPLE H:
… with that WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the possession of Evolution, the possession of the Authority … and no longer around the waist of Daniel Bryan. I know you’d both rather be the ones to challenge for the title but all that matters is that one of us is. Now, are you both with me?

Despite the animosity that Batista and Orton were displaying, things appear to be calmer now. Hunter offers his hand to the Animal and he pauses for a moment and looks to Orton … before he shakes the hand of the Game. HHH also offers his hand to Orton and we see a second handshake – Evolution are back on the same page here tonight ahead of HHH’s title shot at Daniel Bryan later tonight. As the cameras switch back to the announce table, Michael Cole talks about earlier tonight on the Extreme Rules pre-show and the comments of Stephanie McMahon, the wife of Triple H, regarding Daniel Bryan here tonight …

Returning live, we head backstage once more and join Renee Young right now after seeing the replay earlier this evening. She smiles before welcoming her guest at this time … the WWE World Heavyweight Champion … Daniel Bryan. By his side, on his arm, is Brie Bella and she looks a little concerned tonight but Bryan has a smile on his face and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder. Renee says that Daniel Bryan went through so much to achieve his dream at WrestleMania 30, beating Triple H first and then overcoming Batista and Orton in the main event, but does he believe that he can do it all over again here tonight at Extreme Rules? Bryan smiles and then answers.

DANIEL BRYAN:
Renee, I understand your concerns but let me tell you something – I worked my butt off to win this WWE World Heavyweight Championship and I am willing to work twice as hard again if it means hanging onto this title. Tonight, I know I am going to finish the evening by facing the C.O.O. of this company, Triple H, he’ll probably have his two henchmen beside him as well in Randy Orton and Batista and scariest of all, he’ll have that witch Stephanie McMahon with him as well. Before that, I’ve got another match against an unknown opponent and quite frankly, if I know Triple H and Stephanie, it’ll be somebody who is going to push me right to the limit before I defend the title. But, you see Renee, the Authority and Evolution forget something – I overcame all of these factors at WrestleMania 30 and came out with this title and tonight, right here in New Jersey … right here with the “Yes!” movement in full voice, I will walk out as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. I don’t know how I’m going to do it, I don’t know what it’s gonna’ take but tonight, when the curtain comes down, Triple H will fail once again. He’s been trying to hold me down since Summerslam last year but he hasn’t succeeded yet and he won’t succeed tonight.

Bryan smiles to Renee before clutching the hand of his beautiful wife and guiding her away from the interview zone as Renee thanks him. Back at the announce desk, Michael Cole hypes up the size of the task in front of Bryan here tonight. A match against an unknown opponent followed by a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against Triple H with no rules and no diaqualification – Lawler says he wants to believe in Bryan and the “Yes!” movement but he has a bad feeling about tonight; JBL declares that the Cinderella story will come to an end here tonight …

EXTREME RULES
Izod Center
East Rutherford, NJ
Sunday May 4, 2014
(continued)

RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES
DANIEL BRYAN
WWE World Heavyweight Champion

A huge reception for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion as he walks out, title belt around his waist, and looks around the arena at the crowd who are on their feet. A broad smile on his face, Bryan, without Brie now, slowly raises his hands and leads the crowd … YES! YES! YES! YES! As Bryan sidesteps his way towards the ring and points to the rafters, the crowd follow his lead and the noise is deafening here. Can Daniel Bryan find a way to overcome the odds and retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship here tonight? As Bryan salutes the crowd from inside the ring, his music fades and we await the identity of his first opponent here tonight …

…

…

…

…

SOMEBODIES GONNA’ GET THEIR ASS KICKED
MARK HENRY

The World’s Strongest Man is back here tonight – and is coming for Daniel Bryan! Snarling and growling, he walks towards the ring with a look of determination in his eyes; Henry knows that this could be a huge opportunity to insert himself squarely into the title picture himself somewhere down the line. As Henry approaches the ring, Bryan looks a little concerned as he eyes the huge behemoth coming towards him here. Jerry Lawler says that Bryan will be lucky to survive the first match never mind the WWE World Heavyweight Championship that follows as the referee checks both men and signals for the bell here tonight …

As the referee’s hand comes down for the 3, the crowd pop for another big hard-fought victory tonight for Daniel Bryan; however, as we know, the job is only half done. Henry, who dominated the second half of that match and really brought his big-match game tonight, looks frustrated as he sits in the middle of the ring and he curses to himself that he allowed Bryan to get out of his control and hit the Busaiku Knee right there. As Bryan staggers to his feet, he leads the crowd in a “Yes!” chant and this appears to anger Henry who gets to his feet and spins Bryan round … WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM! HENRY HITS THE WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM ON THE WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! The crowd boo and jeer but the damage is done; Bryan is laid out in the ring and the World’s Strongest Man kneels over him with a look of intensity in his eyes. As he rolls out of the ring, the crowd chant at Henry … “Asshole! Asshole!” … Henry laughs but nods his head in recognition of the chant before making the decision to enter the ring again. He grabs the chair that he attempted to use at the end of the match and throws it down to the mat in a temper. Despite the pleas of the WWE Universe, he drags Bryan off the mat … WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM ON THE CHAIR! A SECOND STRIKE FROM HENRY TO BRYAN HERE! Boos ring out as Henry again rolls out of the ring and begins to walk away … “That’s what I do!” he screams at the WWE Universe as they complain at him, he does not appear to have any regrets over his actions here tonight.

KING OF KINGS
TRIPLE H
with Batista, Randy Orton & Stephanie McMahon

What appropriate timing! As Henry leaves Bryan wasted in the middle of the ring, the appearance of the Game causes huge heat in the arena as it appears he is simply coming out here tonight to pick the carcass of Bryan off the canvas and end his reign as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. As Evolution and Stephanie pass Mark Henry, HHH nods his head in recognition of Henry’s actions before continuing his entrance to the ring. Approaching the ring, Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton laugh and Michael Cole suggests that their issues from earlier in the night appear resolved here. As Hunter stands in amusement on the apron, looking down on Bryan, he signals that the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is coming back to the Authority before getting in the ring and demanding that the referee ring the bell and starts the match. Protesting, the official tries to get Daniel Bryan back on his feet but the C.O.O. drags him away and reminds him that his job could be on the line if he does not ring the bell and start the match here. Reluctance on his face, the referee realises he has no choice and informs Bryan of the match and its impending start … and then signals for the bell.

An explosion of noise as Daniel Bryan, somehow, has retained his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in his first PPV defence since winning the title at WrestleMania 30. As the crowd jump up and down with delight, Bryan is absolutely out on his knees and does not appear to be able to focus on the fact that he has retained his title. However, the crowd are going wild and will him on; staggering, Bryan gets to his feet and leads a huge “Yes!” chant before holding his title up high. Opposite, Triple H is stunned and is staring out of the ropes up the ramp at Batista and Orton, the men who deserted him here tonight, who have looks of satisfaction on their faces at a job well done. Why have Batista and Randy Orton turned their backs on Triple H tonight? How has Daniel Bryan been able to find a way to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship? The crowd don’t appear to care about how Bryan has done it; the important thing is simply that he has done it. As the PPV closes, Bryan, beaten up and hurt, holds the WWE World Heavyweight Championship up high – he is still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion to the delight of the fans here tonight.

FINALLY!

Some Extreme Rules feedback.

You don't submit posts my friend. You submit novels. No complaints though. I can literally see the matches as I read through your show. Some of the bullet points I typed down while reading.

Evolution vs The Shield opens the show! Just like with WrestleMania we kick things off on a high note. A main event note. Triple H is such a prick. I really thought Roman Reigns was gonna take down all three guys. I also kinda expected maybe Ambrose to steal the victory from Reigns in the end. But Triple H walks out with the title shot, and I guess my only gripe with this is I think Triple H vs Daniel Bryan would have been better as an announced match you could have featured. I really thought with a contender being decided night of that a surprise winner would be coming out of the six-man tag. Either way, Triple H vs Daniel Bryan for the TITLE is best for business. But do The Shield accept defeat, or is the war just starting?

Just like in real life, I hated Barrett going from no TV time to Intercontinental Champion in a month. I really wish Big E had retained and forced Barrett to up his game in order to eventually take the title.

Cesaro vs Jack Swagger ONE on ONE is the match I wanted at Extreme Rules. And a Real American street fight is just awesome. Very creative stipulation. It doesn't lend to just false finishes.. but actual finishes, that are eventually void. Cesaro had to win here and I'm glad he did. I just wonder how long the pairing of Swagger and Colter can exist without victories.

What can I say about Cena vs Wyatt. Its the best story WWE has told since Jericho and HBK consumed the last half of 2008. Your spin on the feud has been just as interesting and if you told me I'd be happy with Cena winning the match before I read it, I wouldn't have believed you. But what a finish! Wyatt kills Cena! Throwing him off the cage to crash and burn into the announce table is.. it's so Wyatt. He doesn't care about winning. Obviously. I can't wait to see where this goes.

The Authority making Daniel Bryan wrestle a match prior to his championship match is excellent. I could totally see them doing that. Idk how I feel about Mark Henry being the opponent. Yeah he's a big opponent, but it's not someone I worried about Daniel defeating. I guess the point was just to punish the champ, which defeintely worked.

I'm happy to see Daniel Bryan retain the title. But you gotta wonder how long he can hold on to it. Everyone in Evolution wants it. Everyone in The Shield craves it. And lets not forget about Wyatt and Cena. Two men Bryan has history with.

But with all that said..

My big question.. is are you running with Daniel Bryan's neck injury in your thread?

** 5-POINT PREVIEW **

DANIEL BRYAN RETAINS THE WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP AT EXTREME RULES!
Just as he did at WrestleMania 30 last month, Daniel Bryan, despite all the obstacles that he faced on the night and two gruelling matches once again, somehow managed to find a way to end the night with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship still around his waist and leading the WWE Universe with a “Yes!” chant. Against all the odds, Bryan managed to defeat – at short notice – the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry before facing his nemesis since Summerslam last year, Triple H, in the main event with the title on the line. After the C.O.O. of the WWE emerged from the opening match of the PPV, the 6-man tag between Evolution and The Shield, as the man who earned the winning fall, he challenged Bryan for the title but was unable to find a way to end his title reign as the “Yes Movement” gathers pace. What will happen tonight is anybody’s guess but it is sure that Triple H will not be happy to see Bryan still holding the gold and will be doubly determined to find a way to take the title away. How will he respond to Bryan’s victory at Extreme Rules? And how will Bryan celebrate the successful defence of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship with the WWE Universe in Albany? FIND OUT ON RAW!

WILL BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON EXPLAIN THEIR ACTIONS?
One of the reasons for Triple H’s failure to end Bryan’s championship reign was the walkout of his Evolution team-mates during the main event. After Triple H “stole” the winning pinfall in the first match of the evening to earn the right to challenge Bryan, Batista and Orton showed signs of resentment when they confronted Stephanie McMahon but all seemed well when the C.O.O. explained the bigger picture. However, when Triple H wanted their assistance in the No Disqualification contest, they turned and walked away to leave Daniel Bryan the opportunity to defeat The Game. Will the Evolution pair explain their actions tonight? And how will Evolution survive this mutiny in the ranks? FIND OUT ON RAW!

WILL THE “HALL OF PAIN” RE-OPEN TONIGHT?
After he made his return at Extreme Rules last night – almost leaving Daniel Bryan a broken mess for Triple H – Mark Henry returns to RAW tonight after an injury lay-off and has claimed he has some catching up to do. His intentions were clear last night; pain and destruction. All that remains to be seen is which member of the WWE roster is first to be inducted into the “Hall of Pain” as Henry’s intimidating presence casts it shadow over the WWE once more. With his actions at Extreme Rules showing sympathy towards the Authority and their message, will Henry be Stephanie McMahon’s new personal tool of destruction? Or will the former World Champion simply have pain and suffering for all on his mind? FIND OUT ON RAW!

WILL JOHN CENA BE APPEARING ON RAW TONIGHT?
Members of the Cenation were left in shock last night when Bray Wyatt did the unthinkable in his Steel Cage match with John Cena. As both men traded blows on top of one of the walls of the cage, Wyatt proved that his regard for winning is lower than his regard for destruction as he grabbed Cena and threw him off the top of the cage and through the Spanish announce table. Technically, the winner of the match was Cena; however, it was Bray Wyatt and his followers standing tall as they looked down on Cena’s mangled body amongst the remnants of the announce desk. Tonight, we expect to hear from Bray Wyatt about his actions at Extreme Rules but it is unclear, as yet, whether John Cena will appear on RAW. Whilst the WWE know that Cena was released from hospital earlier today, his status for RAW tonight must be in doubt after a 15 foot fall through the wood. Will Cena appear on RAW? Will Bray Wyatt move on to another target tonight? FIND OUT ON RAW!

WHO WILL BE THE NEXT CHALLENGER FOR THE MIZ’ UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP?
Since returning to RAW last month, The Miz has had some high points as well as some lows. The high came on RAW when Miz was the man who emerged victorious from a 6-Pack Challenge to win the United States Championship from Dean Ambrose and he followed that up with a successful retention against Ambrose on SMACKDOWN. However, when Miz appeared to believe that he was now a member of the Authority, Stephanie McMahon embarrassed him when she declared that he was not up to the mark as a potential member of their group. Tonight, a 20-man Battle Royal takes place to determine the next challenger to Miz for the title. With the likes of Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston and Ryback amongst the men competing as well as the WrestleMania 30 “Andre the Giant” Battle Royal winner, Cesaro, it promises to be a titanic tussle to determine the new challenger. Which man will emerge victorious and face Miz for the United States Championship? FIND OUT ON RAW!

** CONFIRMED FOR RAW TONIGHT **

20-man Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender for the US Championship

Announce Team
Michael Cole
Jerry “The King” Lawler
John “Bradshaw” Layfield

It’s the Monday Night RAW following the Extreme Rules PPV – and what a lot we have to address here tonight. From new Intercontinental Champions to the health and well-being of John Cena and from the breakdown of Evolution to the return of the World’s Strongest Man, Extreme Rules has left us with so many questions and highlights heading into RAW here tonight in Albany, New York. However, the main point is simple – the WWE World Heavyweight Champion remains the man who won it back at WrestleMania XXX and survived once again last night – Daniel Bryan. As the crowd celebrate his victory by chanting “Yes!” over and over, the mood is dampened by the arrival of the man who Bryan defeated to retain the title, the C.O.O. of the WWE … Triple H.

“KING OF KINGS”
TRIPLE H
C.O.O. of the WWE

As Triple H, dressed in suit and tie tonight, approaches the ring, he looks alone without Stephanie, his wife, and Batista and Orton, his Evolution team-mates. Stepping through the ropes, HHH grabs a microphone as Michael Cole hypes up the actions of Evolution last night when they walked out on Triple H during his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Daniel Bryan – seemingly in protest at HHH’s actions earlier in the evening when he scored the winning fall over The Shield to earn the title shot – and left him vulnerable to the Running Busaiku Knee of the champion who hit it to retain. What does Triple H have to say about the situation here tonight as he looks around at the WWE Universe who are chanting “Yes!” to annoy him? “I guess you all enjoyed the end of Extreme Rules?” Triple H asks with a smirk, the crowd chanting “Yes!” with renewed vigour to answer. The C.O.O. tells the WWE Universe that last night was unfortunate; Daniel Bryan’s time was up but he somehow managed to weasel out of the predicament and hit a “lucky home run” to save himself and his title. Hunter holds up his hands and accepts that he only has himself to blame, he was distracted and he gave Bryan the chance to strike. “I’ll give credit where it is due,” he tells the WWE Universe, “I may not like Daniel Bryan but he is one tough S.O.B. and he takes advantages of the smallest break in concentration.” Continuing on, Triple H reaffirms his desire to see Daniel Bryan’s “fairytale” reign as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion ended and guarantees that – at Payback in four weeks’ time – Daniel Bryan’s time as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion comes to a halt when he defends the gold in a 6 MAN CHAMPIONSHIP SCRAMBLE MATCH. Despite the odds yet again being stacked completely against the plucky champion, there is a pop in the arena for the prospect of a Championship Scramble which we’ve not seen for a while here in the WWE.

“I WALK ALONE”
BATISTA

Boos ring out around the arena as “The Animal” Batista heads out looking annoyed with things here in the WWE. As his pyro explodes on the stage, Batista’s glare fixes on the C.O.O. in the ring and he steps up the ringsteps and through the ropes with a microphone in his hand already. His music fades and Batista and Triple H stand face to face, intense looks on both, tension builds between them. JBL says that Batista should be careful, he doesn’t want to upset The Game again after his actions last night; however, Lawler suggests that it’s Triple H who needs to be careful if he doesn’t want to suffer the wrath of The Animal. It is Batista who addresses things first, he tells Hunter that after what happened last night during Evolution’s match with The Shield, after Triple H sneaked out the victory and took his shot at Daniel Bryan away from him, he’d better do the right thing here tonight. “Hunter, I am not asking you tonight. I am demanding. I am demanding that you put me in that Championship Scramble, at Payback, so that I can do what I came back to the WWE to do and beat Daniel Bryan and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.” Triple H warns Batista that he better be careful how he speaks to him, he declares that he has a few issues with the actions of Batista last night as well and he is not in the mood to take any crap from him here tonight. However, before Hunter can address the demands of Batista, there is a second interruption …

“VOICES”
RANDY ORTON

The third man involved in the Evolution controversy last night makes an appearance, “The Viper” himself in Randy Orton. Dressed in a custom RKO t-shirt, he heads to the ring shaking his head and signals for the music to fade as he reaches the ring. Stepping up the steps, Orton declares that he finds what he is hearing right now laughable. “Dave, we both have the same issues right now with him but for you to come out here and say that you are the man who deserves to beat Daniel Bryan is a joke. Can I remind you that it was YOU who tapped out to Bryan at WrestleMania in the first place and lost MY title?” Bad blood between all three members of Evolution it seems; is this the end of their alliance? As all three glare around at each other, Triple H attempts to ease things a little. “Listen Randy, Dave, we’ve all made mistakes here. Last night, I took advantage of the situation but I was intent on one thing – ending Daniel Bryan’s reign as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.” As HHH implores his two Evolution buddies to remember what is important here, he reminds them his actions meant that they also proved who were the dominant faction here in the WWE; Evolution defeated The Shield. Triple H suggests that together they are stronger, together they can vanquish the annoyance of Daniel Bryan and once it is all said and done, Batista and Orton can fight it out in the ring like men and determine who truly is the man who deserves to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He offers his hand to both men in turn and, reluctantly at first, both shake the hand of the C.O.O. “Now, back to the Championship Scramble at Payback, I can confirm that these two men right here in front of me WILL be two of the men challenging Daniel Bryan …”

* SIERRA * HOTEL * INDIGO * ECHO * LIMA * DELTA *** SHIELD *

“SPECIAL OPS”

THE SHIELD
Dean Ambrose
Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins

The crowd rise to their feet as the three men whose popularity is perhaps only eclipsed by the afore mentioned WWE World Heavyweight Champion, The Shield, make their way through the crowd towards the ring. Dressed in black and with masks covering half of their faces, Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins clamber over the barricade and stand outside the ring looking up at the three men who last night defeated them in the 6-man tag match. Allowing the tension to build, The Shield wait a moment before stepping up onto the apron and then through the ropes to face their adversaries. The music ends and we have a stand-off here tonight; Evolution facing up to The Shield once more. Triple H breaks the silence and suggests that all six of them need to hold themselves and resist the temptation to fight. He declares that whilst the Championship Scramble has three men announced in Bryan, Batista and Orton, there are three more spaces to fill. HHH looks towards the three members of Shield and suggests to them that they should get an opportunity at being in the Championship Scramble as well. Batista and Orton look surprised at this but Triple H tells them that he simply wants the title off Daniel Bryan, he doesn’t care who gets it. “So, tonight, Ambrose, Reigns, Rollins … I’m giving you your chance. Tonight, you will compete in the main event and if you win, you will get an opportunity at the Championship Scramble at Payback.” The Shield look placated by this and nod their heads whilst Triple H finishes his announcement and declares that they will compete against … Batista … and Randy Orton … in a 2 vs. 3 Handicap match. As Triple H turns and heads out of the ring, Batista and Orton complain at the announcement but it appears that HHH has just snuck in a little revenge for their actions last night; the main event is set – Batista and Orton vs. The Shield and if Shield win, they get the remaining places in the Championship Scramble. Batista and Orton, not wanting a piece of Shield right now, head out of the ring and continue to try and get the attention of The Game but he is out of here as we head into the first break of the evening.

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

When RAW returns, we see the “Bulgarian Brute” Alexander Rusev stood backstage, a snarling look on his face, with the beautiful Lana, the “Ravishing Russian” as she is known, stood beside him. Lana informs America that Alexander Rusev last night showed that Kofi Kingston was no match for him last night at Extreme Rules (on the pre-show) and that he is demanding competition here in the WWE. Lana explains that Rusev is growing impatient with these “American losers” and that wants to face men who are worthy of fighting him; “Just like the Russian military is taking over Eastern Europe, Alexander Rusev will take over the WWE,” she informs the WWE Universe and generates a fair bit of heat as the cameras switch to ringside with Cole, JBL and Lawler. Cole introduces stills from Extreme Rules and the Intercontinental Championship match between Big E, the champion, and Bad News Barrett; we see Barrett hitting the Bullhammer and making the cover to end Big E’s reign as Intercontinental Champion …

“THREE AIN’T ENOUGH”
BIG E

… but tonight, Big E is taking an immediate rematch to regain the gold he lost last night. Clapping his hands and creating a cloud of chalk dust, Big E heads for the ring looking determined to put things right from last night and looks intent on taking back the title tonight.

“REBEL SON”
BAD NEWS BARRETT
WWE Intercontinental Champion

Smirking with pride over his victory last night, Barrett heads out with the Intercontinental Championship around his waist and mocks and taunts the crowd and Big E as he approaches the ring. Into the ring steps the new four-time Intercontinental Champion and he throws his fist and shouts out “Boom!” before relinquishing the belt to the referee and the match can begin. Will Barrett be successful in defending the gold here tonight? Or will Big E be able to regain the title at the first attempt?

A successful defence of the Intercontinental Championship here tonight from Bad News Barrett and he celebrates with the title belt in the ring to a mixed response; it appears that a large portion of the crowd are delighted with his victory here tonight. As we see replays of Barrett hitting the Bullhammer, JBL hypes up the new Intercontinental Champion and suggests that there may be bad news for anybody on the WWE roster who has their sights set on being Intercontinental Champion anytime soon. Whilst Barrett’s celebration continues, Michael Cole announces that a #1 contender tournament – like the one Barrett won to win the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules – will begin tonight featuring the WWE’s finest Tag Teams with the intention of crowning new Number 1 contenders for the Tag Team Championships to face The Usos come Payback. The graphic for the tournament is shown on screen …

Quarter Finals:
Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Jinder Mahal & Heath Slater
New Age Outlaws vs. Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara
RybAxel vs. Santino Marella & Zack Ryder
Los Matadores vs. R-Truth & Xavier Woods

After the break, we will see Cody Rhodes and Goldust, the former Tag Team Champions, face off against Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater, two-third of 3MB; we will also hear an update on the condition and status of John Cena who was hurt last night at Extreme Rules.

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

When RAW returns, we see John Cena in his home in Tampa, Florida, looking badly beaten up and forlorn as he addresses the camera. “LIVE VIA SATELLITE” is emblazoned in the corner of the screen as Cena speaks about his regret at not being able to make it to Albany tonight but he says that the doctors gave him no option but to take some time off following Bray Wyatt throwing him from the top of the cage wall last night and through the Spanish announce table. “Right now, the doctors are telling me to take it day by day and see how I heel up. I’m hurt, I’m bruised and, worst of all, my ego is damaged,” Cena tells the WWE Universe before adding that he cannot put a time or date on his return – it could be next week, it could be next month, it could be next year. Cena declares that whenever he does return, there is just one intention on his mind right now – and that is righting the wrongs caused by Bray Wyatt. “Bray Wyatt is the most dangerous, psychopathic monster the WWE has ever seen,” Cena suggests, “His lack of human decency, as shown by his actions last night, prove that.” Cena tells the WWE Universe that rather than get a big victory and prove himself to the WWE Universe and the management, he decided to make an attempt to destroy everything that Cena holds dear, his career, his livelihood. As Cena becomes a little irate, he says that he will not allow Bray Wyatt and his followers to continue preaching their message here in the WWE, he will return and shut them up. “When I come back to that ring, when I come back to what I love, I will make Bray Wyatt pay for his actions by smashing my fist down his throat. Watch out, Bray Wyatt … I’m coming.”

As Cena’s fuming face fades, we see the arrival of the first of two teams competing in the tournament to determine a new #1 contender for the Tag Team Championship of The Usos, Jey and Jimmy.

“MORE THAN ONE MAN”
3MB
Jinder Mahal & Heath Slater
(w/Drew McIntyre)

Without the presence of Hornswoggle who has been around them in recent weeks, 3MB make their way out towards the ring in their usual black leather rock star attire as Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater prepare themselves for action tonight in the tournament. In the ring, they taunt the crowd by playing air guitar before their opponents make their way out into the arena.

“GOLD AND SMOKE”
THE BROTHERHOOD
Cody Rhodes & Goldust

Here come the former Tag Team Champions, the two sons of the WWE Hall of Famer, Dusty Rhodes. First off, the older brother, Goldust – aka Dustin – in his bizarre gold and black outfit followed by Cody Rhodes in his “CR” coat. In the ring, they salute the fans before the bell is rung and the tournament is underway.

An angry Goldust glares from the ring at the celebrating 3MB who are halfway back up the ramp and in a little shock at actually coming out on top here tonight. As 3MB exit, Cody holds his arms out wide and questions his brother’s actions here tonight; he is clearly heard saying “Where were you?” to Goldust who protests his innocence by explaining about McIntyre. Rhodes shakes his head in annoyance and we see another small seed of discontent growing with the partnership of the two brothers as we head into a commercial.

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

When RAW returns, we see Stephanie McMahon stood backstage texting on her cellphone. She looks up and smiles; Mark Henry ambles into the room dressed in a “Hall of Pain” t-shirt. The Principal Owner of the WWE congratulates Henry on his return last night and says that, despite the loss to Daniel Bryan, he did a perfect job to support The Authority. “Unfortunately, it seems that Batista and Randy were more interested in themselves,” she explains, “They let Triple H and myself down.” Stephanie continues on by telling the World’s Strongest Man that they may be looking for the next Face of the WWE … Henry informs Stephanie that he didn’t destroy Daniel Bryan last night because he wants to impress her and Triple H, he destroyed him because he enjoys causing destruction and pain. “It’s what I do!” he tells Stephanie who smiles. She tells Henry that, tonight, she wants to give him another opportunity to cause pain and destruction when he goes one on one, for the second consecutive night, with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Henry smirks at the prospect; “That little pipsqueak will be lucky to make it to Payback,” he tells her before he nods his head and exits looking delighted with the news that he faces Bryan once more here tonight on RAW. As he exits, Stephanie looks after him delighted – is Mark Henry on his way to impressing the hierarchy of the WWE here?

The cameras switch to another backstage area where Goldust and Cody Rhodes are embroiled in a heated discussion. Goldust is protesting to Cody that “Jinder had my leg!” but it appears that Cody is unhappy that Goldust didn’t make the save in their match before the commercial break. “We should be in the Semi Finals of that tournament!” Cody argues, “3MB are not in our league but you screwed up.” As the argument continues, Cody refers to the Battle Royal later tonight, he says that if he wants to get his hands on gold once again here in the WWE, he will do it himself tonight when he earns the right to challenge The Miz. As Cody storms off, Goldust looks exasperated as Michael Cole hypes up the forthcoming Battle Royal later tonight on RAW.

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

RAW returns with Alicia Fox, the former Divas Champion, already in the ring …

“STARS IN THE NIGHT”
PAIGE
WWE Divas Champion

With a month as the Divas Champion now under her belt, Norwich’s very own Paige heads for the ring wearing a leather jacket and holding the title belt over her shoulder. As she approaches the ring, Michael Cole reminds us of Paige’s successful title defence last night at Extreme Rules, her first since defeating AJ for the title a month ago, as she hit the Paige Turner on AJ and defeated her for the second successive time. JBL declares her as “lucky” whilst Lawler suggests that Paige is “riding the crest of a wave” as she continues with her unbeaten start here in the WWE. As Paige enters the ring, she holds her title high but Alicia eyes it enviously and talks down to the Divas Champion as their match begins …

Fox is angry with the defeat but Paige backs off up the ramp looking pleased with another victory here tonight. Still the Divas Champion, still undefeated, Cole hypes Paige’s first month in the WWE up and suggests that she is now preparing for the upcoming UK tour, in her home country of course, where she is sure to receive a hero’s welcome. The cameras switch backstage where we see Stephanie once more. However, this time, she is stood with her husband Triple H beside her and stood opposite them are the brooding figures of Batista and Randy Orton who are clearly still simmering over HHH’s actions in the past 24 hours. “It’s not revenge for last night,” protests HHH to the Evolution pair, “You’re facing The Shield tonight so you get chance to kick their ass again, a chance to prove that they do not deserve to be anywhere near the Championship Scramble at Payback.” Both Batista and Orton look sceptical though and it’s clear that trouble is still brewing for the C.O.O. “The Shield do not deserve a title shot,” growls Batista, “I came back here to the WWE with a promise of a one-on-one title match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and I still haven’t received it.” Orton picks up on the comeback, “That title is mine, Hunter. That little troll, Bryan, has MY title because Batista tapped out at WrestleMania and because you screwed us over last night.” Batista shoots an annoyed look towards Orton and Triple H goes to retort angrily but it is Stephanie who steps in and angrily shouts for the three of them to stop. She tells them that they need to get their priorities in order here, they’re losing focus on what’s important. “At Payback, Daniel Bryan will lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, that is a definite. Now, you three need to get your act together tonight, you need to make sure that The Shield stay out of the Championship Scramble match and don’t complicate matters.” Not looking convinced, Batista shakes his head and backs out whilst Orton glares at HHH; however, things do appear to have calmed … for now, at least.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW
Monday May 5, 2014
Albany, New York

(continued)

When RAW returns, at the top of the hour, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion makes his first appearance of the evening to huge cheers from the crowd.

“RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES”
DANIEL BRYAN
WWE World Heavyweight Champion
(w/Brie Bella)

Onto the stage walk the champion and his recent bride; Bryan salutes the fans immediately with the title around his waist. As he sidesteps his way towards the ring, Brie follows and Michael Cole raves about how Daniel Bryan rolled with the punches last night, survived the beating from Mark Henry and still managed to find a way to emerge from his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Triple H as the champion. Once in the ring, Bryan throws his hands up and points to the rafters to lead the “Yes!” chants which the WWE Universe are happy to indulge in. As he stands centre of the ring, he takes a microphone and addresses the WWE crowd here in Albany by declaring that despite all the obstacles that were put in front of him by Stephanie McMahon and The Authority, he is STILL here as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Shaking his head, Bryan then moves on to mentioning the fact that next, at Payback, The Authority are putting him into a 6-man Championship Scramble. He asks the WWE Universe, “Will The Authority ever learn their lesson? When will they realise that every little thing that they do to try and stop me fails?” As Bryan asks them if they believe that he will find a way to overcome the odds one more time at Payback, the crowd vociferously chant, “Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!” to show that they believe in Bryan. Referring to the fact that Batista and Orton are already confirmed for Payback, Bryan declares them as perennial failures and asks how many opportunities they need before The Authority realise that they cannot get the job done. Bryan tells the WWE Universe, “At Payback, once more, I’m facing Batista and Randy Orton and, to be honest, beating them is getting a little boring. So, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, at Payback, I beg you. Find me somebody new to challenge me. Find me somebody other than your two Evolution losers that I can face and …”

“SOMEBODIES GONNA’ GET THEIR ASS KICKED”
MARK HENRY

A hush falls over the crowd as the foreboding presence of Mark Henry, the World’s Strongest Man, appears on the stage. As he slowly moves down the ramp, Henry looks menacingly at Bryan and appears to have taken offence to the comments of Bryan. As he steps through the ropes, Bryan ushers Brie out of the ring worried that something could happen here but Henry simply heads over and takes a microphone. Once he has the microphone and his music fades, Henry glares at Bryan and has short, simple words of advice: “Tonight, I’m going to destroy you once again, I’m gonna’ beat you all over this arena. And when I’m finished with you, I’m sure Stephanie and Hunter will realise what the whole world knows. I am the man who will take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Payback.” Finishing his comment, Henry throws down the microphone and exits the ring to leave Bryan looking on with a look of concern on his face. Tonight, later on RAW, it will be Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan and it appears that the World’s Strongest Man has intentions of defeating Bryan here tonight and earning himself a place in the Championship Scramble at Payback.

CHRIS JERICHO
RETURNS TO RAW
Monday May 19
2 WEEKS

After the vignette advertising the return of Y2J Chris Jericho in two weeks’ time, we see that the ring is filling up with WWE superstars and the graphic on screen shows that it is time for the Battle Royal for the right to become the #1 contender for the United States Championship of The Miz. Already in the ring are Rob Van Dam, Brodus Clay, Zack Ryder, Santino Marella, Damien Sandow, Fandango, Jack Swagger, the New Age Outlaws Billy Gunn and Road Dogg, Christian, Justin Gabriel and Titus O’Neil.

“S.O.S.”
KOFI KINGSTON

The Ghanaian superstar bounds out ready for action here tonight after his loss last night on the Extreme Rules pre-show; despite a valiant effort, Kofi was unable to halt the Bulgarian Brute Alexander Rusev but is hoping to take a step closer towards the United States Championship here tonight …

“MEAT ON THE TABLE / PERFECTION (REMIX)”
RYBAXEL
Curtis Axel
Ryback

After they failed to win the Tag Team Championships from The Usos last night, out come RybAxel looking determined here tonight. Will they participate as a team here tonight in the Battle Royal or will they go their own individual route in the match?

“GOLD AND SMOKE”
THE BROTHERHOOD
Cody Rhodes
Goldust

For the second time this evening, The Brotherhood head out but this time there is a frosty atmosphere between the pair of them after their defeat in the Quarter Finals of the Tag Team #1 contenders tournament earlier tonight. With Rhodes blaming Goldust for the defeat, he strides in front of his older brother and looks determined to prove something here tonight.

“THREE AIN’T ENOUGH”
BIG E

A surprise here as the man who lost his Intercontinental Championship last night at Extreme Rules to Bad News Barrett and failed to regain it earlier tonight on RAW, Big E, heads out to the ring and looks to be intending to win the United States Championship instead.

“CRANK IT UP”
BIG SHOW

The 7-foot, 400 pound Giant heads out and the whole situation changes; what a challenge this will be for the rest of the WWE to eliminate him? As he approaches the ring, clips from Extreme Rules when he made a challenge of sorts to The Miz backstage are shown and Cole says that Miz will be unable to run if Show wins the Battle Royal here tonight.

“SUPERHUMAN”
CESARO
(w/Paul Heyman)

Here comes the man who just a month ago won the biggest Battle Royal in recent WWE history – the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal – when he eliminated Big Show at WrestleMania 30, Cesaro. Accompanied by the annoying presence of Paul Heyman, Cesaro hits the ring looking psyched up and ready for another Battle Royal win here tonight to push him into an opportunity to be the United States Champion once again …

“(AWESOME) I CAME TO PLAY”
THE MIZ
WWE United States Champion

As the referee prepares to ring the bell, the United States Champion himself heads out dressed in a smart suit and tie and with the United States Championship over his shoulder. As he approaches the ring, Big Show mockingly waves at him but Miz looks less than impressed as he sidles around to the announce table. As Miz gets comfortable and declares to Cole, JBL and Lawler that he is out here to watch his prospective challengers, the referee rings the bell and off we go.

Big, big win for Big Show – no pun intended – as he takes some form of revenge over Cesaro by eliminating him here tonight and exercising the memory of WrestleMania 30. Heyman and Cesaro back off up the ramp looking unimpressed with the events here tonight but the decision has been rendered – Big Show has won the Battle Royal and will face The Miz sometime in the future with the United States Championship on the line. On the announce desk, Miz stands tall and raises the title belt whilst Big Show grins at him. After their confrontation last night, it appears that Show now has his former Tag Team Championship partner trapped. Who will emerge victorious when these two stars meet down the line?

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

Once RAW returns, Renee Young introduces the “King of Swing” Cesaro and his manager, Paul Heyman. However, they are not prepared to wait to speak and Heyman begins to run down what just happened out there in the ring as Big Show won the Battle Royal and earned the chance to face The Miz for the US Championship. He slams the Big Show as being past his peak and says that the fact that Big Show, with over twenty years’ experience in the business, continues to get title opportunities is an embarrassment to the WWE. “Come on, Renee,” asks Paul, “How many times do we need to watch this big loser fail?” Heyman declares that his client, Cesaro, is destined for the top and has his whole career ahead of him and, despite the fact he wrestled a gruelling 20-minute Street Fight with Jack Swagger last night, he still went toe to toe with Show and almost emerged victorious. “Good luck, Big Show,” Heyman smirks, “You’re going to need it.” As Heyman cryptically ends the interview, JBL suggests that Heyman is the master manipulator and can get in the head of superstars; Lawler says he is simply a walrus who needs knocking out cold.

“BROKEN OUT IN LOVE”
THE WYATT FAMILY
Bray Wyatt
Erick Rowan
Luke Harper

Darkness descends on the arena as the eerie entrance of Bray Wyatt and his followers begins. As the audience claps along in time, Wyatt approaches the ring and in the faint lights from the audience, we see he is smirking and chuckling. Once they arrive at the foot of the ring, the lights return and we see Bray sat in the rocking chair with Rowan and Harper flanking it. Holding a microphone, Bray begins to laugh almost uncontrollably, something has tickled him here tonight and it seems that it’s pretty clear what it is. Wyatt simply tells the WWE Universe that “I told you what would happen!” before continuing with his maniacal laughing. Once he calms a little and begins to speak, he tells the world that last night at Extreme Rules, he finally accomplished his goal for the past couple of months and eliminated the liar that is John Cena. As Wyatt speaks, still images of Cena being thrown from the top of the cage wall through the announce desk are shown, he tells the world that John Cena is a liar and that his supposedly noble words are empty of meaning. Wyatt again refers to Cena’s inner monster and how he revealed it to the world; but now the world has seen his inner monster too. “I am not here for titles and victories, I am here to look after all of you and protect you from them, protect you from the liars and the cheats.” Wyatt tells the WWE Universe that his actions last night at Extreme Rules were for their own good and that one day they would thank their Uncle Bray for protecting them and showing the children who were part of the Cenation that he was nothing more than a fraud. “your hero John Cena was willing to throw me from the top of that cage, your hero John Cena was going to reveal that hidden monster to the world and show how little his words of ‘Hustle, Loyalty, Respect’ actually mean to him. I just got there first, man.” As Wyatt kneels down in the centre of the ring, he says that the children of the WWE Universe need not worry for Uncle Bray will guide the way and shine the light for them. If Cena is stupid enough to return, he will get rid of him again. Systematically, Bray promises, he will rid the WWE of every single one of the liars until there are none left. As Wyatt begins to sing, slowly, He’s got the whole world in his hands, there is a stunned silence in the arena; nobody really knows what to make of this Bray Wyatt character. All that we know is that he has destroyed John Cena …

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

RAW returns with Tyson Kidd in the ring and waiting …

“RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW”
TYSON KIDD

As Kidd’s music fades, the arrival of the seductive Lana is signalled …

“ATTENTION!”
LANA

Dressed in black suit, Lana tells the WWE Universe that last night at Extreme Rules, Kofi Kingston was shown to be just one more “American loser” here in the WWE and that she hoped tonight would see a bigger challenge for her client. Declaring that she believed the competition here in the WWE would be the best in the world, she fixes a glare at Tyson Kidd in the ring and says that she is disappointed once more tonight. However, she introduces her client regardless …

“ROAR OF THE LION”
ALEXANDER RUSEV
(w/Lana)

Striding out into the arena, Rusev’s look of focus is again scary in its intensity here as he approaches the ring with the smiling valet, Lana. The Bulgarian Brute’s highlights from last night at Extreme Rules on the pre-show are shown as he defeated Kofi Kingston, a former United States, Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion on multiple occasions, with relative ease. JBL suggests that Rusev is the scariest monster to hit the WWE since the arrival of Yokozuna in 1993 and Kidd has an immense problem to deal with here tonight.

As Kidd rolls out of the ring, Rusev and Lana come together in the ring and she pats her monster on the elbow as he glares out at Kidd. With another impressive victory under his belt, JBL questions just who will be able to stop the Bulgarian Brute and how they will go about it? Lana calls out that Rusev wants competition here in the WWE and they celebrate the win as the undefeated streak continues …

Backstage, Renee Young introduces the United States Champion, The Miz. She asks him for his opinion on Big Show winning the Battle Royal and earning the right to challenge for his United States Championship after he refused the challenge from the same man last night at Extreme Rules. Miz snorts in disgust, he says he never refused Big Show, he simply walked away as he did not have him wrestling attire and was unable to compete. Miz laughs before recalling their time as Tag Team Champions back in 2010 and suggests that he was always carrying Show, he was the one who did the work and come their United States Championship match, he will prove that he is the better man. “I’ve heard people suggesting that I am scared of the Big Show, Renee, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. When Big Show and I compete, I can guarantee you that I will come out victorious because I am the most must-see United States Champion of all time.” As Miz winds up for his “Awesome!” finish though, Big Show, laughing and smiling, appears behind the United States Championship and shouts “AWFUL!” to spoil Miz’ catchphrase line. Jumping with fear, Miz scuttles out of the shot and disappears leaving Show to watch him leave with a smirk again. “He’s not scared of me, Renee,” winks Big Show before exiting and leaving Renee to smile.

Elsewhere, Josh Mathews has caught up with the WWE Divas Champion Paige as she looks to leave the arena. With the Divas Championship belt over her shoulder, she tells Mathews that her whirlwind first month in the WWE has come to an end and she could not be happier. “I’ve won the Divas Championship, I’m undefeated and I’m looking forward to touring the UK with the WWE next week. Life couldn’t get any better right now!” As she gets into the car and it drives away though, we see, in the shadows of a large backstage crate, the scowling face of the former Divas Champion, AJ Lee. She shakes her head before the camera switches to the next commercial.

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

“LA VITTORIA E MIA”
SANTINO MARELLA
(w/Emma)

RAW returns with the WWE’s odd couple entering the ring and “entertaining” the crowd. However, the enjoyable antics of the pair of them come to a halt with the arrival of Paul Heyman on stage. He says that the WWE must have a vendetta against his client here tonight – after a “Real American” Street Fight last night at Extreme Rules and a Battle Royal already tonight, he now has to come out here and face Santino as well? However, Heyman declares that his client is angry and is looking to take out his problems on somebody. “Bad timing, Santino,” Heyman smirks before introducing the “King of Swing” … Cesaro!

“SUPERHUMAN”
CESARO
(w/Paul Heyman)

Out to the ring comes Cesaro for the second time this evening but he is scowling a little more this time as he prepares to face Santino Marella one on one after his losing effort earlier in the Battle Royal. Glaring across the ring at the Italian, Cesaro looks like he is desperate for the bell and wants to get his hands on Santino to take out his frustrations in the “Battle of Europe!” – according to JBL – here tonight.

An annoyed look remains on the face of Cesaro but he has a win on the board here tonight after his failure to win the Battle Royal earlier in the evening. Heyman hits the ring and congratulates his client before the cameras switch backstage to Renee Young again, this time she has the WWE World Heavyweight Champion with her in Daniel Bryan and he is accompanied by Brie Bella. She asks Bryan about whether he believes his match with Mark Henry tonight will be tougher than last night with Henry looking to impress. Bryan answers that he expects Henry to go all out tonight; he is going to want to impress Stephanie and Triple H and get himself a spot in the Championship Scramble come Payback. However, Bryan believes that this could be an advantage for him as he has less pressure tonight and can focus on the match rather than what Stephanie might say come the end of it. “The fact is, Renee, I am the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and I expect to be chased. Evolution want my title, The Shield want my title, it appears Mark Henry wants my title. Am I going to complain about that? No. I’ve worked my ass off to win this title and I know what it means to hold it. It’s the greatest feeling in the world but it also means I have the target on my back. Tonight, I prove to Mark Henry, again, that taking me down will be no easy task.” With that, Bryan and Brie exit and RAW heads to commercial with Cole informing us that Bryan vs. Henry is coming next!

(continued)

“SOMEBODIES GONNA’ GET THEIR ASS KICKED”
MARK HENRY

After missing two months with injuries, Mark Henry heads out with an ominously determined look in his eyes; he is clearly focused on defeating Bryan tonight and earning himself a place in the Championship Scramble at Payback. Despite the loss he suffered last night, the damage Henry caused to Bryan almost cost the WWE World Heavyweight Champion his gold against Triple H and he looks intent on getting another big win here.

“RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES”
DANIEL BRYAN
WWE World Heavyweight Champion
(w/Brie Bella)

To another big pop, Daniel Bryan makes his entrance with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder and Brie Bella on his arm. As the crowd chant “Yes!” to him, Bryan heads for the ring and salutes the fans but quickly focuses on his opponent; the hulking figure of Mark Henry presents a formidable opponent for Bryan here tonight. Can Bryan overcome the World’s Strongest Man once more? Or can Henry get a huge win over the Champion and force his way into the Championship Scramble?

As the referee signals for the bell, Brie stands looking shocked as Henry turns to face her with a look of rage in his eyes. She drops the chair and fear spreads across her face as she looks into the eyes of the monster; the referee tries to protect her but Henry shoves him aside and advances on her. Grabbing her hair, Henry pulls her towards him but Daniel Bryan recovers a little and drags him off his wife and launches a series of kicks to his shoulder and ribs. As Brie exits the ring, Bryan backs off to the corner and the crowd chant “Yes!” as he builds up … but he misses with the Busaiku Knee attempt and Henry clotheslines him before heading out of the ring and stalking Brie once more. As he follows her up the ramp, Brie is scared to death but her fears turn into a nightmare when Stephanie McMahon heads out and grabs her. Brie tries to run but Stephanie shoves her violently to the floor beside Henry’s feet and she looks him in the eye and nods her head. A cheer from the crowd precedes the attack from Bryan who is desperate to protect his wife and he barrages into Henry from the back and then yells at Brie to “Get out of here!” – the momentary hesitation is enough though and Henry takes advantage with a running forearm. Onto the stage they head and Bryan is sent head first into the screens twice by Henry before he scoops him up … WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM! ON THE STEEL STAGE FLOOR! Stephanie loves it and she applauds as Henry stands over the fallen WWE World Heavyweight Champion before demanding he does it again. The crowd jeer and boo as Henry drags Bryan up again … SECOND WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM! As Henry and Stephanie taunt the crowd, a concerned Brie heads to her husband as he rolls off the stage and she tries to tend to him. Big mistake from Brie! Henry grabs her by the hair again and drags her to the ramp where he holds her arms by her side … Stephanie pulls back and launches a series of slaps to the face of Brie Bella. As she connects over and over, she screams at her, “This is for your husband, Brie! This is for every single disrespectful comment he’s made!” As Stephanie and Henry make their way out of the arena to a chorus of boos, it appears that Brie and Bryan are severely hurt …

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

Footage of Daniel Bryan being loaded into an ambulance is shown with Brie Bella, holding her face but not seriously hurt, is accompanying him. Doctors are speaking in rushed voices as Bryan is helped out of the arena, it seems Mark Henry has done another “good” job for the Authority here tonight. As the ambulance leaves, Mark Henry is shown watching and s******ing as Stephanie moves up behind him and pats him on the shoulder. Will this mean a place for Henry in the Championship Scramble?

Meanwhile, back in the ring, Brodus Clay has made his way out …

“AIN’T NO PARTY”
BRODUS CLAY

Footage of the earlier problems between Brodus and RVD are shown; during the Battle Royal, RVD eliminated Clay but then, as words were exchanged between them, Cody Rhodes and Ryback surprised RVD and attempted to eliminate him. However, it was the interference of Clay as he pulled the ropes down that was the determining factor and RVD was eliminated. As the cameras return to the ring, Brodus is smirking apparently pleased with himself.

“ONE OF A KIND”
ROB VAN DAM

Fired up by the earlier events, RVD wastes no time getting to the ring and he goes straight to work on the attack. With no salute for the fans from RVD, the referee rings the bell and we are underway …

Solid victory for RVD and he salutes the fans now as they cheer. However, whilst Brodus shuffles away, the lights go out and …

When the lights return, Harper and Rowan are stood behind RVD as he stares out at Bray Wyatt who is sat in the rocking chair. Realising that Rowan and Harper must be behind him, RVD turns and fights but the numbers game is too much for him in the end as the two followers of Bray Wyatt manage to beat the ECW legend down to the mat. Laughing out loud once more, Bray steps into the ring now and drags RVD up … SISTER ABIGAIL! Why have the Wyatt Family targeted Rob Van Dam here tonight on RAW? As that question hangs in the air, RAW heads into another commercial with a smiling Bray Wyatt dropping to his knees beside RVD … “Follow the Buzzards!”

** COMMERCIAL BREAK **

RAW returns with Renee Young backstage with the new Intercontinental Champion; a grinning, delighted Bad News Barrett. Renee asks Barrett for his thoughts on capturing the title last night at Extreme Rules and now retaining it in his first defence tonight, both times defeating Big E. Barrett says that he has been back in the ring in the WWE now for over a month and he now feels as good as ever; this Intercontinental Championship is proof that his career is on an upward curve and he intends to be the Champion for a while yet. With the UK tour coming up in the next couple of weeks, Barrett declares that he is “afraid I’ve got some bad news for you!” Declaring that he is returning home to the UK, he suggests that he may decide to stay home and live in a civilised country where he will be appreciated and respected by his fellow countrymen. However, Barrett then has second thoughts and says that he is not willing to do that whilst he remains the Intercontinental Champion. He says that the bad news is for all the other WWE superstars who either want to try and take his title away … or those that think that they can stop him taking their titles from them. Bad News Barrett claims that he cannot be stopped and when the Bullhammer strikes, the picture can change in an instant. Smug and arrogant, Barrett walks away with a definite warning there for the other champions in the WWE. Could that mean that Barrett’s eyes, in the future, are set on Daniel Bryan’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship?

Back in the ring, it is main event time and a replay is shown of the opening segment of the show when Triple H was confronted by Batista, Randy Orton and The Shield. Following his announcement of the Championship Scramble match for Payback and the fact that The Animal and The Viper would be included, HHH also declared that The Shield would be in action here tonight in the main event – a 2 vs. 3 Handicap match as they face off against Batista and Orton. Victory for The Shield will give them an opportunity at the Championship Scramble – but will they be able to overcome two-thirds of Evolution here tonight and earn their spot?

“I WALK ALONE”
BATISTA

Dressed in his wrestling trunks, Batista heads out with a frown on his face as he contemplates the situation Orton and himself have been placed in here tonight. Although HHH tried to ease the tension between Evolution earlier tonight, things don’t appear completely resolved and Batista’s obvious anger remains. As he signals for his pyro, The Animal defiantly heads for the ring and ignores the jeers from the WWE Universe …

“VOICES”
RANDY ORTON

The man who lost his WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Daniel Bryan a month ago at WrestleMania, The Viper, heads out into the arena with a similar look of anger permeating through his eyes. With places confirmed in the Championship Scramble, Batista and Orton are both looking to deny Shield their spots and JBL suggests that Batista and Orton need to find a way to eliminate the threat of Shield here tonight. However, Lawler declares that Triple H doesn’t believe they can deny The Shield but saw his opportunity to inflict some “hidden” revenge on his two Evolution team-mates here tonight and took it.

* SIERRA * HOTEL * INDIGO * ECHO * LIMA * DELTA *** SHIELD *

“SPECIAL OPS”

THE SHIELD
Dean Ambrose
Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins

Big reaction for Shield as they head through the crowds dressed all in black as usual. They look pumped up and ready and with Payback less than four weeks away now, this could prove to be a pivotal night in the history of The Shield. As they enter the ring, they glare across at Batista and Orton, two guys who technically beat them last night even if they weren’t happy with the way it happened, this is going to be a great main event here tonight to end RAW.

Huge victory here tonight for The Shield and they secure their spots in the Championship Scramble at Payback. As Michael Cole hypes up the Payback main event – Daniel Bryan, Batista, Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns fighting it out for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship – JBL declares that he expects a member of The Shield to walk out of Payback with the gold around their waist. But which one will it be?

“KING OF KINGS”
TRIPLE H
C.O.O. of the WWE

The mood is dampened as The Shield’s music cuts short and the C.O.O. of the WWE heads out instead. He carries a microphone and stands on the stage to address the three Shield members who are still in the ring. “Congratulations, gentlemen,” begins Hunter, “You have been successful here tonight and have earned your shot at the Championship Scramble at Payback.” A strange smirk appears on the face of The Game though; “However, let me clear up a misunderstanding or two – earlier tonight, I never told you that all three members of The Shield would get to enter the Championship Scramble. Rewind the tape if you don’t believe me. I told you you’d get an opportunity and so you shall.” Boos ring out around the arena whilst Batista, for the first time tonight, smirks a little as he walks up the ramp and joins HHH. “Next week on RAW, one member of The Shield will be officially entered into the Payback WWE World Heavyweight Championship Scramble … and that man will be determined in the main event when we are going to have ourselves a little Triple Threat …

It will be Dean Ambrose …

… against Roman Reigns …

… against Seth Rollins. Good luck, guys.”
As Hunter throws away the microphone, the three men in the ring, Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins, look stunned. Next week, they meet each other in a Triple Threat match and one of them, just one of them, will earn the right to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. What a huge announcement from Triple H to end this week’s Monday Night RAW!

** END OF SHOW **

WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION LOOKING FOR REVENGE!
After defeat, albeit via a DQ, on RAW this past Monday, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has demanded a rematch tonight on SMACKDOWN as he faces off against The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry, once again. With The Authority seemingly only too pleased to accept Bryan’s demands, what does Henry have in store for Bryan here tonight on SMACKDOWN? Will he earn himself another impressive victory and further push himself into contention for the Championship Scramble at Payback? Or will the Champion show what he is made of and earn revenge on Henry here tonight?

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP UNDER “BIG” THREAT?
On RAW this previous Monday, a new #1 contender was determined when Big Show exercised his Battle Royal WrestleMania demons by eliminating Cesaro to earn a shot at The Miz’ US Championship, a match that has now been arranged for this coming Monday on RAW. With that in mind, the United States Champion is in action here tonight when he faces off against the Punjabi Playboy, Great Khali. Just three days from his defence of the title, has Miz bitten off more than he can chew by facing Khali here on SMACKDOWN?

SIBLING RIVALRY DEVELOPING?
For the past couple of weeks, there have been rumblings in the Brotherhood as the former Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes and Goldust, begin to show signs of falling apart. After defeat in the Tag Team Championship #1 contenders tournament against 3MB, Rhodes blamed Goldust and vowed to prove he could work “alone” in the Battle Royal. Despite not winning the right to challenge for the US Championship, both men impressed but the quest for the title led to Cody attempting to eliminate his brother. After Ryback took advantage and eliminated both of them, more arguments ensued and the existence of the partnership is beginning to look fragile. Tonight, Cody Rhodes faces another up and coming star when he takes on the “King of Swing” Cesaro – with Goldust in his corner. Can they put their problems behind them tonight?

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT CONTINUES …
After Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater overcame the Rhodes Brothers on RAW and booked their Semi Final place, tonight’s tournament match features the experienced New Age Outlaws, 6 times Tag Team Champions, going up against the popular Mexican duo of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. Will Road Dogg and Billy Gunn prove that they still have the ability to earn a seventh run as Tag Team Champions? Or will the Masked Mexicans take a step closer to their first Tag Team Championship reign together?

SHEAMUS RETURNS TO ACTION TONIGHT!
After missing a couple of weeks through injury, the Celtic Warrior Sheamus is set to return tonight as he goes up against the Ballroom Dancing superstar, Fandango. With his reigns as WWE or World Champion becoming a fading memory, Sheamus is determined to get back into contention and there appears to be one or two spots available in the Championship Scramble at Payback. Could Sheamus impress and get himself into WWE World Heavyweight Championship contention? Or will Fandango show that he is the one who should be challenging the best in the business?

** CONFIRMED FOR SMACKDOWN TONIGHT **

Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman) vs. Cody Rhodes
Fandango (w/Layla) vs. Sheamus
Great Khali vs. The Miz
New Age Outlaws vs. Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara

** RESULTS **

DAMIEN SANDOW vs. XAVIER WOODS
After his defeat to Big Show in the Extreme Rules pre-show on the WWE Network, Damien Sandow returns to action with victory over youngster Xavier Woods. Sandow, in a foul mood, hit “You’re Welcome” to get the 3 count at 4:47 before grabbing the microphone and declaring that he would not stand for being disrespected ever again.

RYBAXEL vs. THE USOS (non-title)
After their Tag Team Championship match at Extreme Rules, these two teams locked horns once again as RybAxel attempted to defeat the Tag Team Champions and put themselves back on track with their upcoming tournament match with Zack Ryder and Santino Marella set for RAW next week. However, the gutsy Tag Team Champions managed to hit the Superkick-Superfly Splash combination and picked up another big win at 7:39.

MAIN EVENT: ALEXANDER RUSEV (w/Lana) vs. GREAT KHALI
After earlier demanding greater competition for the Bulgarian Brute, Lana appeared to have put her foot well in it when Rusev was given the chance to face the Punjabi Playboy, Great Khali, in the main event. Despite the size of the two men in the ring, we got a decent match as Khali came as close as anybody has to finding a way to defeat Rusev. However, after Khali’s Punjabi Plunge failed to get the job done, Rusev rallied and locked in The Accolade and forced Khali to tap out at 5:43. What will it take to stop this monster here in the WWE?

Hi GCB!

I got some Sweet Tea in my cup and it is about time I get my ass in gear and give a much deserved review. Let's dance, shall we?

Bearded Review

-I'll go match by match and provide insights as necessary. Looking forward to this.

Pre-Show
-I respect the hell out of Big Show. He seems like a genuinely great dude, however I wish he remained off television. Predictable win here, glad to see Sandow got in the majority of the offense. Hope to see him get some wins here. He could've gone places after his cash in loss, but they dropped the ball there.

-Speaking of another guy I'm not into, Alexander Rusev. I do like Lana though, she's a looker. I'm glad this wasn't a squash like we've been seeing from Rusev. Kofi hung around and nearly won. You showed Rusev could be beat, but not quite yet. I hope we see him develop some sort of feud in the coming weeks. And Kofi, I hope you spring up a run like you did in your previous BT.

-I did enjoy that you made this like the actual Pre-Show and didn't just put out the matches. Little things like that can go along way. The promos were well written, especially Cena's. His felt legitimate and you could feel the emotion that Cena brings.

Evolution vs. The Shield
-First off, I love the fact the winner of this goes into a match with Bryan later tonight. I would've much rather seen this than the match with Kane. Kudos on the booking move there, so many potential options.

-Well written match and you kept me hooked with the back and forth action. Not that I expected any different from you. Really glad you didn't tease a Shield breakup. There was that slight hiccup with the pinning, but nothing that needed focus on.

-Right move with Evolution winning, specifically Triple H. I love Shield, but I think it is too soon to throw one of them into a singles match for the WWE WHC. Plus Evolution winning fits the storyline for Bryan more.

Intercontinental Championship
-Standard promo from Big E. He is a guy in real life that I'm beginning to lose interest in. I like the dude as he is an unique talent. I just wish they let him talk more and hopefully you can utilize him better. I hope to see Big E get some mic work, as I feel he brings an uniqueness both in the ring and on stick.

-As I continue reading I realize I love your match format. It's simple, different, and very easy on the eyes. Props there.

-Barrett is the right move on the win. Nothing spectacular match wise, but it got the job done and told a nice story. Barrett had the build and having him lose would've hurt his value. I do look forward to seeing where the road leads for both superstars.

Backstage Stuff
-You have Steph down to a T. Excellent. Really enjoyed the back and forth with her, Orton, and Butthole, err Batista.

-Miz is a guy lost in the shuffle currently and I imagine with him being US Champ, that is your way of getting him back into the swing of things. Looks like a ShowMiz feud could be in the works. Not sure how I feel about that, but Miz potentially going over Show would be a nice way to build him back up.

Real American Street Fight
-Unique rules. Sounds very similar to the Falls Count Anywhere match at WrestleMania X between Savage and Crush. Nicely written promos pre-match for Heyman and Zeb.

-Brutal sounding match with both guys looking strong. Glad to see each guy getting a fall here and Cesaro is the right man to go over. The future is bright for the Swissman. Can't wait to see what it holds.

-Post match promo between BNB and Big E gives us something to look forward to on Raw. Something that is missing from the current product. They don't always give us a reason to tune in the next night/week.

Tag Team Championship
-I'm a big fan of RybAxel. Yes I said it. Ryback humors me and Curtis Axel has always been a guy I was fond of (dating back to the McGillicutty days).

-Standard tag team match with The Usos going over. No complaints or comments really. Hopefully we see a buildup of opponents coming their way. It seems when the division starts looking strong, WWE tears it down. Usos have huge potential to be a great team, let's make it work big guy.

-That Jericho video was awesome. Did you make it? And that sounded like a Fozzy song, even cooler. Look forward to what you have in store for Jericho. Glad you went a different way than a surprise return or a series of vignettes to keep us guessing.

-While you have Steph down to a T, she has been focused on pretty heavily tonight. It's a bit off putting, but such is life.

Steel Cage Match
-Awesome little video package summary. This feud has been absolutely spectacular and I'm interested in where you take it.

-The match was absolutely amazing. That ending, phenomenal. I'm kind of jealous I didn't think of it haha. Going in I would've been upset had Wyatt not won, but this is the perfect scenario for him losing. Wyatt looks like a madman and now the question remains when/how does Cena bounce back. Very interested.

Divas Championship
-Love the added addition of AJ to the match to spice it up some. Again, your format is delightful. Nice change of pace using pink for the divas.

-Nothing to really add to the divas match. The right person won and finally the AJ/Tamina partnership comes to a close.

DB pt. 1/WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
-Good to see Henry back as a heel, that is where he is best. Face Henry is the pits. I don't know how I feel about the decision to put Bryan in a match. It makes sense and fits the motives of the Authority, but I figured you'd step away from that a little.

-A nice match otherwise with Bryan taking a beating and sort of "evening the odds" so to say with both him and Trips having matches tonight. Not big on the decision of that, but let's get to the main event.

-Orton, Batista, Steph, and Armstrong? This is sounding like WrestleMania all over except that it is a 1 on 1 match. At least Orton and Butthole left the match, causing more friction between Evolution. I did enjoy the match. Well written (per usual) and very visual. Though did we rebuild the Spanish announce table just to break it again haha. Bryan going over was a no brainer. Looking forward to where he goes as well as Evolution. Definitely interested in seeing if you keep Hunter around as a wrestler or ease him back into an authority figure.

Overall
-Excellent show. From top to bottom the matches delivered. Other than some minor things that I mentioned, wouldn't have changed a thing. You continue to prove that you are a class act around these parts and the best BT poster the site has seen bar none.

-The show opened up a lot of doors and I'm most certainly interested in where things are heading. You set yourself up nicely for the coming weeks. Well done my friend.

Cheer, dude. Always good to hear from you.

I do agree with a lot of what you said there, you figured a lot of what I was intending to put into that show so I must be doing OK with my viewpoint coming clear. I've learnt from BT over the years that every match can't be stellar - Vengeance in GCB's WWE I extended to 4-hours long because I was doing too much - but every match can/has to mean something to somebody. That was my aim here. Some of the action was to tie up loose ends and set up for further down the track whereas other things were for here and now.

I hear you about Big Show; he's a guy I never quite got right in GCB's WWE and I guess I wanna try something one last time. It's hard to find an original angle with him as most things have been done with him to be honest. He's heading into a little feud with Miz but right now, I don't plan that to be a PPV feud - TV only unless it catches fire. As for Miz, yep, easing him back in with the US Championship to make him semi-relevant again. I think there is potential for a good heel in there so let's see what I can do. He needs building for sure but so do a lot of guys.

Rusev - yeah. It's like Ryback v2 or Goldberg v3. My intention is to use Lana to make him different and not to have him completely mow down guys I want to use; it makes them look weak and does nothing for him long term. He needs a feud - I think I have one coming for him. Patience is key here though. As for Kofi, this is a very different beast to the one I had in GCB's WWE. Kofi was upper-mid and hadn't gone stale when I used him there; I'm not sure Kofi is anywhere near the same starting spot here. There's also an element of "done that" with him and, as I said before in GCB's WWE, I'm not actually that big a fan of the guy. He's not in any danger of me jobbing him out or firing him but I'm not sure I see him doing anything near what he did in GCB's WWE. There is one possible idea I'm toying with using him for but not sure as yet.

I might split The Shield; I don't particularly like the "face" version of them. It's a bit over-done in BT/BTB world though - Edge vs. Christian for 2014 - so I intend to make it different IF I do.

We sound like we do have similar thoughts about a lot of guys on the roster - I'm the same with Big E. With the build Barrett had, I couldn't really have Big E win that one but I do like the guy. He desperately needs something new though to make him catch fire again. His IC run was a complete waste of time after it started so well.

I didn't make the Jericho video; just a YouTube search. I didn't want to over-do things with Y2J, I just wanted to bring him back this time.

When I wrote the quick result list at the end, I thought to myself that if anybody reads John Cena defeats Bray Wyatt without reading the match, they'd be unimpressed. The ending was key for what I wanted to show. Bray Wyatt isn't concerned about wins and losses and, for now, titles. He's concerned with his message. Getting him involved in any kind of title picture right now would be an immense mistake - here and IRL - he's just causing destruction and that's his deal.

Missed the rebuilding of the Spanish announce table. Never even thought of that! Bugger!

Felt like Bryan needed the match with Henry as it wouldn't be very "babyface" to take advantage of a tired opponent. Having him go through the mill swung it towards HHH and then had Bryan fight from underneath to retain the title. I also felt it would emphasise the fact that Batista/Orton cost HHH the chance to be champion more. As for HHH, going forward, I'm planning to use him as a mix for now. Maybe make the switch back to C.O.O. full time round Summerslam. The main event roster is a little weak right now so I think the name of HHH helps in there while I build a few ideas and things.

As ever, I have a big idea in mind. I'm working towards something that I think will blast this apart from the traditional WWE show. However, a mistake a lot of shows make is putting the big idea into motion in the first PPV or first TV show in some cases. You need time to subtly build things. It could be Payback, it could be Money in the Bank, it could be Summerslam but something big is coming. I'm already putting the blocks in place like I did with Miz/Taker in GCB's WWE; hopefully this time, when I strike, one of the main people involved won't have become completely irrelevant IRL like Miz did.

Cheers for the thoughts fella.
