WWE: Launching a New Era
After what is considered by many one of the most jaw-dropping, exciting WWE Pay Per Views of all time, where CM Punk walked out of the All State Arena in Chicago and indeed walked out on the WWE itself the WWE Champion. Many are claiming this is the beginning of a new era in WWE if the company plays their cards right.

5 POINT RAW PREVIEW

wwe_default.jpg

From WWE.com
-Vince McMahon has announced that he will address the WWE Championship situation to kick off Monday Night Raw.

-What now for the New Nexus? Leaderless, losing members fast and a shock non-title loss last night at Money In The Bank, they have been pitted against the same pairing that defeated them last night; Santino Marella and Vladimir Koslov. A loss tonight will surely spell the end of the New Nexus, making tonight a make or break night for the group on Raw.

-Del Rio out: The man who made history last night when becoming the first man ever to win Money in the Bank and The Royal Rumble in the same year didn’t win without a price. Del Rio alledgedly picked up a knock in last nights brutal match and hasn’t been medically cleared for tonights Raw. Although there is no firm evidence, it would seem the injury is only minor and will only cause him to miss one week of Raw.

-Kelly Kelly on a roll: Double K has been on one hell of a roll since winning the Diva’s Title off Brie Bella around 1 month ago. Yet another win last night, retaining her Title again. Can anyone step up tonight and challenge KK? She and Eve team up once again to take on Beth Phoenix and Melina in what should be a great bout.

-Also in action tonight will be: John Morrison, The Miz, R-Truth, Zack Ryder and many more!

Confirmed for Monday Night

-Vince McMahon WWE Championship announcement
-Curt Hawkins vs. Zack Ryder
-Beth Phoenix and Melina vs. Kelly Kelly and Eve

WWE NEWS AND RUMOURS
From prowrestlingscoops.com

-Officials are said to be ‘delighted’ with how the Money In The Bank PPV ended up, especially the Main Event. The feeling around the camp is that WWE could have given both a show of the year as well as a Match of the Year in one night. Many were unsure of the result of the Main match and heard that contract negotiatons had legit stalled so many even inside the company were shocked when Punk walked out the WWE Champ.

-Massive news update on a possible returning star!

Mick Foley, the Hardcore Legend is said to be in talks over one last run once his TNA Contract expires this September. It is said that it’s almost a dead cert that Foley will be around for Wrestlemania season and may just work one more match at The Grandest Stage Of Them All. Against who, we don’t know yet, more updates as we get them

-Daniel Bryan’s Smackdown MITB win was met with widespread shock in the back, since WWE has shown very little faith in Bryan as of yet. Most feel D. Bryan will have to get over and be given much more of a chance to do so in the coming months if he is to be made a credible threat to the World Title

-People are more at ease with the victory of Del Rio. As per WWE.com, Del Rio picked up a knock and isn’t medically cleared by the medical staff. No word on whether this injury is legit, but early reports suggest it is not. We are hearing that the WWE doesn’t want Del Rio overshadowed in his first appearance as MITB holder by the ongoing WWE Championship/John Cena situation

-On that note, WWE.com have seemingly erased all details of CM Punk from their website and there are no records of his past Title victories. The company seem to be going the full way with this.

-Teddy Long gone? Rumour has it that Mr. Long could be released within a matter of weeks. He is no longer in charge of Smackdown according to WWE.com, Vince McMahon has been placed in charge apparently.

OOC: Up next, the rosters and champions. Gonna enjoy this one!

Raw Episode #947

Resch Center, Greenbay, Wisconsin / 18th July 2011

*21:00:31-On The Air*

We start with the camera panning around a packed Resch Centre, buzzing at the events of last night and how the night will begin here on Raw, one of the biggest in WWE history.

*NO CHANCE*

Vince McMahon’s familiar music blares across the P.A. system and the Chairman of the board is met with huge boos from the crowd. Tonight there is no smirk, there is no swagger. Vince McMahon is a defeated man and he shows it as he walks out onto the ramp alone staring ahead intently. The camera pans back to the WWE locker room, where seemingly the entire WWE roster surround the television as Vince makes an announcement on their futures. Loud CM PUNK chants go up as Vince climbs up the steel steps and into the ring. Even the commentators are radio silent as Vince’s music dies down. Vince stares out at his WWE Universe, before wincing as an all too familiar chant goes up.

Crowd:CM PUNK! CM PUNK! CM PUNK!

The crowd continue chanting over and over as Vince finally brings the mic to his lips

Vince: 48 years....

The crowd’s raucous chant dies down as they await McMahons words with baited breath

Vince: That’s how long it has been since we crowned our first ever WWE Champion here in the WWE. In the last 48 years, the world around us has changed on an unimaginable scale. But the one thing, the ONE thing that has remained constant for those 48 years is the fact you could show up at a WWE event and you would see your hero hoist that belt high above his head, signifying that he was the BEST in the world. Some of the greatest men to ever step foot in this ring have held that Title at one point......

Guys like....Bruno Sanmartino

Decent pop for Bruno, especially from the older fans

Guys like Bret Hart!

A bigger pop this time

Shawn Michaels!

MASSIVE pop for HBK

Men like STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN!

Another huge pop from the crowd

Vince: The list goes on and on but the fact is the one thing that unites each of these legends is the fact they held the WWE Championship at one point in their legendary careers. That belt is one of the most valuable assets in the world and THE most important thing to me in the world. It signifies what this company stands for....integrity, honour, competition. I have worked my whole life to get across to everyone I meet just how important this Title is to us, WAS to us.

The crowd are now much quieter, hanging off of every word the chairman says now

Vince: And dammit all you have to do is go into the back and ask each and every member of the WWE Roster why they became a WWE Superstar and I guaren-damn-tee you they’ll all say the same thing...I wanted to be Champ! Each one of them, whether you love ‘em or hate‘em they all want to do the same thing. Win the WWE Championship!

Applause for the men in the back now

Vince: That Championship was the TOP prize for any man who wants to make it in this business. Well, last night it was one hell of a defeat for us as a company, all those men as performers and me as a man when.....

Vince hesistates and the crowd help him out, loudly chanting ‘CM PUNK! CM PUNK!’ again

Vince: Yeah, that ungrateful son of a bitch who we will not mention by name on my TV show ever again defeated John Cena to walk out on this company, walk out on his friends, walk out on me as the WWE Champion. This has led to questions over the future of this company, what will we do moving forward. I can tell each and every one of you in here tonight that whilst I may not like the fact you chant his name, I still wont walk away from the business I poured my blood, sweat and tears into for more than 40 years of my life!

The crowd cheer McMahon for his resilience, despite the fact they dislike him

Vince: All this is to me, is a setback. A huge setback yes, but one with which we can deal with together. So I’m out here to inform all of you that last night never happened. That man never won our coveted WWE Championship. Tonight, we begin a new era!

The crowd boo loudly and begin chanting for Punk again, but Vince cuts them off abruptly

Vince: That’s right! Tonight, we begin our new era without...him...You see, setbacks are what Vincent Kennedy McMahon thrives on. On this night, we begin an 8-man tournament, one which will crown a NEW WWE Champion at the biggest party of the summer...SummerSlam!

Vince: Tonight, we will have two quarter final matches. Later on in the night, we will see.....The Awesome One, THE MIZ!

Loud boos from the crowd

Vince: Take on his former NXT rookie....ALEX RILEY!

Huge pop for Riley from the Greenbay audience

Vince: But up next, we will see R-Truth.....

Heat from the crowd

Vince: Take on.....the returning....JJJOOOHHHNNN MORRISSONN!!!!

Massive pop from the excited crowd. Vince pauses to take a breath and he looks pleased with his handiwork.

Vince: But before we get to that, I would like to inform each and every one of you that John Cena will indeed be out here with me later tonight to address his future. But until then, goodnight and enjoy the show!

Vince waves smugly to the crowd, who give him back loud boos in response, but they seem to bounce off the now radiant McMahon, cutting a different figure from when we saw him at the beginning of the show. We pan to the back again and now we see the WWE lockerroom talking in hushed tones, wondering who else will be included in the WWE Championship Tourney, among other raging questions on the mind of every WWE fan......

*21:10:31-21:14:45-Commercial Break*

Cole: Welcome back everyone to Monday Night Raw! I’m Michael Cole, the voice of the WWE alongside Jerry ‘The King’Lawler and Jerry, what a night we have in store!

Lawler: That’s right Cole and I can’t wait! Tonight, we begin on our path of crowning a NEW WWE Champion at Summerslam but that’s not all either!

Cole: Indeed, Vince McMahon came out here to address our...situation from last night and tell the WWE Universe that he will not give up, this is only a setback. It’s only a matter of time before all of us here at the WWE are back on track again!

*THE TRUTH...SHALL SET YOU FREE!*

R-Truth’s statement hits to resounding boos from the capacity crowd and he marches out onto the ramp, muttering away to himself, pulling at his hair. He is drinking from a bottle of water as he comes out.

Lawler: This guy’s a lunatic, how does he have a job here in the WWE?

Cole: Because he’s one of the most talented athletes we have, King! Listen, Truth came within a second of winning the WWE Championship at Capitol Punishment, he gave John Cena one of the toughest matches of his career!

Lawler: Still, it doesn’t change the fact he should be in a mental asylum before he comes anywhere near that ring!

Cole: I will agree on that point...

*AIN’T NO MAKE BELIEVE*

John Morrison gets a big pop on his in-ring return and he walks out in his signature fur coat and sunglasses attire and does his slow motion pose on the ramp

Cole: What an ovation for the returning John Morrison and what an opportunity for John, he has a chance of becoming the WWE Champion and of course, he has the chance to extract revenge on Truth....

We go to a video clip of Morrison being attacked by Truth on his return to Raw 5 weeks ago

Cole: A heated personal rivalry here to say the least. We should be in for a great bout! Remember, last time these two met, it was for the right to challenge for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules, a bout which Morrison won, sending Truth into this crazy man we see today.

Match 1: WWE Championship Tournament: Round 1- John Morrison vs. R-Truth

As Morrison climbs into the ring, Truth gets right up in his face and begins talking trash. The ref pulls Truth away, but Truth isn’t finished and he throws the bottle of water at Morrison and it connects with the side of the Shaman of Sexy’s face. He is momentarily stunned and Truth attempts to take advantage by tackling Jo-Mo to the ground and raining down rights and lefts on his unexpecting opponent. The ref pulls Truth away and checks on Morrison, who is still clutching the side of his face. John staggers to his feet and now the referee rings the bell and this match is underway.

Truth is of course on top from the get go and he takes Morrison down with a big shoulder block. He goes for the quick cover, trying to end this one quickly....

1!

.

.

.

Kick out from Morrison.

Truth charges at Morrison, taking him down again with a vicious clothesline. He stares out at the crowd, roaring at them to SHUT UP! As they boo him loudly. He picks Morrison up and whips him off the turnbuckle and Morrison, arching his back in pain, staggers out into the middle of the ring again. Truth picks him up, presumably to hit a sidewalk slam but we never see it as Morrison reverses with a Tilt a Whirl Head scissors. Truth tries to come back at Morrison, but Jo-Mo ducks the clothesline and goes for a Roundhouse kick to Truth, who catches his leg.

But this is no problem for Morrison who instead connects with a Handstand Kick, causing Truth to stagger backwards. The Prince of Parkour follows it up with a picture perfect dropkick, sending Truth through the ropes to the outside. Truth gets back to his feet and slaps the apron in frustration, staring up at Morrison. The ref tells Truth to get back into the ring and tells Morrison to back off so that he can. Truth climbs back up and tentatively gets into the ring, before charging at Morrison, who grabs Truth and hits a STO Backbreaker and twists Truth round and hits a side Russian Legsweep to take his opponent down. He goes for the cover.

Cole: This one could be over early here!

1!

.

.

2!

Kick out by Truth at 2.

Morrison looks to continue his momentum and he pulls Truth to his feet but a sneaky eye-rake from Truth which the ref somehow misses alters the momentum and Truth takes John down with a powerful Clothesline. He whips Morrison into the turnbuckle and races in after him, connecting with a big Stinger Splash in the corner of the ring. He waits for Morrison to stumble into the centre of the ring, where he floors him with a scoop powerslam. Truth goes to the turnbuckle and leaps up to the top rope, waiting for Jo-Mo to get up. When he does, Truth flies off the top rope and connects with a missile dropkick, taking Morrison down in the centre of the ring. Truth crawls toward the cover, as Morrison is laid out!

1!

.

.

2!

.

2.5!

.

Kick out by Morrison!

Cole: Morrison BARELY stays alive there as this match continues on Monday Night Raw!

Truth can’t believe that Morrison kicked out and he remonstrates with the referee and pounds the ground in frustration. He continues to argue with the ref and is distracted for a long enough time so that Morrison can get his bearings. He turns Truth around and chops him over and over to loud ‘WOOO!’s from the crowd. Truth is forced into the corner, but ducks underneath a chop and corners Morrison, hitting him with chops of his own. He then grabs Morrison by the hair and hits a bulldog, planting John face first on the mat. Truth takes a breather and waits for Morrison to get back to his feet and kicks him in the gut. He bounces off the ropes and goes for his patented Bicycle Kick, but Jo-Mo ducks it.

Morrison then attempts for a Flying Chuck (Disaster Kick) but Truth ducks it and Morrison rolls through. Truth then races towards Morrison and goes for the Shut Up finisher, but Morrison throws him off. Morrison then lines up a Superkick and the crowd are on their feet cheering, but R-Truth somehow ducks it and goes for the rollup!

1!

.

.

2!

Cole: Truth’s got the tights!

Lawler: Aw come on!

.

.

The ref spots the cheating!

Truth is furious and remonstrates with the ref and turns right into a massive Enziguiri from Morrison! Truth looks out cold, but Morrison wants to make sure of the victory and so drags Truth to the corner, before nailing him with a Starship Pain! He drapes an arm over Truth

John Morrison def. R Truth by pinfall in 6:29 to advance

Cole: And Morrison picks up a HUGE win and will advance into the next round of the tournament!

Lawler: Morrison fought his heart out tonight and is deserving of his place in the Semi Finals!

Cole: It is indeed Morrison as you can see who advances into the next round, as will the winner of our Main Event match tonight, Alex Riley versus The Miz!

As Cole is talking, a graphic shows up on the screen, showing us the top half of the tournament bracket, with Morrison advancing ahead of Truth as the screen fades to commercial

*21:26:13-21:30:41-Commercial Break*

We come back to Monday Night Raw and we see Matt Striker alongside the Tag Team Champions, David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty. They are clearly still fuming from their embarrassing non-title loss to Santino and Koslov last night.

Striker: David, Michael, thanks for joining me. Now, tonight in fact next here on Raw, you two defend your Tag Team Championships against Santino Marella and Vladimir Koslov, who defeated you last night. Aren’t you worried your reign will come to an end tonight?

McGillicuty stares at Striker before retorting

McGillicutty:What do you think Matt? Of course we aren’t worried about the prospects of a loss to those two goofballs who have the nerve to call themselves Superstars. Last night was a freak incident, kinda like how Santino debuted here in the WWE. He was called from the crowd. He was one of....them (Michael crinkles his nose in disgust)

Heat from the crowd who are watching on the jumbo-tron

McGillicutty:Yeah, we lost last night, but we didn’t lose our Titles. Like I said, all that happened last night was a freak occurrence...and we weren’t helped by the fact our ‘leader’ abandoned us.

Striker looks nervous as they are clearly treading on dangerous waters

Striker:Yes, well...can you guys address that situation about the New Nexus and please be careful with your wording.

Otunga pulls the mic towards himself now.

Otunga: (sarcastically) Certainly Matt. Thing is, we don’t have a damn clue who our leader is at this point and time. For now, me and Mike are the only remaining members of the New Nexus and we will continue to dominate the Tag Division for as long as we damn well please...Starting tonight!

Otunga nudges McGillicutty and the two walk off.

Striker:Thank you for your time gentlemen.

As the camera pans away from Striker, it focuses on a shadowy figure in the corner, of whom we can’t see a face. He was clearly listening in and he soon turns on his heel and walks away.

Cole:An interesting exchange there the last remaining members of the New Nexus had with our colleague Matt Striker, how much longer will we see this group on our TV screens?

Lawler: I don’t know Michael, but things are definitely looking bleak for Dave and Mike now aren’t they?

*LA VITTORIA E MIA*

The crowd are on their feet cheering the number one contender’s to the Tag Team Championships as Santino Marella makes his way out to the ring alongside Koslov. Both men are playing the air trumpet rather vigorously and Santino has to stop at the steel steps to take a little breather as Vladimir looks on with the same blank face that seems to accompany him his whole life.

Cole: You talk about goofballs, these guys are Class A goofballs Jerry! What went through Mr. McMahon’s head when granting these two goons a Title shot!?

Lawler: Listen Cole, just listen to the fans here...they love these two, they think they’re great! I 100% agree with them and let’s be honest, they know these two a hell of a lot better than you do! I for one hope they win tonight.

*WE ARE ONE*

David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty make their way out to the ring, New Nexus attire still on. They raise their Championships high in the air to loud boos from the crowd and they stare down their opponents for the night

Cole: Look at the focus these two have. Like we said, the final two members in the New Nexus and they told Striker that they would dominate the Tag Divsion for quote ‘As long as they damn well please’ Tonight is their proving ground.

Lawler: Personally, I see this as win or bust for these two gentlemen, a loss tonight and I don’t see them staying together for much longer.

Match 2: Tag Team Championship Match: The New Nexus (c) vs. Santino Marella and Vladimir Koslov

It will be McGillicutty and Santino to begin this bout. A loud ‘SAN-TIN-O!’ chant goes up among the capacity crowd and Marella looks to build off this huge crowd support and raises his arm to the crowd and shouts something in Italian, to which the crowd cheer loudly. The Champion however takes advantage of this and clocks Marella with a big right hand to start off this match. The crowd boo loudly as he stomps away at Santino, who crawls away and grabs the bottom rope and the referee tries to pull McGillicutty away, who just ignores him and continues stomping, so the ref begins a count

1!

2!

Michael steps away raising his hands in a sign of innocence and he tags in Otunga, who goes to work on Santino, pulling him up by the scruff of his neck and throwing him into the corner. He hits The Milan Miracle with shoulder thrusts, each one taking the wind out of Santino. He pulls Marella toward the centre of the ring and there he hits him with a big Suplex to the mat and he covers...

1!

.

.

2!

.

Kick out at 2.5

Cole: (as Otunga drags Marella away from Koslov and to the Champions’ corner) Great tactic from the Champs, isolating who I feel is the weak link of this team.

Lawler: weak link or not, no-one can take a two on one beat down for that long...

Otunga tags in McGillicuty, who goes to work on Santino with big rights and lefts. He throws Santino off the ropes and connects with a big back body drop on the return. McGillicutty smirks out at the crowd and stretches out his arms, to loud boos. However, he doesn’t waste much time and is clearly focused on the task in hand. Santino swings wildly with a right hand, but McGillicutty sees it coming and ducks, before grabbing Marella and hitting a massive German Suplex, sending Santino flying across the ring. McGillicutty crawls over and rolls Santino onto his back, hooking the leg.

1!

.

.

2!

.

.

Kick out by Marella!

McGillicutty tags in Otunga, who looks to Irish Whip Marella into the corner, but Santino reverses and David arches his back in pain as he comes back out of the corner. Santino connects with a few jabs, stunning Otunga, who lashes out with a clothesline, which Santino ducks by doing the splits. He then throws Otunga off the ropes and hits a Hip Toss, sending Otunga flying. Marella follows this up with his signature Salute and Diving Headbutt. Both men are down centre of the ring, with the crowd cheering on Santino to make it to Koslov...

Btoh men crawl to their separate corners and Santino gets the tag! Otunga also does, but Koslov doesn’t see it, and drags Otunga into the centre of the ring and lays him out with a massive Spinebuster! Otunga is out and Koslov hooks the leg calling the ref over. The referee has to inform him that Otunga isn’t the legal man and Vladimir begins to argue with the ref. McGillicutty twists him round and hits the McGillicutter and falls to the floor, hooking the leg

1!

.

.

2!

.

.

3!

Result:
The New Nexus def. Marella and Koslov by pinfall in 5:28 to retain their Titles.
McGillicutty grabs the titles from the ref and helps Otunga to his feet and hands him the Title. The two rasie each others arms and the Titles aloft to loud boos.

Cole: What an impressive win tonight for these two and that’s one monkey off their back in the form of a victory over the two goofballs!

The camera shows us Santino helping his buddy up to his feet and helping Koslov backstage as we head to Matt Striker once again, who is waiting backstage. A black Audi pulls up and John Cena steps out of the passenger seat looking glum as Striker hurries towards him.

Striker: John! John, can you either confirm or deny the reports that Chairman Vince McMahon is calling you to the ring tonight to inform you of your firing?

Cena stares at Striker solemnly before retorting.

John Cena: I know as much as you guys right now. All I know is Mr. McMahon had his office contact me to come to Raw tonight to address my situation. But lemme say this...IF Vince is planning on firing me tonight, I won’t go down without getting my view in first.

With that, Cena is gone and Striker stares after the Leader of the Cenation before we head back to our commentators at ringside looking solemnly at one another, then Cole turns to the camera.

Cole: Ladies and gentlemen, we promise to keep you up to date with the John Cena situation as soon as we hear ANYTHING from anyone. But for right now, let’s get back to the action in the ring with Evan Bourne set for one on one action.

Justin Roberts: Ladies and gentlemen, this bout is set for one fall and in the ring from St. Louis Missouri, weighing 165 pounds...EVAN BOURNE!

Bourne gives the peace sign as the crowd give him a decent pop from the crowd as he awaits his opponent.

*WE ARE ONE*

Cole: Wait a second that’s the music of the New Nexus....OH MY! Mason Ryan has returned ladies and gentlemen!

Bourne’s face drops in the ring as the huge Welshman storms out from the back and makes his way down the ramp to boos from the crowd

Roberts: And his opponent, from Cardiff Wales, weighing 295 pounds....MASON RYAN!

Ryan hauls himself up by the ropes and gets in the ring, staring wild eyed at his opponent. The referee calls for the bell and this one begins

Match 3: Evan Bourne vs. Mason Ryan

Bourne and Ryan tentatively advance towards each other. Mason attempts to grabs Bourne in a headlock but Evan uses his quick feet to slip under Mason and he lashes out with some stiff kicks to Ryan’s knee and Mason roars in pain. He grabs Evan by the scruff of the neck and hurls him all the way across to the other side of the ring! Bourne gets up and charges towards Ryan but the Welshman literally flips Bourne over after exploding into him with an almighty clothesline. The crowd gasp in horror as Mason hauls Bourne to his feet and in position for a Powerbomb.

He lifts him up and hits a powerbomb, but holds on to him and hits another....followed by YET ANOTHER! He finally lets Bourne go and covers him, elbow against Evan’s face.

Result:
Mason Ryan def. Evan Bourne via pinfall in 1:29

Cole: My God what a brute of a man Mason Ryan is, did you see the way he man handl-....Hey, who the heck’s that?

As Mason is celebrating in the ring, a figure appears on the stage. The man has the same build and height as the man we saw part of after the Otunga/McGillicutty interview. Only this time we see his head. A mop of messy short hair cover the man’s eyes. However, he pulls his hair back over his eyes and we see this man.....

hqdefault.jpg

Cole: Hey, I know that kid, that’s Dean Ambrose down from FCW!

Lawler: Yeah, one hell of a creepy dude, that’s what I know about him!

Ambrose stares manically around the arena, before licking his lips and turning his attention back to Mason in the ring. His lips arc up slowly into a twisted smirk, before he begins to applaud Ryan’s performance. Mason stares, confused in the ring as the camera fades to commercial with Dean slowly turning around and slowly walking backstage.

*21:49:08-21:53:56-Commercial Break*

Cole: Welcome back to Monday Night Raw, I’m Michael Cole the VOICE of the WWE alongside Jerry Lawler and Jerry, what do you suppose that was all about before the break?

Lawler: Cole, I know most of our viewers at home won’t really know the name of Dean Ambrose but lemme tell you, I’ve seen what this guy has done down in FCW, and you do not wanna get on the wrong side of him, that’s for sure!

*HOLLA!*

The crowd pop as Kelly Kelly makes her way out from the back alongside Eve and they pose on the top of the ramp

Cole: Last night, Kelly defeated Brie Bella, who was said to be totally frustrated with yet another loss to Kelly. Beth has also shown signs of frustration at being pushed to the bottom of the pile of challengers, although what a chance she has tonight to prove herself to everyone watching!

*GLAMAZON*

Beth makes her way out to a nice pop and she is alongside Melina, and again the two women do their respective poses before making their way down to the ring and climbing into it, Melina of course doing her signature splits

Cole: Jerry, you’re drooling....

Match 4: Kelly Kelly and Eve vs. Beth Phoenix and Melina

The match begins with Eve and Melina in the ring. They lock up and Eve gets the upper hand, locking Melina in a headlock. However, Melina pushes her off and into the ropes and on the return hits an impressive dropkick which takes down Eve. Melina goes for the quick cover....

Eve kicks out at two.

Melina picks Eve up and locks her in a Camel Clutch, leaving Eve to scream out in pain. The ref asks Eve a few times whether she wants to give in, but she shouts NO! Melina throws her to the ground and waits for hr to get up and when she does looks to hit a Clothesline. However, Eve tries the same and both women go down centre of the ring.

Cole: Both women down and the referee is gonna start the count....

Melina tags in Beth, before Eve tags in KK to a small but decent pop from the crowd. Beth goes for a clothesline, but Kelly ducks and rebounds off the ropes, hitting a Diving Crossbody. However, Beth rolls through and picks Kelly up, showing tremendous strength before slamming her down on her back. She picks Kelly up, setting up The Glam Slam, but Kelly elbows her way out of it somehow and rolls up Beth!

Cole: The Diva’s Champion has stolen victory from Beth Phoenix here, unbelievable!

Result:
Kelly Kelly and Eve def. Beth Phoenix and Melina by pinfall in 2:35

Eve joins Kelly in the ring celebrating. They climb opposite turnbuckles as Beth recovers and stares up at Kelly. As The Champ hops down from the turnbuckle onto the mat, Beth explodes into her with a massive clothesline! Eve stares at Beth and the crowd are left motionless before they find their voices and begin booing Beth. Beth grabs Eve and lays her out with a massive clothesline also.

Cole: Beth Phoenix has lost it here, months of frustration just boiling over right now!

Melina is now in the ring and turns Beth around and begins shouting at her. Beth pushes her out of the way, but Melina turns her round and slaps her. Beth’s eyes light up in fury and she grabs her ex-partner and lays her out with a huge Glam Slam! Phoenix stares at the carnage, before picking up the Diva’s Championship and raising it above her head. She then throws it to a motionless Kelly Kelly and climbs out of the ring, smirking as the crowd boo her even louder.

Cole: Jerry, can you believe what just happened here? Beth Phoenix just destroyed three of our most talented Diva’s and all three would’ve called her a friend just minutes ago.

Lawler: I honestly did not see that coming and I can only imagine that she is jealous of Kelly Kelly?

Cole: I think it’s more frustration than anything King, Beth has been pushed out of the spotlight by the arrival of Kelly Kelly as a Main Event player and she needed to make some sort of statement tonight!

King seems to disagree but shrugs regardless. A graphic comes up on our screens featuring Cena and McMahon staring at each other. The caption underneath reads ‘TONIGHT-CENA FACES THE MUSIC LIVE ON RAW!*

Cole: And ladies and gentlemen, we here at the WWE are proud to announce that Cee-Lo Green will be performing the song that is the official song of Summerslam 2011: Bright Lights, Bigger City as well as the hit smash ‘Forget You’ Should be great, tune in August 14thLIVE on Pay Per View!

We come back to Monday Night Raw where Curt Hawkins is in the ring awaiting his competition for the evening.

*WOO WOO WOO! YOU KNOW IT!*

A decent sized pop for Long Island Iced Z as he makes his way down to the ring.

Cole: Zack Ryder has catapulted into internet fame with his hit series ‘Z True Long Island Story’ and he is finally beginning to get the recognition he feels he deserves! Personally, i think he’s an idiot but hey...

Lawler: Michael Cole will you shut up!? Zack is a great talent and I’m certain we will see that tonight!

Match 5: Zack Ryder vs. Curt Hawkins

The referee calls for the bell and Zack and Curt lock up. Zack gains the upper hand and grabs Curt in a headlock. He brings Curt to his knees before Hawkins fights back and bounces Zack off the ropes, only to have Ryder come back and floor his former partner with a shoulder block. He bounces back off the ropes and leaps over the floored Hawkins and runs the ropes again, this time spotting a telegraphed back body drop from Curt and rolling through, looking for a roll up....

Commercial @ 1:30

*22:05:01-22:09:39-Commercial Break*

We return to see Curt Hawkins in control of the match-up, having a headlock in full force, queezing tight at the windpipe of Ryder. As Zack sinks to his knees Hawkins smirks and tells the crowd that ‘It’s all over now!’ to which they respond not too kindly to. They begin clapping and a‘LET’s GO RYDER!’ chant breaks out. Long Island Iced Zee seems to feed off the energy off the crowd and finally gets to his feet, and powers out of the headlock to loud cheers

Hawkins tries to take Ryder down with a right hand, but Zack blocks it and responds in kind with a right hand of his own. He continues hitting Curt with the big rights and corners him, before hitting him with a clothesline against the turnbuckle. Hawkins slumps into the corner. Zack backs up and a small section of crowd chants along with him...WOO! WOO! WOO! Ryder charges towards Hawkins and takes him out with a boot to the face!

Cole: He calls that The Broski Boot and it may have just ended Curt’s hopes here!

As Hawkins staggers out of the corner still holding his head, Zack lines him up and The Long Island man hits his finisher The Rough Ryder! The crowd cheer as he crawls into the cover...

Ryder celebrates as we head backstage where cameras spot Tag Team Champions David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty standing beside Mason Ryan talking to this virtual unknown, Dean Ambrose. He seems to be persuading the members of the New Nexus of something unknown. However, he seems to be persuading them as Otunga nods and claps Ambrose on the back.

Cole: What do you suppose this is all about?

Lawler: I have no idea....

Cole: Anyways, ladies and gentlemen, last week Alberto Del Rio made history when he became the first man to win both the Royal Rumble and the Money in the Bank Briefcase...in the same year!

The camera fades to a shot of Alberto climbing the ladder slowly to unhook the briefcase as commentary clips from the MITB match are heard. As Del Rio grabs the briefcase, his theme tune plays in the background. We see quick pictures of him and Ricardo Rodriguez celebrating and one of him atop the ladder, holding the briefcase high above his head and kissing it. Then we see a graphic informing us that Del Rio will be returning to Monday Night Raw next Monday Night as we head to a Commercial

*22:13:48-22:17:39-Commercial Break*

Cole: welcome back to Raw, and what a career defining night this could be for John Cena as Vince McMahon, who told him he would be fired if he lost the WWE Championship last night, promised to address Cena’s job status come the end of the night. King, Cena is here tonight, is this the last night we see John Cena walk down that ramp?

Lawler: I may get in trouble for saying this Michael, but I sure hope not, John Cena is one of, if not THE biggest star of the last decade in WWE!

Cole: Well, there can be no arguing with you there King. But up next ladies and gentlemen, its the second Quarter Final match-up in the WWE Championship Tournament, it will be The Miz up against his former protégée, Alex Riley!

*AWWWE-SOME! I CAME TO PLAY!*

Cole: And here he comes, The Awesome One, The Most Must See WWE Superstar in WWE History, my friend...The Miz!

Lawler: Alright, give it a break Michael, no-one wants to hear anything from your fat mouth! Plus, I’m pretty sure you’re gonna make people sick with that garbage.

Miz storms down to the ring, only stopping to do his trademark pose at the ringpost as the camera zooms up on him before he demands a mic from a nearby stagehand, who hands it to him. Miz waits for the crowd to die down before he raises the mic (with the upside down W of course) to his lips, looking around disgustedly at the crowd.

Miz: All of you should take out your phones or your cameras or whatever it is you ingrates have in Greenbay, because I, The Miz, am the greatest thing to come through this God-for-saken area since the dawn of time!

Massive heat for Miz, especially after the insulting of Greenbay.

Miz: Forget you little Greenbay Packers who I can tell you now won’t ever win a Superbowl after that fluke victory last year....

MAJOR heat for Miz right now.

Miz: Forget your crappy Green Bay Phoenix, forget all of ‘em, because right here (points to himself) this is greatness...personified! And I find it offensive that I wasn’t the name on everyone’s lips at the end of MITB last night. After all, I am the MOST MUST SEE SUPERSTAR IN WWE HISTORY! I defeated John Cena in the Main Event of Wrestlemania! But still, tonight you chant the name of a Punk.....

Crowd give Miz some heat before launching into a raucous CM PUNK! Chant

Miz: Well, lemme tell you this Green Bay. Come Summerslam you won’t be chanting the name of a Punk and only ONE name will be on the lips of every single person in that arena and at home. That name....MIZ! Why? BECAUSE I’M THE MIZ! AND IIIII’MMMM...AWWWWW...

*SAY IT TO MY FACE*

The crowd erupt as Alex Riley rudely interrupts his former mentor as he was telling us all how AWESOME he was. Riley is wasting no time here and sprints down to the ring and slides underneath the ropes, tackling a furious Miz to the ground and laying into him with massive rights and lefts!

Cole: Months of anger and hatred between these two has boiled over and here we go!

Miz reverses and begins laying into Riley himself. He rips Alex’s tee shirt off and hurls it out of the ring, before telling the ref to ring the bell. He rips his own shirt off as the ref starts the match

Match 6: WWE Championship Tournament- Quarter Final: The Miz vs. Alex Riley

Miz starts off the match going after Riley, but Riley fights back much to the delight of the crowd with big rights and lefts, pushing Miz into the corner putting his hands over his head in self defence. The ref calls for A-Ry to bring it out of the corner and pulls him away, distracting A-Ry and Miz takes advantage with a kick to the gut. HE then bounces off the ropes and hits a big Bulldog and goes for the early pin...

Riley powers out early. Miz picks him up and looks to Irish Whip him into the turnbuckle, but Riley reverses it and hurls The Awesome One into the corner. He drags Miz out of the corner and runs the ropes, connecting with a huge clothesline to take down Miz once again. The Miz rolls out of the ring to take a breather by the announce table, but Riley won’t let up and rolls out of the ring to take down Miz. He hits him with an elbow to the back of the head, then looks to bash Miz’ skull of that announce table. However, Miz stops himself and connects with an elbow of Riley’s jaw before slamming the NXT Series 2 rookie off the table. Riley is dazed and Miz rolls back into the ring, telling the ref to count...

Cole: Smart strategy by The Miz, he doesn’t necessarily have to win via pinfall to advance into the next round!

Lawler: Its also called being a coward. C’mon A-Ry get back in there!

Riley struggles back into the ring as Miz starts booting away at him, before grabbing him and locking him in a headlock, squeezing down with a look of viciousness in his eyes. Riley tries to get back to his feet but Miz brings him back down again. Alex desperately tries to fight out with lefts and rights and elbows to the gut of Miz. A few connect in a row and Miz stumbles back winded, thus releasing the hold. He staggers into the corner, and Riley tries to flatten him against the turnbuckle but Miz ducks out of the way and Riley falls to his knees holding his chest. Miz gras him and hits a HUGE Snap DDT to loud ‘OOHH!’s from the crowd. He turns the motionless Riley over and covers...

We return back to Raw to see Miz chopping away at Riley in the corner, but Riley ducks one chop and begins connecting with a flurry of right hands in the corner

Cole: Throughout the Commercial we have seen Riley bee dominated by The Awesome Miz but he may have turned this around here, look out...WHAT A SPINEBUSTER!

Indeed it was and Riley looks to take advantage by pinning Miz...

Now it’s Riley’s turn to look at the referee in disbelief and the crowd can’t believe it either. We get a replay of the sheer impact of the Spinebuster. Riley climbs to his feet and ponders what to do next and decides. He pulls Miz to his feet and kicks him in the gut, before setting him in position for a Powerbomb....

Lawler: This would be it OVER right here!

He lifts Miz high above his head but Miz, unseen to the ref who is standing facing the back of Miz, doesn’t see a blatant rake to the eyes of Riley. This loosens A-Ry’s grip falters and Miz basically falls on A-Ry’s face!

Cole: That may have broken the nose of Riley! It’s gotta be over here.....

Miz however isn’t 100% and struggles towards the cover , only draping an arm over Riley

NOO! A-Ry thrusts his shoulder up at the last possible moment! Miz REALLY can’t believe it this time and begs the referee to tell him that was a three count. He then pushes the ref out of the way in his anger and begins to tear off the padding on the turnbuckle so as it’s exposed. The ref remonstrates with Miz and pulls him away, attempting to put the padding back over the metal turnbuckle.

Riley kicks Miz in the gut and sets up Riley Elevation, but Miz slips out of it and hits a low blow to Riley unseen by the ref who is still focused on the turnbuckle! Riley goes down holding his nuts in severe pain as the ref turns round to see Miz hit a boot off the skull of A-Ry. Miz cockily falls into the cover and the ref begins to count...

RILEY KICKS OUT! Miz’ face literally goes purple with rage as a huge pop goes up for Riley and the crowd start chanting ‘RILEY! RILEY!’ However, he’s in a bad place and Miz sets him up for the Skull Crushing finale....AND HITS IT! The crowd boo loudly as Miz crawls into the cover.....

Cole: C’mon Miz!!

Lawler: No!

Cole: YES! The Miz will advance, what a gutsy performance from the Awesome One! And he advances to face former Tag Team Partner John Morrison in two weeks time at the Semi-Final stage!

Result:
The Miz def. Alex Riley via Pinfall in 13:41

The Miz celebrates in the ring to loud boos as Riley is only recovering now. We head backstage to see two separate video feeds. One, with the chairman of the board Vince McMahon and the other with John Cena. Both men look glum as they ARE WALKING! towards the ring....There is a few moments of buzzing in the arena then....

*MY TIME IS NOW*

John Cena’s all to familiar music hits the jumbo-tron and the man gets his usual HUGE reception and mixed as expected.

Cole: There is no salute tonight from the Cenation Leader, he knows that he has one hell of a fight on his hands to keep the job he has dreamed of having since he was a child.

Cena stops on his way down the ramp, taking a good look around at the fans, he seems to believe that this could be it. The camera fades to commercial as Cena gets in the ring...

*22:38:54-22:44:01-Commercial Break*

We return back to Raw with Cena having a microphone in hand, and he is waiting on Vince.

*NO CHANCE*

Vince’s music hits to a mostly negative reaction for the owner and boss of the WWE. He has a microphone in hand and he and Cena stare at each other before Vince advances down the ramp with none of the swagger that usually accompanies him. Again, this man is all business now. He climbs into the ring and waits for the music and fans to die down before he begins.

Vince: Now, before I say anything here John, I would like to start by giving you the chance to gimme one reason why I shouldn’t damn well fire you right now!

Vince stares at Cena, who smiles slightly, before bringing the mic to his lips

Cena: Ah, so pleasant as usual Vinnie Mac-

Vince: Don’t you dare disrespect me, not on a night like this!

Cena's usual quirkiness is soon replaced by a look of seriousness on his face

Cena:....Fair enough. You want to know why you should keep me as part of this company? I’ll give you a ton of reasons if needs be. Let’s start with this....I NEED this. I live and breath wrestling, I have done since I was 5 years old and making replica belts out the back! All my life, I’ve had one dream and that’s to stand in this ring and be recognized as a WWE Superstar. You wanna talk about being a great ambassador for Make-A-Wish?? You fire me tonight and I guaren-damn-tee you the backlash will be too great for even you to handle!

Vince looks at Cena, poker face intact not giving anything away

Cena: Vince, I can tell you now that if you let me go, it’ll be bad for business. Last night was the worst night of my life, but it was the worst of yours too. You lost everything last night, you put your faith in me. I let you down, I’m man enough to admit that. But please, don’t let it come to this. We need to work together to build this company back up! You need me to stay, you know it deep down boss. Besides, if you do fire me tonight, who’s to stay I won’t just leave to another company and continue plying my trade there...BROTHER?

A good section of the crowd get this and are shocked. Vince lets the poker face slip momentarily before putting the invisible mask back on. Cena pauses before continuing

Cena: Vince, I know half these people love me, and half of them hate me, but the half that love me, tune in to see me win and the other half tune in to see me get my ass whooped!

The older section of the crowd cheer this last statement as Cena smiles

Cena: My point is, without me in this ring, wrestling for this company; it won’t be the same for anyone watching on television or live. Vince, my code is ‘Hustle. Loyalty. Respect.’ Those three words are my motto in life. So if you fire me, I’ll walk away with my head held high and I will continue doing what I love and that’s being a PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER!

The majority of the crowd seem to be beginning to turn towards Cena’s side tonight and Vince ponders Cena’s speech before bringing his mic up to his mouth.

Vince: You know what John...you’re right! (Cheer and Cena says ‘Thank you’) Wait, wait, wait....You’re right when you said you let me down (Loud boos now and Cena is shocked) John, I put everything I had in your hands. I placed my faith completely in you, the WHOLE WWE UNIVERSE put their faith in you damnit! And you, ‘The Champ’ (McMahon practically spits these words) let each and every single one of them down.

Some smarks cheer, but the majority of Green bay still seems to be behind Cena and the boos overwhelm the small section who cheer

Vince: Listen, I know all the good you’ve done for this company, truly I do. But let’s face facts...you lost the WWE Title in the biggest match in WWE History, you LOST in the Main Event of the Grandest Stage of Them All. Face it John, you’ve lost your golden shine. Hustle loyalty and respect can’t help your cause tonight.

Cena looks shocked as Vince pauses. Clearly this is hard for him too.

Vince: John, it’s with great regret that I inform you...JOHN CENA....YEEERRRRR FF-

*TIME TO PLAY THE GAME*

An ALMIGHTY pop goes up for Triple H, who after a few seconds appears on the ramp, wearing a suit and looking solemn. Vince stares at Hunter in shock along with Cena, who is also pretty surprised. The Game climbs into the ring and stares down with Cena, as his music dies down.

Triple H: Cena, hit the locker room, you’re not getting fired tonight.

The crowd give a mostly positive reception to this news

Vince: Bu-

Triple H:
GO Cena!

Cena looks confused, but he listens to Triple H and climbs through the ropes and slowly makes his way back up the ramp slowly as the crowd await The Cerebral Assassins next words. Cena claps a few hands on the way up as news sinks in that he still has a job.

Vince: What the hell’s the meaning of this Hunter! I’m in charge here, not you!

Triple H:....Vince...I don’t even know how to put this, I’m still in shock myself...

Vince: The hell you talking about!? Spit it out Hunter!

Triple H looks at Vince with a pained expression on his face.

Triple H: (sighs) So last night after the Money in the Bank Pay Per View, there was a meeting between the company’s lead advisors, The WWE Board of Directors. They were talking about your sutability for the job. Vince, the decision was final. We have agreed that whilst you can keep your place on the WWE Board of Directors, your services as CEO are no longer required...

Vince stares at Hunter with a look of shock on his face as we zoom into shocked members of the audience

Triple H: Vince, I’m sorry (puts hand on McMahon’s shoulder) Dad....they appointed me as the new CEO of the company.

The crowd are half shocked, but still manage to cheer at the same time for Triple H. McMahon looks at him with shock and they begin talking to each other. Vince gets more and more angry as the conversation goes on. We can audibly hear Vince screaming‘You went behind my back to take my job!’ and he also says ‘I Need this!’ his son-in-law continues to apologize over and over, as if his 1000th apology will have any more impact than the other 999.

Triple H puts his hand on the shoulder of Vince, but Vince pulls away. Triple H tries to reason with him, but Vince shoves him away to a gasp from the audience. Triple H stares at Vince before raising his hands and leaving the ring, shaking his head and being on the verge of tears. Back in the ring, Vince’s expression changes from anger to a mixture of fear and heartbreak. He breaks down and begins crying in the ring. The commentators are speechless as Raw goes off the air with a surprisingly loud, ‘THANK YOU VINCE!’ chant going up
