After suffering a rib injury earlier in the month, Will Ospreay has been oficially removed from 'NJPW Power Struggle'.

The company made the official announcement last night, removing him from his scheduled match with Taichi where he would challenge for the NEVER Openweight Championship. Following a rib injury for an RPW event, Ospreay was removed from the 'Road To Power Struggle' tour to recover however, Ospreay has stated that he needs more time to recover. Press release here.

Rather than name a replacement, NJPW has decided to cancel the semi-main event bout of the supercard. The already scheduled match between Tomohiro Ishii and Minoru Suzuki for the Undisputed British Heavyweight title will likely take it's spot on the card just before it's scheduled EVIL vs Chris Jericho main event.

Ospreay sustained the injury on October 14 in a match against Chris Ridgeway for the Global Wars UK tour when he had a bad landing off a kick. The match ended prematurely and Ospreay was rushed to a hospital.

Power Struggle is set to take place on November 3 at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium and airing via NJPW World.
