Jericho being in the final 2 is more than enough for him to get the other title match at wrestlemania. So it make sense that Sheamus win it.

regardless if Triple H is Sheamus' fella or not.

Jericho didn't win because he's going into Mania as champion.

Goes in as champ, leaves as champ drops it to anyone other than Punk or Cena at Backlash, and I seriously mean anyone.

Jericho didn't win cause he doesn't need it, & I doubt he goes into or comes out of WM as champ, seeing as his current run with WWE isn't going to last as long as some Jericholics would like it too, he'll likely be gone shortly after WM.

There was a report on the main news site saying that Jericho is likely to be taking time off around late April/early May, so maybe that was a factor too?

Jericho did not need to win the Rumble because the story is better that way. It allows him to be a full fledged heel in this feud with Punk.
