The new WZCW power rankings - "The Splendid Seven"

Bernkastel

Reaper of Miracles
WZCW.com hasn't ran these in a while, and I thought it might be time to revive them, with the Lethal Lottery cycle coming to a close, and the Kingdom Come one starting soon. In the past, this award provided wrestlers with a mirror that reflected validation for their hard work. An ego booster that fostered bragging rights and a sense of self worth. It's quite an accomplishment to make this list.

WZCW.com plans to release this award at the end of every PPV cycle, and if you ask yourself "Well, how do I qualify?" Win your matches. Perform well. The best wrestlers in the company at the end of each cycle are reflected here, so if you want to prove you're one of the best. Make this list.

Any questions should be directed towards the Ask a Creative thread in the backstage section. Feel free to discuss these rankings backstage, or on the Discord server. This thread should be for new entries only.

Without further ado, here are our power rankings heading into the Lethal Lottery...

WZCW - The Splendid Seven

#7 - TITUS AVISON

Titus had an incredible run during the Unscripted cycle. He defended the Eurasian championship at both MD 144 against Anthony Mancini, and again against Mark Keaton and Xander Lebelle in a tag team match at Unscripted. Since then, the Eurasian champ's luck on the mat has not been great. The only win that he's had this cycle has been against The Beard at AS 125. With contenders piling up, Titus faces his hardest task yet. At Lethal Lottery, the Hall of Famer must defend his title in a Four Pack Challenge. Many wonder if this is truly the end of the EurAvison Era.

#6 - TRIPLE X

Triple X returned to WZCW at AS 121, and has been on fire ever since. He scored a big win over Constantine at MD 145, and two huge wins over Eurasian champion Titus. First in a Chairs match at Meltdown Madness, and then in the champ's own Pure Rules match at AS 124. Triple X has been hungry for gold since his return to the company, and with two wins over the reigning champion, he's arguably the odds on favorite to win the Eurasian title at Lethal Lottery.

#5 - ACE STEVENS

Ace Stevens made a surprise return at the WZCW 10th Anniversary Show, in a losing effort against then World champion Justin Cooper. Since then, the man has been a force to be reckoned with. Often overlooked due to his recent domination of the Mayhem division, Ace proved himself to have the skills necessary to be a standout contender higher up the card, demonstrated when he defeated former Elite Openweight champion Callie Clark at AS 121. While racking up a bit of a losing streak since winning a Eurasian title shot at Unscripted, Stevens proved once again that he deserves his spot in the running when he defeated rival Triple X at MD 148.

image.png

#4 - MATT TASTIC

Matt Tastic had an incredible run during the Unscripted cycle. He racked up 5 wins in a row, including big wins over former World champion The Beard in a Mayhem rules match at MD 144, and #1 contender to the World title Batti Otaku at AS 122. The cherry on top of this success sundae came when he defeated Callie Clark at Unscripted and captured the Elite Openweight title. Since then, Matt hasn't been able to replicate that same success. Dropping the title back to Clark at Meltdown Madness, and a loss in a tag team bout at MD 148 have hurt his stock quite a bit. Despite this, analysts and fans alike still peg the Hall of Famer as a dark horse for winning the Lottery this year.

image.png

#3 - EVE TAYLOR

Despite coming up short during her KFAD qualifying match, Eve continued to work hard, and racked up an impressive number of victories during the Unscripted cycle. Including Tyrone Blades at AS 122 and Logan McAllister at Unscripted. After another string of strong wins, Eve was granted a #1 contenders match against the nigh-unbeatable Batti at AS 125. They drew. Now Eve finds herself in a Triple Threat match at Lethal Lottery for the top prize in all of WZCW, as the dark horse of the 3. But make no mistake, Eve has proven beyond any doubt that she deserves this opportunity.

image.png

#2 - KAGURA

Kagura picked up a string of wins during the Unscripted cycle, starting by becoming the first woman to win the KFAD briefcase. She only lost once, and that was to rival Batti at Unscripted in a Chain match. She was able to keep her momentum going, but suffered an impromptu loss against Tyrone Blades at MD 147. She would team with Blades at AS 125, and the two had a victorious showing in her home country. She would later do the unthinkable. Following the inconclusive #1 contenders match between Eve Taylor and Batti, Kagura Ohzora cashed in her KFAD contract, and defeated Constantine for the WZCW World championship. Many analysts have questioned the timing of this cash in. Kagura, as defending champion, now has an enormous task ahead of her at Lethal Lottery. With not one, but two #1 contenders nipping at her heels.

image.png

#1 - BATTI

Batti was ranked high coming off the Unscripted PPV cycle. She only had one loss against Matt Tastic at AS 122. She defeated Tyrone Blades in a huge match at AS 121, and defeated former QFAD winner Kagura at Unscripted. Since then, Batti has been unstoppable. Adding to her list of fallen foes the former World champion Constantine at MD 147. Even though she and Eve Taylor fought to a draw at AS 125, many analysts feel that Batti is the odds on favorite to win the World title at Lethal Lottery.

Note - these rankings reflect the whole of the Lethal Lottey cycle. Everyone's score will reset after each PPV. So MD 149/AS 126 marks your chance to start building your momentum towards Kingdom Come.

Lethal Lottery 9 Cycle

#7 - Titus Avison

The Eurasian champion had one hell of a rocky road during the Lethal Lottery cycle, but he managed to prove the journalists and analysts wrong when he turned back the monumental challenge of outlasting 3 men in an Fatal Fourway elimination match at the PPV. On top of that, Titus nearly won the Lethal Lottery itself, placing second. The sky must seem a mile high for Mr. Avison, who has reinvented himself yet again. One must now believe that there’s no chance of the EurAvison era ending anytime soon.

image.png

#6 - Callie Clark

Callie Clark had a strong showing during the Gold Rush cycle, but completely fell off the map during the Unscripted cycle. Not one to be ignored, she defeated Matt Tastic at Meltdown Madness to capture the WZCW Elite Openweight title. Though she lost the title to Lynx, she proved herself to still be a major contender when she pinned Matt Tastic again in a tag team match on Meltdown 148. She came up short at the Lethal Lottery, but Callie fans are comforted knowing that she’s now the top contender for the Elite Openweight title. Will the Callie ASSault continue until Kingdom Come?

image.png

#5 - Batti

Even though she entered the match the favorite, she ate the fall during the match at Lethal Lottery to decide WZCW’s undisputed queen, and the next world champion. The loss wasn’t enough to completely knock her from the rankings, but many have been wondering “what’s next?” With Tyrone Blades, her inamorato, heading to the main event at Kingdom Come, one might assume that Batti could somehow be involved in that match.

image.png

#4 - Anthony Mancini

Anthony Mancini is no stranger to success. He had a very successful run during the Unscripted cycle. However, he wasn’t as lucky the first half of the Lethal Lottery cycle, suffering back-to-back losses at Meltdown Madness and Ascension 124. His fortune turned around on Meltdown 148 where he captured the WZCW Mayhem championship. He would go on to successfully defend that title against Randy Studd, who had been considered the division’s top star, at Lethal Lottery. Having finally fought his way to the top of the division, can he keep his momentum going through the Kingdom Come cycle?

image.png

#3 - Kagura

The former WZCW world champion failed to retain her title at Lethal Lottery, prompting analysts and fans alike to believe that it was a mistake on her part to cash in the KFAD briefcase at Ascension 125. However, Kagura was not pinned at the PPV. Many people believe that she could be granted a rematch at Kingdom Come, but that has yet to be seen.

image.png

#2 - Tyrone Blades

The 9th winner of the Lethal Lottery and WZCW’s first two-time winner, the Hall of Famer looks to headline another Kingdom Come. Blades had a strong showing during the Lethal Lottery cycle, only coming up short in a tag team effort back at Ascension Anarchy against his ex-Vis Imperium foes. All the fans eyes are now glued to his back as he marches forward into the Kingdom Come cycle.

image.png

#1 - Eve Taylor

Eve was successful in her bid to capture the WZCW world championship. She ends the Lethal Lottery cycle with 3 wins and 1 draw; an almost perfect record. With the biggest target in the company now on her back, and the Lethal Lottery winner decided, Eve is in a dominant position moving forward. Can WZCW’s undisputed queen keep her momentum going through the next cycle?

Kingdom Come 9 Cycle

#7 - MATT TASTIC

The Hall of Famer was coming off a lousy cycle leading up to the Lethal Lottery. He teamed up with former tag team partner Mikey Stormrage at AS 126, to take on the team of Mark Keaton and Big Bad Roady. They were disqualified. At AS 127, Tastic was able to secure a victory over Keaton when the latter was disqualified. At AS 128, Tastic defeated Ace Stevens when Live Mas scored a double pin fall on their opponents. At Kingdom Come 9, Las Mas was victorious over the team of Mark Keaton and Triple X. With the former world champion having built plenty of momentum going forward, many have to wonder what’s next for the great competitor.

#6 - KING MUSSEL

The Monsieur of Muscle returned at the Lethal Lottery, but came up short after being eliminated by Tyrone Blades with an assist from Batti Otaku. Management decided to test the veteran by placing him in a match against two giants, Grindhouse and Jabari Kasim, at AS 126. Both he and Grindhouse scored a double pin on Jabari. On AS 127, he appeared as the surprise opponent against Titus. He destroyed the great champion in a matter of minutes. After weeks of targeting Batti after her matches, he incurred the wrath of her significant other, Tyrone Blades. At AS 128, Mussel gave it his best shot, but came up short in a loosing effort against the Hall of Famer. At Kingdom Come 9, King Mussel was successful at forcing Batti to say the words, “I Quit.” Having vanquished the last great foe of his past, His Highness sets his sights on even greater heights.

#5 - JOHN CONSTANTINE

The former world champion was dealt a bad hand during the Lethal Lottery cycle. After Kagura Ohzora cashed in her money in the bank at AS 125, and pinned him to win the world title, Constantine announced his desire to retire. But not without one more match. The reigning Eurasian champion Titus challenged him to one more blaze of glory. In what became billed as the battle of the Hall of Famers after John accepted the match at AS 126, the two men began to play mind games with each other. This came to a head at AS 128 when Constantine was scheduled to be the special guest referee in a match Titus had against up and comer PC Stevie Broon. Famous Constantine look-alike, and former WZCW superstar, Anthony Michaels was subbed instead. However, it turned out to be a ruse. Constantine had been the referee all along. His gambit had ended in Titus’ humiliation. At Kingdom Come 9, after a war between the two men, in what many have called the greatest match in Kingdom Come history, Titus’ 951-day reign as Eurasian champion came to a dramatic end. Making good on his word, Constantine retired. Many have speculated on what’s next for the division, and what kind of person will emerge to fill the shoes that Titus left behind.

#4 - PC STEVIE BROON

This newcomer to the WZCW scene debuted at the Lethal Lottery. So far, he’s racked up an impressive number of victories against some big names. At MD 149, in his debut television match, he defeated the reigning Mayhem champion, Tony Mancini. At MD 150, he had a return match with the champion, this time with the title on the line. Broon defeated Mancini by count out, but was unable to win the title due to the rules and regulations of WZCW stating that titles cannot be won via count out. At AS 128, Broon defeated Titus in a heavily advertised match. His greatest to date. Many fans expect to see big things from Broon. With his performance this cycle, many have him pegged as the future Mayhem champion already. But it’s not going to be a surprise if he climbs even higher than that.

#3 - HARALD VON KRIGARE

Another super rookie who debuted at the Lethal Lottery. Krigare tore through Blazing Tiger in his debut match at MD 149. He was placed in the Elite Openweight League, but came up short in a qualifying match against Randy Studd at MD 150. At MD 151, he pulverized Logan McAllister to earn his way into the Mayhem title match at Kingdom Come. At Kingdom Come 9, Harald defeated five other men in a Bring Your Own Weapons match to capture the Mayhem title. Many people see him as the next face of the division, and a hard mountain to topple. Can he live up to expectations?

#2 - TYRONE BLADES

After winning the Lethal Lottery, Blades immediately found the ire of champion Eve Taylor, when his popularity was shown exceeding hers. Even in her home town. On MD 149 be teamed with his lover, Batti Otaku, against Eve Taylor and the former champion Kagura Ohzora. That match ended in a DQ when the champion accidentally hit him below the belt. At MD 150, Blades suffered a loss against Kagura, but that was the least of his troubles. Jealous and paranoid over his quickly rising status, Eve targeted Batti, and tried to tear her and Tyrone apart. Eve had made him out to be a cheater, a liar, and a snake using video evidence she had obtained of her and Blades getting intimate at a local hotel. A mirror image of his old Ty Burna persona. At AS 128, Blades won a hard-fought match against King Mussel. Afterwards, Eve was revealed to have fabricated the video she had used to frame Blades. At Kingdom Come 9, Blades defeated Eve to win the world title in a dramatic match. He TKO’d the former champion after a duel of their submission holds. This marked the end of a seven-year journey to regain the title. His previous reign being the longest world title reign in WZCW history, can Blades do the unthinkable and break his own record?

#1 - MIKEY STORMRAGE

The former veteran returned at the Lethal Lottery to an impressive showing. He and his old tag partner, Hall of Famer and former world champion, Matt Tastic reformed their iconic team Live Mas. The duo ran into some problems early on, when Tastic caused them to be disqualified in a match against Mark Keaton and Big Bad Roady on AS 126. Stormrage though, was able to pick up a big win over Triple X on MD 150. Still being targeted by Keaton, the man that put him out of action at Apocalypse last year, Stormrage vowed to get revenge. At AS 128, Live Mas picked up another big victory, after scoring a double pin with Mikey taking out The Beard. At Kingdom Come 9, Mikey scored the big win for his team, after crushing Keaton with a devasting moonsault. After an impressive cycle, racking up victories on nearly every show, many have to wonder what’s next for the newly minted Hall of Famer. Could it be that he seeks world championship gold once more? Or maybe the Eurasian title? Only time will tell.

R-Awakening Cycle

#7 - Vega
Vega former an unlikely alliance with former world heavyweight Tyrone Blades on Meltdown 153, where the hall of fame performer took the young veteran under his wing. The two proved to be a formidable team, beating former Cerberus teammates Eve Taylor and King Mussel. Setting his sights on Gold Rush, Vega challenged Eve and managed to fight the former world champion to a draw on AS 131. At R-Awakening, he defeated another former world champion in Matt Tastic in a quick and decisive match, giving the former champion a huge burst of moment going forward. Can Vega continue his momentum during the Gold Rush tournament? Only time will tell.

#6 - King Mussel
The King had a rough road to R-Awakening, after becoming the number one contender on MD 152. Showing no signs of chemistry with his former stablemate, he was seen as the weakest link going into the triple threat world title match. Fans and analysts alike questioned his judgement to bring back WZCW veteran and former Apostle Wasabi Toyota during what many considered to be his greatest run to date. However, the King proved the critics and the naysayers wrong when he pinned Tyrone Blades to capture his first world title, concluding a long journey back to the top after failing to win the championship last year at Gold Rush 2017. For how long can WZCW's new monarch keep his throne?

#5 - Annie Halloway
The self proclaimed leader of ATV has proven herself to be on of the most skilled and exciting talents to emerge from the pool of rookies to debut in WZCW post Kingdom Come. Claiming herself to be a notorious hacker and a master of mind games, the resourceful competitor demonstrated her potential with a win over Keith Kole and Alice Adams in a triple threat match at R-Awakening. Can Miss Halloway continue to move up the ladder and achieve even greater heights in the future? Make sure you keep a close eye on this rising star folks.

#4 - Harald Var Krigare
Even though the current Mayhem champion continues to impress, defeating former Elite champion Lynx on AS 129, dominating the ever cocky Keith Kole on AS 130, and turning back number one contender Stevie Broon at R-Awakening, management has not been impressed with the way he's been representing the division. Accused of not caring about the prestige of the belt, the WZCW board announced their plan to open the division to anyone, sanctioning pin fall victories wherever they might occur, forcing the champion to be on constant guard. With these rules in place, can Harald hold onto the title that he's held since Kingdom Come, or will a new champion emerge in the very near future?

#3 - Xander
At AS 130, Triple X returned to WZCW sporting a new look, and a change in attitude. Shunning his old ways of car crash wrestling, and adopting a more traditional scientific grappling style instead, the former Eurasian champion proclaimed once again his intent to scale the WZCW mountain. Xander shocked everyone when he pinned Tyrone Blades during the main event of MD 154. Setting his sights on beating former world champion Kagura at R-Awakening, the former champion did just that. Though many criticized the cheap tactics that he used to win. Having been confirmed for the Gold Rush tournament, if he manages to survive his first round encounter with Eve Taylor, many analysts have predicted him to be the man to win it all.

#2 - Stetson Hayes
Debuting in WZCW post Kingdom Come, the wily Texas grappler has proven himself to be the most formidable wrestler among the new crop of talent in WZCW. Donning his cowboy hat, spurs, and boots, the rough and rugged Hayes has been undefeated in contests as he plows his trusty steed through the other competitors. At R-Awakening, he made his intention of becoming the next Eurasian champion crystal clear after draping the American flag over the belt. Going forward, a determined Hayes looks to be unstoppable. Will he be the next man to hold the Eurasian gold?

#1 - Titus Avison
After the EurAvison era came to an emotional and dramatic end at Kingdom Come, many fans began to wonder what was next for Titus Avison. After putting Blazing Tiger, along with the entire Stark Talent Agency, out to pasture on MD 152, the hall of fame performer defeated King Mussel in a thrilling match on MD 154. All this being en-route to defeating Garth Black at R-Awakening in a show stealing contest. Now that King Mussel is world champion, many analysts have pegged the former world champion to be his first opponent. There seems to be no brighter shining star in the WZCW cosmos than Titus at the moment.
