RESULTS SERVICE: MONDAY NIGHT RAW, December 27

• Wade Barrett opened the show about still being WWE Champion and Nexus being dominant, Triple H interrupted - 5 vs. 5 tag team match tonight!
  
• Randy Orton defeated Alex Riley.
  
• Orton staged a 'sit-down' protest in the ring over Cena's win last night, demanded a Royal Rumble rematch. HBK says he is fine, it is up to Michael Cole.
  
• Triple H and Kurt Angle found their partners - RVD, Daniel Bryan and Justin Gabriel.
  
• After an interference from Edge, Sheamus and Miz defeated John Morrison and Santino Marella.
  
• Miz and Sheamus exchanged views backstage - both intent on winning the Royal Rumble next month.
  
• There was tension between new US Champion Justin Gabriel and the former champion, Daniel Bryan. Rematch in the near future but on same team tonight.
  
• Michelle McCool introduced her new bodyguard - Kharma. She told us that nobody will disrespect her again.
  
• Michelle McCool defeated Eve Torres. After, Kharma beat down on Eve Torres to prove her worth.
  
• Matt Striker introduced the final two for NXT: Great Khali for Team JBL, Vladimir Kozlov for Team Rock.
  
• Vladimir Kozlov vs. Great Khali: No Contest after NXT participants end up in massive brawl instead.
  
• The Rock knocked down JBL, cleared ring. Rock Bottom and People's Elbow to Drew McIntyre.
  
• Ted DiBiase told Josh Mathews that he was still focused on winning the US Championship despite loss last night.
  
• Edge confronted HBK and demanded respect and a place in the Rumble. HBK claimed Edge wasn't Rumble calibre, Edge promised to wreak havoc on RAW.
  
• Michael Cole joined HBK. However, Orton confronted Cole - Cole refused Orton a rematch with Cena. Orton flipped and tried to get Cole but security intervened.
  
• Kurt Angle and Triple H defeated Nexus: After Justin Gabriel and Daniel Bryan completely fell out after a build of tension and ended up fighting out of the arena, Edge appeared again and speared RVD into the steel steps. With just Angle and Triple H left, Nexus were in control as they targetted Angle. With Triple H down on the outside, Nexus thought they had the match won when Angle hit the Angle Slam to Wade Barrett for the 3!

NEWS & RUMOURS FROM THE GCB WWE!

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP @ ROYAL RUMBLE
It appears that WWE is building towards a Royal Rumble clash between WWE Champion Wade Barrett and the Number 1 contender, Triple H. However, on RAW this week, the waters were muddied by the victory of Kurt Angle over the Nexus leader, Barrett, in the main event. With many speculating that it would be Triple H to pull out the upset when the match altered to a 5 vs. 2 contest, Angle getting the 3-count opens the storyline up to a possible Triple Threat match instead. Although the WWE are yet to confirm anything about next week’s RAW, it will be interesting to see how Kurt Angle acts next week to see if there will be an extra man in the title hunt or not.

ROYAL RUMBLE ON THE HORIZON
WWE confirmed on Monday night that the Royal Rumble will not be expanding to a 40-man contest as recently rumoured – RAW General Manager Shawn Michaels clearly mentioned that it would be a 30-man match when he confronted Edge. With the event emanating from Cleveland, Ohio, The Miz is obviously being built up as a potential victor in his home town although few believe WWE will waste the Money in the Bank contract by having Miz win the Rumble match as well. Others who appear to be in the frame – at least based on what we know from RAW – are Sheamus, Edge and RVD whilst the situation remains unclear about SMACKDOWN which could go in all kinds of directions following the appointment of Michael Cole as General Manager. With Randy Orton being refused a shot at John Cena by Cole, this could lead to the Viper entering the Royal Rumble and could be a story line to take him to a WrestleMania match with the afore mentioned Cena if he won the title at Elimination Chamber.

UNDERTAKER RETURNS TO SMACKDOWN
As announced by Michael Cole on RAW this week, The Undertaker returns to action this Friday night on SMACKDOWN after his appearance at Vengeance to deny Kane the World Heavyweight Championship. Whether the Brothers of Destruction will feud again is unclear but there are strong rumours coming out of the WWE that the pair will not meet on PPV after poor viewing figures for SMACKDOWN during their feud around Summerslam and Night of Champions. SMACKDOWN is certainly now stacking up the talent with Undertaker back, Cena joining and World Champion CM Punk all on the blue brand. With other SMACKDOWN superstars receiving pushes as well – Christian and Kofi Kingston – it is becoming an exciting time to watch SMACKDOWN with many speculating that Friday nights are more entertaining than Monday nights right now.

NXT SEASON 3!
After the recent skirmishes on RAW and on PPV, it appears that Rock and JBL, the NXT Legend Mentors, are prepared to get physical on NXT Season 3 as they lead their teams into the show which starts tonight. Great Khali and Vladimir Kozlov were announced as the final participants on the show with Khali joining Kaval, Drew McIntyre and MVP on JBL’s team and Kozlov joining Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and Chavo Guerrero on Team Rock. WWE are promoting the idea that three of the eight will retain their jobs with the WWE and the rumours are that this is really happening – all eight men have contracts expiring and WWE are going to use NXT to assess their positions with the company. The early favourites appear to be Drew McIntyre as JBL’s favourite, Kaval as the underdog and Chavo Guerrero. It is – as yet – unclear how the characters of MVP, R-Truth and Dolph Ziggler will be used and whether there will be any face/heel changes to fit with their mentors.​
