Best part:

In his order, Malihi noted that Obama's legal team had argued that no president should be compelled to attend a court hearing.
"This may be correct," Malihi wrote. "But [Obama] has failed to enlighten the court with any legal authority."
Obama's court filings fail to show why his attendance would be "unreasonable or oppressive" or why his testimony would be "irrelevant, immaterial or cumulative," the judge wrote.
The White House on Monday referred questions to Obama's reelection campaign, which had no public comment.

This is only going to be a tongue in cheek response, as I agree that the birther stuff is nonsense despite my conservative beliefs...ie, I am NOT defending birthers.

I think the significance of this statement may be lost by some people. Obama's legal team argues that the President cannot be compelled to attend a court hearing...the judge's response is actually quite telling...he is essentially saying that while that may be true, if Obama isn't legitimately the President, then he can't use that defense. The judge was being very snarky with Obama's lawyers.

Damn liberal! :)

Well, fuck...it's been 3 years. I think the issue of whether he is the legal President is really kind of a moot point by now. It's just like when the liberals stopped claiming that Bush wasn't the legit President after the Supreme Court issued it's ruling, because it became a moot point then too...;)

At least with the Supreme Court there was something that could be argued about it. This is beyond the point of reasonable doubt.

Obama should have ridden up to the courthouse on a motorcycle with an American flag draped over his shoulders, and released a bald eagle into the courtroom. before digging into an entire apple pie while the proceedings went on.

It was beyond reasonable doubt the second he was sworn in. At that point, he IS the President of the United States, whether anyone likes it or not. (that goes for both Bush and Obama)

That's true on Bush. I wasn't happy with it and I think there's still something to it, but that was what, 11 years ago? It's the same with Obama now. He's been in office 3 years and odds are he'll be in for another four after this November. Let it go and let something get done.

If you apply at Denny's with a fake Social Security number, they'll catch you. I'm pretty sure that the fucking United States Presidency has the same policy.

YOUR tax dollars at work Georgia.

Why do I have a bad feeling this guy is a hero somehow down there?

It'll be the first time I've heard of him doing anything.

Georgia: still butthurt about having a black president.

Hey, now don't lump us all together, although, the same people who didn't vote for Obama backed Herman Cain for a while.

you assume "the people" elect the President for that to be true.

An election with no true winner vs. a bunch of fucked up sister-bangers going apeshit because someone of color holds office.

I don't see the comparison, then again, I'm not a right-winger.

I don't blame him for not going, he is obviously American if he's president. I would certainly hope they would do a background check and make sure the guy was American before he started running for presidency.

That's what I thought when the race began and I heard about this: wouldn't SOMEONE have caught this earlier? But that makes too much sense so of course not.

If he gets re-elected then all hope is lost for this country to ever recover. His socialist views and policies are destroying this great land.

He gives tax right offs that only the wealthy can afford and then says that they should pay more. Stop these right offs and they will.

The EPA, Department of Education and all these ludicrous entitlements are bankrupting our country.
