The Invisible Woman

Sue Storm, also known as The Invisible Woman (or the hot soccer mom of Marvel Comics) is one part of Marvel’s first family, the Fantastic 4, and the wife of brilliant scientist Reed Richards. Like most Marvel characters, the origin of Sue’s powers is almost as fantastic as the group she is a part of. On the return trip from a space voyage, the ship containing the group that would become the Fantastic 4 was belted with radiation. What seemed to be a tragic accident turned into a blessing in disguise, as each member of the team awoke with seemingly magical powers. Sue was granted the ability to turn invisible and conjure force fields.

Sue’s role in the superhero team is to keep them grounded as Reed is often scatterbrained and her brother, the Human Torch, and The Thing are wont to get caught up in arguing with each other. However, don’t count The Invisible Woman out on the battlefield; Sue’s ability to turn invisible at will makes her a difficult lady to defeat, and her force field abilities make her an able attacker.

Sue may be Marvel’s answer for the typical soccer mom, but just like real soccer moms she has just as much bite as she does bark. She’s fiercely defensive of her children, husband, friends, and her ideals. She’s not afraid to question authority or even her husband, and she has a winning attitude to boot. Combine Sue’s personality with her extraordinary abilities, and you will find that she may be one of the most versatile fighters in this tournament.

Powers

• Invisibility- Sue has the ability to turn herself invisible. To do this, she creates an invisible force field that cloaks her body, though she is able to extend the invisible force field to about 4,000 cubic feet of volume.
• - Force field projection- Sue is able to create and project force fields in a variety of offensive, defensive, and supportive manners. The size and shape of the force field depends on Sue’s level of concentration and her imagination. These force fields are powerful enough to stop bullets, trap enemies, lift heavy weights, and withstand crushing pressure, even being able to escort her and a group through a black hole at one point. She can also use the force fields to fly (up to 25 mph) and to slam opponents.

Abilities

• Combat Skills- While not nearly as capable a fighter as a Daredevil or Wolverine type, Sue has some hand-to-hand combat prowess. She should be able to easily defeat anyone that doesn’t have martial arts training and would be able to hold her own against someone that does.
