It's hard to argue against the success of Hulk Hogan. He was a 12 time world champion across the WWE and WCW, on top of having great success in the AWA and Japan. He's one of the most recognizable wrestling figures of all time. But in the 1970's so was Jack Brisco.

Most fans would be quick to label Harley Race and Ric Flair as the standout stars from the NWA during that time period, but in reality Jack was right up there with them. He was a very successful NWA world champion.

I'm glad to see Jack getting some more respect and recognition in this tournament, but the reality is that he wasn't on the same level as Hogan. Very few were. Maybe next year he'll go deeper. But there's no shame in going out to a performer with the Hulkster's caliber.

Hulk Hogan killed the territories to the point Jack Brisco had to sell his own territory up to Vince McMahon. That speaks volumes about their relative positions in the wrestling spectrum. Hogan wins.
