The obvious winner of this one is the city of Chicago.

Both competitors had to build their reputations on being memorable for their ring work as well as their louder than life personalities.

I love Jake, he's my easy answer whenever I'm asked to name my favorite wrestler of all time, but I'm going with Chris.

Given that these two are so similar in terms of their potential, I'm favoring the wrestler who actually carried major world championships.

Also; given that I'm a native Chicagoan, I know that I wouldn't be alone in lauding the hell out of a Chris Jericho win.

Y2J. It would be a crowd pleasing match for sure. Jake The Snake Roberts as a face made the crowd care about him in and out of the ring. His entrance music would hit, the crowd would immediately pop and he'd make that walk to the ring, staring at his opponent with a big sack of coiled up snake draped over his shoulder.

The problem here is that he's taking on Y2J. The man has won a mid card title or two before hitting WWE where his career skyrocked and he eventually won every title in the business. Most of them he won multiple times too. One of the more decorated, entertaining wrestlers in the entire tournament. Jake's crowd reactions, mic work and his DDT won't save him in this match.

Jake was a dark, mysterious, charismatic figure during the 80s who could deliver some of the best mic work in the business. He had that ever mysterious It Factor even though he wasn't a great athlete, didn't have a good body and never really rose above a certain level on the card in WWE. I honestly don't see why Jake was never given at least a strong run, maybe a couple of strong runs, as Intercontinental Champion; it nothing else, I'd have vastly preferred him in that spot rather than a glorified Elvis impersonator.

We all know what Y2J brings to the table as we've seen excellence upon excellence out of him for more than a quarter century. I've heard JBL say a few times that Jericho must've discovered the Fountain of Youth as Jericho may very well be, from an overall perspective, as good of a pro wrestler now as he was 20 years ago. He might be just a tad slower, but he can still deliver with anyone inside the ring, he's loaded with charisma and it's always a pleasure to watch him cut a promo.

When it's all said & done, I've got to go with the guy who's actually accomplished something in his career and that's Jericho. Jake was a fun character, but the fact that Jericho's a 6 time World Champion, 9 time Intercontinental Champion, 7 time Tag Team Champion and at age 46 is the reigning United States Champion give him an edge that Jake just can't muster. Whenever Jake went up against top level guys, he came out on the losing end and Jericho's a top level guy.

As jake said before he was there to get the guys ready for Hogan. Bothe wrestlers are amazing, up thee with the best. Jericho has had the better career and deservedly so.

While Jake has had an amazing career, stepping into the ring with so many top stars, he always came out on the losing end, to help get them over, help get them ready for the the champ.
Jericho however, he went from being a cruiserweight to being the top cruiserweight, to being the US champ to Intercontinental champ, to being the First Undisputed Champ, multiple world titles. And of course the most decorated Intercontinental of all time.Alway reinvented himself, and always showed how great he was/is.

Both excellent mic workers, Jericho was a better ring wrestler and that's why he's ended up a lot more decorated. Jericho wins.

At one time Jericho was potentially going to be another Raven, a guy with all the potential in the world that would never get treated with the respect he deserved for the star power he possessed. Unlike Raven, however, Jericho was significantly more diverse, thrived after his jump to the then WWF, and after all of these successful reinventions he may well be one of the top drawing stars in wrestling history. Jake Roberts is one of the greatest wrestling minds to ever step into the ring but sadly fell victim to his demons before he could establish himself as one of the all time greats. Roberts might get an edge over a guy like Raven but Jericho squashes him.

Jake Roberts is an unique wrestler with an unique personality. Unfortunately, he never made it to the ultimate goal of becoming the World Champion. Jericho has a bunch of accolades over Roberts and wins this match on its merit.

Won't be a squash though. Both were very good at mic. Jericho was better on ring, I guess.

I voted Jericho and it was an easy decision. He defeated Rock and Austin in their primes on the same night. Of course his title reign sucked and he was more of a vehicle for putting over the more popular Triple H, but that accomplishment was unforgettable. Roberts was really a glorified mid carder where as Jericho can be placed anywhere on the card and excel. His 5 other world titles to his credit speaks to the value he brings as a main eventer.

His accomplishments in the wrestling world far exceed Roberts. It's Y2J's win.
